HTML - How To Code For Domain Redirect
hi viewers,
i am design one website that is 6ginfotech. now i want one doubt that is in address bar i type 6ginfotech.com then also open my website. but all websites are typed without www then redirect to www.website name.com how to do that because i am design one seo company website. according to seo rules it is not accepted. so tell me the solution. bye k.n.v.santosh Similar TutorialsOk, I've never really heard of this before, but my boss wants me to set it up, against my better judgement. basically, we're building a new site for a client, but he's got two domain names that he wants to use, and each one needs to go to a different home page. Is it possible to set up a redirect for a site that can understand which domain name has been entered and then send the customer to the appropriate page? or better yet, set up a home page like normal, but redirect only if the secondary domain name is entered. And how does this affect SEO? The other way I can think of to do this involves hard coding some links and one person jumping back and forth between domain names durring a single visit. Either that, or duplicate the whole site and drop it in a sub folder. Hello all, I currently host my own website at home (work related) which is a sub domain of a free dynamic DNS provider- dyndns.com I am looking to place a search engine within the home page so as that visitors can search the sites content (technical). Having trawled the web I can only find HTML source code for top level (from providers google, yahoo....) domains for eg. if my domain was mywebsite.com but in my case I require it so search htttp://"my website hostname".dyndns.org. I would be grateful if someone can tell me if this is possible and if possible where I can find the source code to insert into my home page so as that it can be searched thro' my site, regards munky I'd like visitors to my web site to automatically be taken to the home page when they enter my domian name. For example, when they type in thedomainame.com the will automatically see thedomainame.com/homepage. Is this done by using htaccess? Can you someone explain this to me? How it works and how to set it up? Or how do I change the home page name to be the index page? Right now it's domainname.com/folder/index thanks. Can someone help me to create a html redirect code ? If my page is down, i want to redirect to another website. And if I could to put more urls in html file and if one is down to redirect to another.Tnx Hi All, I am wondering is there any way I can write an html which redirects based on a response. I want to develop an html file, which checks if a page returns ok then it goes there otherwise in case of a 404 it goes to another page. Is it possible. Thanks Anud I know how to have my page redirect to a different page. the problem i have is that I want somebody to go to my page, click on a link, which will bring them to a new page, have the new page open up an instant mesanger window to my screen name, and then redirect back to my main page. I have all of the code to open up the IM window, but I do not know how to get the browser to redirect after that has happened. as of now, this is my page i want to have the code to redirect to my main page on. Code: <html> <head> <title>WeirdClayJisKOOL//AIM-redirect</title> <style type="text/css">.sneaky { display: none; visibility: hidden; }</style> <script language="javascript"> function reDirect() { document.aim.submit() } </script> </head> <body onLoad="reDirect()"> <B>Generating AIM..</B> <a href=http://www.mymainpage.com><h1>Return to Mymainpage</h1></a> <form method="post" action="aim:goim?screenname=WeirdClayJisKOOL&message=Hey!" name="aim"> <span class="sneaky"><input type="submit" value="AIM"></span> </form> </body> </html> i'm not sure if this post belongs in this section because i don't know if i would use html, or javascript or what. if you are un-clear about what i want let me know and i will be glad to attemp to clearify. thank you! I need to know how to put www on a domain but not on a subdomain. If I have the redirect on to have the www, the sub doesn't work. If I take it off, I subdomain works but no cool www, lol. Also be noted, a noob most likely knows more than me, lol. Can you use SSI to include a page from a subdomain. Example: The main page is at http://www.sub.domain.com the included page is to be http://www.domain.com/headers/header1.html Hi everyone, I just had my web pages removed from Yahoo! Geocities recently, and I'm looking to find a new reliable web hosting service. I know I can find a list provided on any search engine, but the one I've chosen to sign up for (fateback.com) has been nothing but difficulty so far. For some crazy reason, everytime I try to upload a page to their server, I keep getting an error message stating that I don't have permission to upload to the directory. I've tried multiple times to contact their customer service, but I haven't gotten any responses. Additionally, I tried to send test emails to addresses which they said I could use for my domain, but those emails keep getting sent back. So, obviously this fateback.com service isn't very good at all. Also, I need to utilize one of those free web hosting services until I can get the site off the ground as I really don't have the money to put out for my site yet. Can anyone help me to find a good web hosting service for my site? I would really appreciate anyone's insight here... Also, thanks to eddy9, who helped me find some resources to brush up on my HTML knowledge. That first site you gave me was chock-full of some good information, and has helped me to do some really cool things with my pages. Anyway, thanks again everyone in advance for the insight...it would really be nice to give my web site a new home soon. Well i want to buy a domain but i dont know where to buy it.. i need a good one but cheap, can someone post some links... thank U for the help Hello, i just registered a domain name but have one issue Im using freehostia for my website uploading and got a .com addresss from go daddy. now ive changed the dns servers on the .com to reflect it to the freehostia where my site it. I noticed that the .com adress when i click on it shows the path of the index in the address bar like ex www.etcetc.com/site/welcome.html how can i not have that "site/welcome.html show up in the address bar? thanks hey, I know this question is out of place but i was not sure where to post it I have a person who has a domain name on geocities but geocities does not support PHP.. But i use www.000webhost.com and i was wondering if there would be a way to keep his exact domain name and build the site on the webhost server.. thanks On my website (www.mysite.com), when a user clicks on the register link, a new window opens that takes him to another domain (www.myreg.com) where he can register. When he's finished registering, the myreg.com window is closed. The requirement is that when he's finished registering, I need the myreg.com page to set a cookie somehow for www.mysite.com . Is this possible? Cheers, James Hey guys, I'm sure this had been asked a thousand times, and I know I can search Google and find answers. Which I have found some, but I seem to get a more straight forward answer when the people answering my question know my exact situation. So anyways: I have my bands website: www.aqueousband.com And let's say that I acquire www.aqueous.com. I have a hosting plan with godaddy for www.aqueousband.com and all of my files are on that hosting plan and I want to keep that domain name. So it would make the most sense to just make www.aqueous.com redirect to www.aqueousband.com ... right? So how would I do this? I was reading about 301 redirect, am I on the right track? I started to think, if I just bought a domain name I would just have the domain name and no hosting. So how do I put an index file on a domain name that has no hosting attached to it? There's gotta be a way! Hello there, i have a question about my domain name, i want to change the domain name to another one but also want to keep the files in it. example: http://DOMAIN1.Site.com/files/files2/123.php when someone visit this url, i want it to redirect to : http://DOMAIN2.Site.com/files/files2/123.php. Thanks in advance, waiting for your replies. Hello all, I am looking to place a search engine within the my home page so as that visitors can search the sites content. the problem is that my website is a sub domain (from a free DNS provider)and having trawled the web I can only find HTML source code to search top level domains (for eg Googles Custom Search Engine....). I have tried Googles CSE on another site (*.co.uk) that I run and it works perfectly, but not with a subdomain. I would be grateful if someone can tell me if this is possible and if possible where I can find the source code to insert into my home page so as that it can be searched thro' my site, regards munkyn I have a confirmation email address that goes out to my customers when they vote on my page to confirm there vote. I tested it with a yahoo and it seems like my confirmation emails are going into the junk folder. I am not blacklisted on any website. Here is my full header below... Can anyone figure out the problem?? I can post my full header from Yahoo if needed. As the title states, Is there any way to find out who a domain is registered too? Or even find out information on it etc? Hi, sorry for posting a simple question like this, I have searched and found no answers. I registered a domain with GoDaddy.com and since it is just personal, I have not paid for hosting and have chosen masked forwarding instead. My problem: I link to a few external websites but if you click on one of these links, the domain is still masked and while you navigate to the other address, my domain name is still in the address bar. Is there any way for people visiting my website to be able to click on a link and navigate completely away, i.e. have the new websites address appear in the address bar? Thanks Hey Just a quick question i'm new to creating websites and html, i've written the code for the website I was wondering how you add all the pages to your domain. ex. you have yourdomain.com how would you add yourdomain.com/page1 yourdomain.com/page2 and have it go to those pages? Thanks Josh |
