HTML - Help: Center Tags Aren't Working
I have a simple web page that I'm working on (http://milwaukeeweb.net/fivbook) and I have center tags that aren't working.
The bold titles on each of these two pages are aligning left in Internet Explorer. I've stripped it down to make it more convenient: http://tivaelydoc.110mb.com/horror.html i'm looking for a cheap way out of making collapse/expand code. i've learned a lot of 'ghetto' techniques n thought mayb i can use something similar to the html tricks i've learned in the past. the theory i have is.. i use the title of the collapse/expand text as a link to the text below it to open and close by using the navigating tags: Code: <a name="content">opening/closing text here</a> and the title above the content: Code: <a href="#content">Title</a> to open the area of text. now my idea of a shortcut around the whole css/html/javacript combo is to make the text below it use a Code: <font size=0>content</font> at default and have the href title link change the font size to the default 9pt but I don't know if that's even possible. Is it possible with the Code: <div> tags? and if so, using that, would i still b able to make a link like that? Is it possible to trigger the action of a form with a submit button that's outside the form tags? If so, how should this example be rescripted to make the input tag work outside the form tags? I would like to set up links on the left column that, when clicked, open a new 'page' in the center (mainContainer). I am using all div tags, no tables. Could someone point me in the right direction? TIA I have several div tags that I want exactly where I place them regardless of a user's screen size / resolution ... if I place them right of left 200 px then they shfit depending on resolution ... samve if I place them right of left by, say 85%. I'm figuring if I place the div tage left of center or right of center then they will always position correctly because the center doesn't vary according to resolution. How do I do this? I tried document.getElementById("divid").style.center = "25"; (i was attempting 25 pixels right of center) but it doesn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks! Quick question. How do I center everything up so it isn't all stuck to one side for users who have a higher resolution? Does div tags generally just handle borders or can u fill a division with colour as in make a rectangle or whatever? Heres some code i have been presented by my lecturer, I can read the attributes well i think but if someone could explain it i would be greatfull just to check my understanding Thanks CW |
