HTML - Scrolling Table And Text Input.
Hi all. I'm and HTML Newbie and am building a quick and easy site for someone. The way I typically do it for these type of "brochure" style sites is to simply lay everything out in photoshop. Slice it up save as HTML and then edit in Dreamweaver. Here is the HTML as it is now:

In the first Table I'd like to be able to put text in there and have it scroll. How do I do this? I've already tried putting a div style="overflow:auto; tag around the first table but that definitely didn't work. Any suggestions? Bare in mind I know NO CSS and only the basics of HTML. Thnx I'm making a website which will include a gallery of several images, in addition to a navbar. I would like to be able to put the images and corresponding text in a little thing that can be scrolled through independently from the overall page; I'd like the navbar to be a permanent fixture on the page. I'm sure my terminology isn't correct, but we've all seen this sort of site before, right? Thanks! Hey all. First post here, but I've been around for a few weeks, just not registered. Actually I have a problem. I am using Dreamweaver to make a website. In the News page, I put a scrolling textbox using the div tags and it all worked pretty well, but now I would like to edit that textbox, customize the look of it. I've seen it done in other sites, but I'm not sure its HTML. Actually what I want to do is change the BG color, change the color and style of the scoll bar (For example a red dot instead of the original blue/grey bar, if its possible). I know I've seen on another site, someone changed the bar, he made it more square and changed the color or opacity, kindda what I want to do. If you have a page will all the codes, which is probably hard to find, that would be the best Also, I tried adding a border with <div style="overflow=auto [etc] border=3px solid" but it didnt change a thing. I am looking to create a verticle scrolling box that has a thumbnail inside and text to go below it. I am looking to have say other website screen shots with a short description below, all hyper linked. The thing is i would like to add multiple thumbnails and text. Would using a marque be the correct way to go about doing this? or is there other ways? Any help is appreciated, i am a novice so any help and guidence is great. What is the appropriate code to position the box using the image as the reference point, not the corner of the screen so the text always goes to the same spot on the screen. Thanks Alright, I'll admit up front that while I know very bare basics of HTML, I mostly just deal with Photoshop and the like, so I'm not much of a webmaster. That being said, here's my question: I have a site split up into tables, and I would like to place a scrollable section in the middle (where I can put whatever amount of text I need), but also place a non-scrolling image behind it. Does that make sense? If not, then I could try to explain further. Any help would be great. It seems kind of annoying to be scrolling forever. Ideally, the text would scroll 3 times and then disapear. Any help would be great. I know i can't use onLoad directly in the input tag and, searching on the web, i found that i have to use onLoad on the body element - something like this: <body OnLoad="document.myform.mytextfield.focus();"> The problem is i have multiple text inputs sharing the same name (they are cells in a table) so i can't use the input's name. But i do know it's the last element with that name (the last row in the table). So, how can i focus it? I hope you can help me, everything i tried didn't work. Thank you. Hi everyone, What I am asking is more complicated than the thread title says. Can someone please tell me how, or post some code to show how I can make input fields with these properties: 1. Make text appear in an input field whilst off focus but dissapear whilst on focus, re-appear again if put back on focus. 2. The user can type text in the field and edit it and when the input field is off focus the text he wrote remains there. 3. If the user completely erases the text he wrote and puts the input field off focus the default text (stated in 1.) re-appears. 4. I am currently struggling to find a simple sollution to the following issue. I want to render out a text input box in HTML that will have a block (with borders) for every character. I can think of really tedious solutions that will involve a table with an input tag per cell but this will be nasty if something else is available. The solution is only for IE and cannot involve any ActiveX components due to security issues. So is there any easy way to basically create internal borders in an input or textbox tag that will separate the characters for me? Thanks. Hello.... I'm creating a form framed in a table. I want to have 2 textboxes and 1 select box in one row of the table. The Last Name, First Name and Age. When I create the row the fields are fine, but there's spacing after each field that I need to decrease in size to allow everything to fit correctly. The thing is that when a user select an option from the "select opcion" tag, according to the option selected I want to print some input text in the form .. how can i do that?. Thks a lot! |
