HTML - New To Creating A Website With Html
Hey there,
Say I want to create a website by myself, using my own HTML code. How would I do this? I am pretty good with HTML, and know quite alot. But when it comes to finding somewhere to place all the code, it confuses the hell out of me lol. So, a few questions. - What programme is the best for writing your code into? - Once I have saved the code in this programme, how do I upload it through the FTP? (like, where do I place it?) - Is that it, or is there more to it? Cheers guys, Preemo Similar TutorialsHello All, I am looking to create a website very similar to this http://www.loserstatus.com/ that is my friends site and I currently have this www.canapictures.com . Does anyone know if there is a template or something I can use to make something similar, I mainly just want the scrolling box with pictures that are linked to videos like he has on the top of the page below the banner. I am wanting to create a website/forum that looks quite neat/good, I've never had experiance doing this before so I am a new to all this stuff, I tried to learn this before but only got a home page completed. - I'm wanting to create a home page but just linking to a forum, like for example ( when someone goes onto my website it will say 'Website will be is down due maintiance so click here to go the Forum. - Then I'll maintiance the website such as the home page, ect.. Please try help me to design/create this forum/website. Thank you very much Sean Hi, I'm looking to create a simple booking form on a html website. It needs to generate an email containing the details for the website owner, as well as show confirmation to the form user that it has posted successfully. I'm trying to establish the best/easiest way of doing this? I have a fairly good grasp of html - but would this involve programming outside of html? Javascript perhaps? If you could point me in a direction it would be much appreciated, Thanks. This will be my first website, aside of simple projects from my school class. A friend of mine has a website that is currently already up an running. He would like the site completely re-done, as he moved his company, has new offers, etc. Is the best way to do it, to re-write/edit from scratch, or to use a free website builder? I have beginners html/css/Javascript writing knowledge, and have been searching online when I need help. Let's say he already has a website called www.5star.com If I use a free website builder, will I be able to transfer all that to his domain name he already has so it doesnt become something like www.freewebsite/hostme/5star.com ? He is getting the FTP info from the guy who originally made his site. Thank you. (I have been working it from scratch and have a lot done, but want it to look great, and not just a plain static site). Hey everyone! I don't know much about HTML so please be gentle in responding. I'm setting up a form for online donations for the organization I work for and we're using Paypal to receive the donations. The problem is that I need to be able to let people designate their donations to specific projects and such but Paypal won't do that. I know that I can set up a form on our website that allows them to select the different projects, put in the amounts and then have a box at the bottom giving the total donation. The problem I have is that whenever they fill out this form and move on to the Paypal payment page, they have to re-enter the total donation on the Paypal payment page. I want to eliminate this step, if possible. My question is this: Is there a way to have the total donation amount copied and pasted onto the Paypal payment page so they wouldn't have to re-enter it? Thanks for your help in this matter! Jason Hello I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but I'm trying to figure out how to make my website more easily maintainable. EG On my site there is a bar on every page with my "latest updates", every time I want to add an update I have to add it to every page which is tiresome. I was wondering if I can just have this bar point to a text file on every page so I can just update this one file and it will be displayed on all pages. Hopefully this isn't too difficult, thanks. I would like to start a credit card website, but I don't know much about html/web design. I am offering someone professional to help build me a website. The site must look like this site: credit-land.com , mainly referring to its templates & color. In addtion, I would like another website, somewhat similar (but not a clone) to this one: get3creditcards.com , so that I can distribute copies of that site to my affiliates to help promote my products. This means, when their affiliate application get approved, I will send them the site to put under a domain name. Also, I need for someone to help set up a tracking system for my affiliates, so they can track their earnings. And I believe this has to be another site? page? If anyone's willing to accept this offer, please PM me or email me sac25274 @ gmail.com and let me know your service price. Thank you very much. I had created a php page but the server is so old that it doesnt support php. I want a page with a simple leftnav and I need to add a photogallery with thumbnails... anyone have any advice for me? Are there any good free templates out there that could do all this for me? Or maybe some good tools? Thanks in advance Hi people! I am semi-new to html, and have tried to figure this one out on myself, but it just doesn't seem to work! So I am trying to create a layout for my photo blog, with these standards: * images that I post auto-resize to squares [100*100] * when you click on the image it will show you the full sized version optional: * on the homepage you get the option to click on 'ANALOG' and 'DIGITAL' That's all! It can't be that hard right, am I over-seeing something? I want to use this layout on tumblr, blogger, wordpress, or any other free platform! I have a link right here to give you an idea of what I'm talking about: http://www.oscaralexander.com/lomo/lowlands-08-08/html/ [they aren't squares, I know] I am working on a website that deals with a form for an electronic check. I pretty much know how to do the code for getting the values, etc, I just do not know how to create the actual forms. I have to create the pages in Visual Studio 2008. Here is what I have to create: The first image explains what is supposed to be in each field of the form. The second image is what it is supposed to look like after the user inputs information to the form. And here is what the result is supposed to be after the user clicks the preview button: So like I said, I know how to do most of the coding, I just have no idea how to manipulate Visual Studio to make the forms look like, or at least similar to, the pictures I posted. I have experience in html and css and some in javascript. So that is not really the issue. I just do not know Visual Studio too well. It seems like there is something easy and/or obvious that I am missing. I played around with VS for several hours earlier and I could not make anything that looked similar the images. I then need to take that information and populate another form which is an invoice. So far I haven't been able to accomplish this on my own because I have the Regform.html, which already post info to a regform.php (this is what generates an email to me with the registration info). It is on that regform.php form they have the option to have a invoice created. Since I can't nest forms together I have to use this cookie method. The html cookies I have found online have not given me anything more then the generic cookie in which to place on someones pc. No knowledge of JS doesn't help. These are the fields below that need to link from the regform.html to the invoice.html form. I just realized that I have multiple lines on the invoice for multiple registrants but the same is not true on the regform. Even if I could get the first group of info to carry over, I could then edit the regform to add multiple registrants on the next lines. www.ahtcsonline.com/regform.html www.ahtcsonline.com/regform.php www.ahtcsonline.com/invoice.html Which Class: -drop down- Date of Class: # of Attendees: -drop down- Attendee Name: E-Mail: Company:* Address:* City:* State: -drop down- Zip:* Phone:* Hi, I am new to HTML coding and I would like to create a new search box which tells if that particular item can be found or not. The below is what I have for my code and the look is actually very good. However, when I tab from the subject line to the body, the cursor ends up at the beginning of my centered image. From there, the image moves when I type. What I'm looking to have happen is for the image to be static (un-movable) and the cursor to actually start positioned below the image with a left justification. Does anyone have any ideas?
