HTML - Html Cliend Side Validation
Hello
I am a newbie in html. I was asked to design a html web page that includes cliend side validation for an entry form. my design is as below: <table width="75%" border="3" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="8"> <tr> <td><font color="#000000">Please fill in all the required fields </font></td> </tr> <tr> <form name="register" action=""> <td width="25%" bgcolor="#CCCCCC" colspan="2"> <p>First Name<br> <input type="text" name="textfield" width="200%"> </p> <p>Last Name<br> <input type="text" name="textfield" width="200%"> </p> <p>Username<br> <input type="text" name="textfield" width="200%"> </p> <p>Password<br> <input type="password" name="textfield2" width="200%"> </p> <p>Email<br> <input name="textfield" type="text" value="" width="200%"> </p> <p><input name="" type="checkbox" accesskey=""> I am happy to be Emailed </p> <p> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit" > </p></td> </form> </tr> </table> How can I validate it? should i use java?php or ...? thanks Similar TutorialsOkay, so the title...I didn't really know what to put. I'm having serious issues trying to find/alter a string of code on my site. It is currently in a box along the side with a show/hide button to make it retract and expand, but its default is open which is rather annoying. I really hope this is HTML and not Javascript, but I'm a complete newb when it comes to programming so I'm honestly clueless. HERE is a link to my site, if you want to see exactly what I'm talking about. As for the code, I don't know where the specific problem is, so I'm sorry for this, but I'm going to paste most of the header. Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $(".sideb").click(function(){ $(".cbox").slideToggle("slow"); }); }); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('div.accordionButton').click(function() { if($(this).next().is(':visible')) { $('div.accordionContent').slideUp('slow'); } else { $('div.accordionContent').slideUp('slow'); $(this).next().slideDown('slow'); } }); $("div.accordioncontent").hide(); }); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("div.accordionbutton").mouseover(function(){ $(this).removeClass().addClass("acchover"); }).mouseout(function(){ $(this).removeClass().addClass("accordionbutton"); }); </script> <style type="text/css"> body { background-position: top center; margin-left: 225px; } input, textarea, select { background-color: #f4f7f9; please and thank you very much. Hi everyone, my first post here! I'm trying to develop a website to display weather. Its really quite simple; One computer runs some weather software which gets its data from a weather station, the weather software creates .jpg images of the data it receives and ftp's them every 60 seconds to a webserver that just has a simple html page displaying all of the 6 images on one page again refreshing every 60 seconds. This has been running for some time but I have recently been asked to include data from another computer that monitors tidal height. This computer also ftp's its data every 60 seconds to the same webserver but in a csv .txt file. I can display this txt file directly on the site in a iframe but its really badly formatted. What's the best way of formatting the data client side? I thought maybe with javascript, but its something I have never used before. thanks in advance, Nick hi im designing a we site by php i have a html form that collect some information from client an it has some script for hide or visible text box when user check a checkbox but when client run my page see a popup menu allowed blocked content.... i saw some site do this withou running this popup how can i do it? thanks I'm having some trouble trying to get the following page to show the three link columns centered, side by side: http://centralmusic.com.previewmysite.com/links.php EDIT: for reference, the title LINK is properly centered, and the ARTIST column should be directly below that, as is seen on the contact page I've tried every trick you can find on google, but nothing seems to work while the float tag is involved, and if I remove the tag then the divs arn't side by side. I've found that if I make a containing DIV with a FIXED witdth, it will center THAT div within it's parent using the margin: 0 trick. however, the 3 interior divs still float to the left of that container div. so if the containing div is wider then the total width of the interior divs, they do not appeared center (however on this page I COULD make use of equal column widths, but it doesn't end up being FF friendly). Alright so I actually tried a couple more things after typing that last paragraph. On this page: http://centralmusic.com.previewmysite.com/gallery.php I find that what i described so far is true, however on the first page i referenced, putting a containing div around the 3 columns made no apparent difference. I'm going to start double checking my code and comparing the two pages for differences to see what I'm doing wrong (on both pages though, the goal is to have a number of divs centered vertically, side by side). If anyone has any comments or hints to help me out that'd be great, but I'll definatley be posting back later with an update once I get a chance to try a few more things. My code looks like this:
Code: <a id="commercialadvantages" href="/link1"><span> </span></a><a id="hearradio" href="/link2"><span> </span></a><a id="viewearnings" href="link3"><span> </span></a> When I go to the live view, they come out stacked like this: But I want them side by side, not stacked. Is it the <a> code that causes them to stack? What can I change in my code to make them side by side? Thx. I am trying to edit my image viewer on my site, but for some reason it works perfectly in chrome, safari and Firefox, but IE is giving me one issue. The images are being stacked vertically (one on to of the other) rather than show up all in one row horizontally. This is making my page longer in IE and just does not look the way I want it to..Any ideas at to what could cause this? here is a link to test the issue...I have tried everything that I know how to do, but have had no success..http://www.jewelryboxavenue.com/Ocea...-Box_p_58.html Hello i am having some trouble aligning some checkboxes. I am trying to get them to sit side by side horizontally but when i do this with absolute positioning i will click the first set and it will check the second so i have to go way to the left of the first set to check mark it. I'd rather not have a table within the cell in question although i suppose i could if there's not some html or css way to make it work. Thanks in advance, Michael Hi, I'm new to HTML can anybody help me how to place to tables side by side Hello, I'm using the Lytebox image script and I would like for my images to appear side by side and not vertically. This is the code that I'm using but for some reason it came out kind of odd. But when I tested it, there were 2 Errors, 92 warning(s) . When I enquired about it, the designer says there is nothing to worry about warnings. And as there are just 2 errors, it would not be a big problem. Is it right? How this will affect SEO? Can this be search engine friendly website? Hi, I am new to web designing and HTML. So just learning it as I go along. I validated my below HTML code in http://validator.w3.org/detailed.html and it threw lots of error and warning. Can anyone please help me understand this. I am not sure what I am doing wrong with this page but the validation fails. Any help? http://www.h51school.com/ Hello again, I had a problem resolved today with one of my pages. And it had to do with validating my page and the CSS. The HTML validation is done at w3.org I have come across something that has amazed me. I am a complete amateur but can't understand how I have gone this long without knowing this. What is the story with the "/>" at the end of the meta tags? Up until now my meta tages have looked like this HTML Code: <meta name="description" content="description here"> Now that I have discovered it is a good idea to validate your pages I have found that all these things are errors! It makes me write it like this to get rid of the error. HTML Code: <meta name="description" content="description here" /> Infact, everything in the head has to end with the ../> or it's an error. I have no idea why. And this whole validation thing is new to me anyway. I'd appreciate it if someone explained to me what is going on here. thank you. Deleted By User. |
