Help? can you detect if a page is a child? (in an iframe) if (page is a child) { parent.remoteClick('myButton'); } else { } thanks. or the opposite i suppose... if (page is a parent) { } else { parent.remoteClick('myButton'); } In my art page I have a series of thumbnail, when you clcik on them a javascript function is used to show them in fullsize next to all the thumbnails. However sometimes I want to link to my art page with a certain thumbnail expanded. How can I achieve this. This is what i have so far but its not working Code: <a href="art.html" onlcick="expandThumb("expandSrc")">thumb4</a> Thanks in advance Calypso So I've been trying to set up a search box to blank out its default text when clicked, and reappear when it goes away (if empty). The script works fine--I know that much. However, when using it inside a table inside a form, it seems to fail every single time. Even "this.value=' ' " falls flat on its face. I'm relatively new to HTML, so please bear with me. Below is the script, a text box it does work in, and then the box I'm trying to make it work in. Quote: <script type="text/javascript"> function clickIn(field){ if (field.value==field.defaultValue){ field.value=''; } } function clickOut(field){ if (field.value==''){ field.value=field.defaultValue; } } </script> <form> <input type="text" name="text" id="test" value="test" onfocus="clickIn(this)" onblur="clickOut(this)"/> </form> <form> <tr> <td style="border-style:solid;border-color:#4B7B9F;border-width:1px;"> <!--Search Box Dimensions--> <input type="text" title="Search Terms" name="lookfor" id="search" value="Search the Catalog" onfocus: "clickIn(this)" onblur="clickOut(this)" style="width:300px; border:0px solid; height:50px; padding:0px 3px; position:relative;"/> </td> <td style="border-style:solid;border-color:#4B7B9F;border-width:1px;"> <!--The search button--> <input type="image" value="Go" src="Search Button.jpg" style="border-style: none; width: 50px; height: 50px;"/> </td> </tr> </table> </form> On my site, we have game reviews. Well, I just created a template system, and before I had it, I was using javascript to make a new mini pop-up window for our videos and screenshots. Example is he http://thegamehog.com/reviews/pc/str...and_conquer_3/ This worked fine at first, but now I wrote a template system in PHP and I cannot use the javascript anymore because it interferes with the things going on in the PHP. How can I (possibly) make a pop-up window without javascript or at least have the stuff open in a new window? I cannot use the target attribute because I'm trying not to have any markup errors and I am using a strict doctype. I know this is a common problem across many websites trying to go by the standards, but someone has to have an answer! does any 1 know if it is possible to have a function in scripts which opens a new window form of width=250,height=400' i want it to open but i want to use a script so that onclick returns that functon does any1 know how to make that script please helpppppppp i want it to open new window from using script please helpppp I want the maximize square to work with a new window pop-up but it is not. I been trying all sorts of options without luck. The minimize button works the close but not the maximize square. Is there any way this button can work? I am openning the new with "_self" option. This is by code now. javascript:window.open('http://www.tstonebeta.org/staff.html','','maximize,width=600,height=600,scrollbars=1,resizeable=1,status=1,toolbar=yes');void( 0) Thanks for any suggestions. Russ Hi, can someone please help me with this? In preview in dreamweaver it looks ok but in some browsers its horrible. When I turn the compatibility View on its not ok, bur if I turn it on its fine. Hi Folks, Before I submit code, of which there is a great deal, I was wondering if someone could help me understand a little problem with buttons. My setup is this: 1) A drop-down menu triggers the creation of the form associated with the selection. 2) On that form are three radio buttons which open another form depending on the selection. Sounds simple enough but once the form is opened via radio button you can't click on them until you re-select the same option from the drop-down menu. My objects are set up as follows: Main document - Main form - DD menu - Text field - Sub-form - 3 radio buttons - Sub-form MK2 - Buttons, text fields and labels oh my My thought process is I have a main form object which has a child (Sub-form) and its child has a child (Sub-form MK2). What's even more confusing is when I print out the status of any of the radio buttons it says they are enabled... I just can't interact with them. If you need code I can provide but it is somewhat long. Thanks for your help! i run a couple of norwegian webshops, and they all use the same backend, developed by myself. however im not using any kind of subversion system, and this sucks right now. check this link to one of my product-pages in your regular browser (not IE. i presume you use chrome or firefox) http://iphonedeksler.no/iphone-og-ip...0mah-sort.html then test it in IE, it looks like a complete mess, and its not possible to use the site at all. i recently made it W3C validated, but i think this error came after that. can anyone see what in the name of the lord is wrong in internet explorer?! I have a parent div=body, and four child div's=sidebar (dark gray), spacer1, content (white), and spacer2. Those are not the backgrounds of the individual div's. I'm using a faux columns method of taking the parent's bg and y-repeating it. You can see the problem below. This works in IE6, but not in Firefox. This would lead me to assume there's a problem in my coding, but the way FF is displaying it...it's like firefox is placing it in a different column just to peeve me off. In IE6 (perfect): In FF (looks like script was placed in spacer1 column--padding:10 for content div) I noticed it repeated correctly for the first div, but it's like it started over with the spacer1 div and doesn't even repeat down: Here is the code: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>DCS College Football Ratings and College Football News</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/jd.gallery.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <script src="scripts/mootools.v1.11.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="scripts/jd.gallery.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </head> <body background="images/bg.png"> <div id="container" style=" width:785px; background:inherit; height:auto; margin:0 auto;"> <div id="header" style="background:url('images/layout_01.png'); width:785px; height:121px;"></div> <div id="navbar" style="background:url('images/layout_02.png'); width:758px; height:26px; padding-top:9px; padding-left:27px; clear:both;"> <font color="#cecece" face="Verdana" size="2"><b>»Home »The D-Report »DCS Ratings »Custom Helmets »About the DCS</b></font></div> <div id="subheader" style="background:url('images/layout_03.png'); width:785px; height:49px; clear:both;"></div> <div id="body" style="background:url('images/contentbg.png'); width:785px; height:auto; float:left;"> <div id="sidebar" style="background:inherit; width:260px; padding:10px; height:auto; float:left; "> <font face="verdana" color="#cecece" size="3"><b>The D-Report</b></font><br><font face="verdana" color="white" size="1"><b>Info about the most current DCS news article here. Hi all, I am wondering if anyone know how to have a link, once clicked, open a popup window WHILE also changing the page in the existing window. I know how to code them separately, but I do not know how to combine the two actions. HTML Code: <A HREF="javascript:popUp('popup.html')">link name</A> My site currently uses the above code to open popup windows. Any help would be much appreciated, David Here is the case. I have an HTML page that opens a pop-up. Within the popup I need upon click to open a new window. The code is as it should be according to all references: <a href="some url" target="_blank">text</a> Everything is ok with IE6 and IE7 - a new window is being opened. What happens in Firefox is very strange - tabs are shown and the currently opened popup becomes one of the tabs and the new window opens in a new tab of the pop-up window instead in a new normal window. Did anybody encounter the same problem? Any solutions? I have constructed an html window within a window thusly: <object type="text/html" data="x/FE-000-EN.html" style="width:460px; height:800px; margin-left:20px;" width="24" height="24"></object> on the same page outside of that window I would like to place buttons which change the content of the window within a window. I use a basic hyperlink button, to click this link below and change the content of the window above I...? <a href="001.htm">001</a><font color="#FFFFFF">: S.S.H.U.T.</font><br> Thanks for your assistance =) You may view the complete site here if needed: http://fragmentearth.netfirms.com/ EDIT: Sorry, found the answer. No need to give me a solution. I've decided to create a photo album in HTML (and Flash and CSS) using a nifty little Flash thing called SimpleViewer. However, I want multiple galleries, each within their own folder within the main photo gallery parent folder. How can I link something from one HTML file in a gallery's folder to the parent folder and then into another HTML file in another gallery's folder? Or if there's a way, directly to the other gallery's HTML file? Note I'm keeping this gallery offline for now, I'm only using it to show family and friends and for myself as it's much less cumbersome than using software or the standard Windows XP folder structure. Sorry if this is confusing, please say so if it is. Thanks in advance for all help, it's really appreciated. Hello dear forum, This is a big one, and I need some serious help. Have been trying to figure this one by myself, but I just couldn't, so I hope that you can help! Let me explain: I have a page with a Header/Menu which is a simple table, and an Iframe (frmMain) with some content. Here's what I need to do: onLoad & onResize the frmMain should get re-sized The main scrollbar on the page/window should scroll the frmMain content Re-size: The header should always stay 45px in height, but the frmMain should re-size to fill out the page vertically. Scroll: The scroll-bar on the main window/page should scroll the content of the frmMain of necessary. I have made an illustration to try explain my problem: |
