HTML - Can Someone Assist Me At Removing Code From A Link?
Hey guys, completely new here just learning how to do basic html. I'm excited, just hope I don't get lose that as I get futher into it. Anyhow does anyone know what I can remove from this embeded link for a video I uploaded. I uploaded using Yahoo Video, seems to be no limits on time and the quality seem decent enough. I was able to remove a few things that Yahoo put, but I would really like to disable the "I" (info button) and the email button if possible, and the "Big Y" at the top right corner. There was a issue, that when you maxed the video, then hit escape to go back, it would restart the video, and take you to yahoo and replay it. That was not good, I'm glad I found the option to disable the max video. Anyhow here is the code, thank you:
<div><object width="512" height="322"><param name="movie" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="AllowScriptAccess" VALUE="always" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><param name="flashVars" /><embed src="http://d.yimg.com/static.video.yahoo.com/yep/YV_YEP.swf?ver=2.2.46" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="512" height="322" allowFullScreen="false" AllowScriptAccess="always" bgcolor="#000000" flashVars="id=19390192&vid=7411290&lang=en-us&intl=us&thumbUrl=http%3A//l.yimg.com/a/p/i/bcst/videosearch/14468/106621986.jpeg&embed=1" > Similar TutorialsGreetings Again, My page is hosted he http://dmrosemark.webuda.com/index.html So Greetings Again, My page is hosted he http://dmrosemark.webuda.com/index.html So what I want to do is to remove the link attribute from the buttons like <commercial> <FineArt> <personal> <Bio> <contact> <friends> so that they just rollover to the menu. I think this is the code but I am not su div id="Layer-8"> <a href="Commercial.html"><img src="Layer-8.jpg" alt="Commercial" border="0" height="42" width="127" /></a></div> what should that code look like? Thx in advance, D.M. Rosemark I have had this problem on almost all the websites I've made and I'm too picky to let it go... When I make the navigation images/buttons for a website, I set the border to zero as usual and link each image to its respective page. But, when I click on the image to take me where it's supposed to, this pesky dotted border appears around the edge of the image after it has been clicked and it remains there until I click on something else on that page. (This also happens to text links when clicked, but I'm not too worried about the text links.) For the websites I've made that go to an entirely new page after an image link is clicked, the dotted line appears around the linked image after it's clicked and before the next page has loaded, but then after the new page loads the dotted line is gone. But, for websites I have built that utilize frames, because the new page that loads is in an iframe, and because the page the navigation buttons are located on never changes, the dotted border stays around the image after its been clicked and, like I mentioned earlier, doesn't go away until I click on something else on that same page. An example of this can be seen when you click the images in the navigation column along the left side of a website I built located at the following URL: http://www.djprogress1.com/ This border problem could be specific to my website browser (I use Firefox), but I am not sure. And the border could be added entirely by the browser and there may be no way to get rid of it through coding, but again, I am not sure of this. So, does anyone know if anything can be done to fix this or am I stuck with these dotted borders? Thanks, Jase I have been trying to remove it for the next 2 hours, removing, adding and all kinds of stuff. I don't know where I am going wrong could any of you point me in the right direction please. The image below shows what I want to do. Here is the uploaded template. If you do not wish to download this I can always copy paste the html and post in a comment or PM. http://www.box.net/shared/hiixy2o64r Thanks in advance. Hello, This question is probably been asked so many times but i still do not understand it so i'm going to ask again if it's already been asked in forums already. I've got a website with many pages where the homepage has many links. e.g. home.html, about.html, contact.html etc... The navigation structure of these pages are the same hence while i'm coding it, i ended up copy/pasting same code across all pages in order to establish the navigation structure. Additionally, i have a copyright section (at the bottom of page) which i include in all pages. Problem is how can i write my code to have it this structure but not allowing duplicate code. Without duplicate code i can reuse code in future. .................................................................................................... ........................ I've heard people suggesting using php includes but that would mean my site turning into php (server side stuff). Is there another method? I clearly do not want to go down the php route (as requested by my client, his own web server does not support server side technologies, kinda weird but its their internal thing & my job is just to design the site and this is what i've been told) So preferably if it can be avodied i would avoid into php. Therefore i am asking is there a way that can be done with simple html or even javascript perhaps? I have several links on my site, all in the form of <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com">mywebsite</a> How do I need to change it such that a new instance of the browser is used in which the linked site is displayed. See printscreen attached.. (bottom right corner...) and http://www.navigationrus.com/product...76a6b3ebe5b97f Been trying to figure it for a day... I am creating a website and I already have: a stream of content, a domain and web hosting, and a general idea of what I want. I am only in need of one thing: a proper layout for my website. So far, this has been the hardest part for me. I would like for my layout to be in html but I am open. The problem is that simple things are very easy but look like they're from the 1990's, and there is a large spike in the learning curve to get to a modern design. I am working on it through cpanel if that helps you to help me. I would like to create a game website. Not game reviews but free flash games. I am having trouble finding/creating a website layout that would fit my needs. I would like 3 types of pages that I could just change the content in to create a new web page. 1st: a main page that has links to the "category page" where the links are pictures arranged in a grid fashion. 2nd: a category page with individual game links arranged as pictures in grid fashion. 3rd: I want an individual game page where games are actually played. Is there a comprehensive tutorial you could give me? I find may are very very basic or complex small parts of a website. Is there a free layout that can be easily fashioned to my needs? I find many that are very purpose built and hard to modify or have a lot of junk attached to make it free. Is there a website where you can "create a layout"? (Say you want it to be red, drag a certain element, add an image, copy code to your website.) Would anybody be personally willing to help me with this? Also, for my website, I would like some help with server side things (I think it's called?). Don't you need that to have comments or a rating system? I am trying to put a couple small banner ads on my website as well but I run into another problem. Ad companies don't take sites under construction. Is there a way to save a small space for them and then when I am accepted, apply the ad to that space without personally going to each page and modifying the code? Thanks! Hello again I need to open a page of text from a text link as its too much on one page What is the code please to do it and I gues I have to find the page address too and upload the page with ftp? Thanks Hello all. I am making a page about logic gates. I have came up with the following code to set a link target: Code: <a name="And"></a>|<font size="+2">And gate</font> The problem is that I am not sure where to place this code in the first code I posted. Hello, I am looking for a piece of HTML that would stop the scrollbar from automatically resetting to the top of the page once the link has been clicked and the new page is visible, as the website i am currently building is a portfolio container of sorts, and I have a load of images that I wish to appear to be on the same web page but when the "next" button is clicked it is merely taking the viewer to an entirely new page built of identical code but for the different image content. I want the scrollbar to stay at the bottom of the screen (I have a page that is 1063px high with the images at the bottom) once links have been clicked on, and I would be very grateful if somebody in the know has the time to reply. here's the as-yet unfinished web page. http://www.alexhaines.co.uk/footprints.html - click the links to the different housing projects (currently only the brevoort button works :-/ ) to see what I'm talking about specifically with the scrollbar defaulting back to the top. However, I don't want users to know the actual address(directory) where my file exists on the server).
