HTML - Swf Link Not Working In Ie?

Hello. I'm having this rather frustrating problem. I'm using GoLive to build a really simple site. For some reason, I've been having problems with random text links not working. In checking the code, everything looks okay to me. It works in IE, but I won't even get any indication (when it's moused over or clicked on) that a link exists when it's open in Firefox. The problem is evident in preview, and live.

Okay so I am working on a website and on the services page I used anchor tags to jump to places on the page. They all work great except for one. The page validates and I dont see anything any different from that markup to all the other markups I have done. It is up on a test server at www.vsncom.com/melkay/services.html The link thats not working is underneath the Electrical maintenance block and it is the link to go back to the top. Also on the entire site. The map page, contact, and services all shift slightly to the left. The pages all use the same css...any ideas? or is it just an optical illusion?

Hi there,

I'm experiencing a strange problem in IE with the show-hide layers behavior. I have 4 layers, each with images inside them which are meant to link to other pages. This works fine in Firefox but not so in IE. The odd thing is that when you hover over the images in IE the link appears in the status bar and if you right click and choose "open link" it does work. The site is here www.patons.org/v2/ and its the images at the top that I'm talking about. Any help would be much appreciated.

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 to create a site, by default i have learnt that when you use an image as a link to another page, dreamweaver creates a coloured border around your linked image.
I have since been able to get rid of this border by adding border="0" into my img tag however this now has caused my rollover not to work before clicking on the image to take you to the linked page.

this is my code; any ideas how i can fix this?

How do I need to change it such that a new instance of the browser is used in which the linked site is displayed.

Hi, I'm newly registered and seeking some assistance. I'm working on a website for a client and come across an issue.

The following is my iFrame code:

I have a link that is at the bottom of the page that is supposed to load in the iFrame when clicked upon. The code is as follows:

 <a href="somelink.html" target="framez">some link</a>

What I want is when the link is clicked that it loads in the iframe (this works as intended) AND I want the page to scroll up to the iframe. I tried doing this without success:

 <a href="somelink.html#iframez" target="framez">some link</a>

This is interpreted as #iframez in somelink.html, and not the page its on. Is there any way around this?

Ive been working on a website in my free time, and I have been wondering if it's possible to hover over a link, and change the text color of another link. A picture of one of my web pages is shown in the link below.

I want to be able to hover over something from the side navigation bars and have various links in the bottom naviational bar change color. So like hovering over Blood Elf, would make Death Knight, Mage, Paladin, Warlock, Priest, Rogue, Hunter turn red

for info: im coding my own html in notepad, not using any programs or anything and my hosting doesnt support php etc

im fairly new to html, i need a code to make a link so when it is clicked on it opens the page in a new window. i completely forgot how to do this.

Hey folks.
So i'm pretty new to all this...so bare with me.

but i would like to make a link where when the viewer clicks on it, it will redirect them further down the page. For Example: you click on "pictures" and then it will auto scroll you further down the page to where the pictures are.

What is the html to do this?

I am a noobie on building sites. I have been messing with my site for a few months now. I am trying a new image rotator that has clickable buttons in it however I can not get them to link to something. Please tell me how I can link this tag so it goes to the desired location:

I hope somebody here can help me. I have altered a PSD web template and saved it using ImageReady as html and images. When I open the html page in Dreamweaver, I can see the page as I have done it. When i clik on the first image and insert a link for it, the page shifts out of place. Anybody any idea why?

Okay, i have a menu down the left side of my webpage with numerous buttons.
i want it so when i click a button, the image in the centre of the page will change to the image assigned to that button without opening a new page.

any ideas?

I have the following line in a php document and for whatever reason the "ENTER" text shows up in Firefox as a hyperlinked word but in IE it just shows up as normal text (however clicking on the text in IE still launches the swf). Can anyone offer some insight into how to remedy this problem?
