HTML - Basic: How Do I Make Links To Just Be Text?
I just need a basic code for this. For what I presume is basic anyway.
On MySpace, I'll insert links, and MySpace will automatically make it a hyperlink, but won't allow you to visit certain links that you click on. How do you prevent it from being a link and so that it's just text? I thought <nohtml> worked, but apparently it doesn't exist. Would help me out loads, thanks, Sam/. Similar TutorialsCan i just place some html in between the head tags or ?? to make the text change to arial for example? Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right area. This is my first time posting here. I currently have my main pages listed at the top of my site as graphics (see fussybaby.ca). I would like to potentially remove these graphics and use text links instead - I had the graphics designed for me, so I can't just go in and make new ones, however I'd like to change/rearrange the links and add some new ones. So my question is: How hard is this to do? Is this something I need to hire someone to do for me? Thanks in advance for any advice! I currently have my sponsors listed like this (at the bottom of the page) http://www.ballermag.com/ But I would like to upgrade this part of my website to look something like this: http://www.sportanddev.org/ Any advice about the html code for this style would be appreciated! If its as easy as that. Not sure how much is involved with building a block like the one on that page... I'm guessing its more difficult than just copying the code. Here it is now: http://acidtripmediaproductions.com/lmi/links.html What can I do to it so that it doesnt look so plain? I was going to take banners/logos of the few companies & make them a image with a link to the website, but not all of the websites had a really good image or logo that would work. What other tricks can I try? Hi All I am making some new pages for my websites and want them all link together. They are all coded to reached the main page by tag but also want each of the new pages to link together. So I guess my question is Will I have to add a new tag such as How to make multiple links all connect and so on on each new page..... Thanks for your help Hi all im really new to html. I guess this question is really basic to the expert html ers but just need a bit of help. I want to add some text say i got a
tag and want to write just a sentance such as ..
I am learning html, it uses tags like this <a,b> which can load images etc.
of course a,b isnt a tag, but if i load this basic text in a web browser it would ignore the <a,b> and come up as validation error in the validator. So pretty much is there a way around of displaying <any letters or words> without the browser thinking its some sort of tag? thanks for the help! I am working on making a website, and learning as I go. I have been trying to figure out how I would make links and images appear in the same section of many different pages using code. Is this possible in HTML/CSS, which are the only languages I have any experience in. If you need anymore information, let me know and I'll add more details. Hi, I am trying to figure out how to make my links stay on the left side page while scrolling down or up. Not sure if this is the right place to post. Any help, codes, and/or examples would be great. Thanks Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me? I wish to produce a website which works in the following way: The header and footer remain the same, and do not reload on page refresh. Then, links on a menu bar stimulate loading a new page, however only the content below the header changes. An example of this, is the CushyCMS website (http://www.cushycms.com). When you click the menu links, the header doesn't reload, only the page content does. How would I do this? My reason for wanting this method, is because I wish to have an image slider present within the header of all of my pages, and I don't wish to have to update every page each time I wish to add an image. Please help? Many thanks, Luke Hi, this is appleguy.......6142! I was wondering how to make a text box display something somewhere else for example (This does not work)---- ------------------------------------------------------------------ [page1.html] (Pretend this is a text box)>>> [Text Text Text...] [page2.html] -This is the text displayed in the text box->>>Text Text Text... HOW DO I DO THAT PLEASE HELP!! Ok, so I've made a site for my Dad's business but one thing is really starting to **** me off, when I rollover text hyperlinks I can put my mouse between the text like if there's a "n" i can put my mouse like inside the n and it won't go to the hover and underline properly, it only underlines once I've put my mouse on the actual text, and it just doesn't make any sense... (www.garlandsails.co.uk) go to the narrowboats page and if you rollover the links on that page you'll see what I mean, any help is appreciated, Thanks, Jack Hi, I'm designing a web page that contains two frames. One of these frames contains some text and when I click this text, I want it to open a new web page in each frame. As far as I can tell, this means giving two links with two different targets to the same text and I've tried wrapping the text with two tags, but to no avail. My current pages look something like this: Quote: This is the HTML code for my frames page:
<frameset cols="42%,*"> <frame name="table" src="table.html"> <frame name="image" src="image.html"> </frameset>
Quote: This is the relevant code in table.html, the page that contains the text which has to open a link in each frame: This is supposed to open both links I've tried with having only one or both closing tags and neither of them work. What happens is only the first link, 1.html, opens in the "table" frame. The second link is completely ignored. I might be doing this completely wrong but I'd appreciate any help or pointers as to what I should do to fix this. Thanks! Hey all, Im trying to put a html link in a html textbox, yet its not working, the code is not active, it just shows what ive typed. When I place links on my bands myspace page the link text displays on the page vertically instead of horizontally on some computers. It displayed correctly (Horizontally) on the PC I created it on, but when i view it on other PCs the text was vertical. Here is the page. It's the white text near the top. Only seems to be a problem in FireFox. Here is the offending page: http://packlife.co.uk/news.asp By the way, the content is generated by the client via content management, otherwise I would stick in a
. Thanks, Kev I'm trying to position text, links and pictures to follow one after the other, but it doesn't work. I want to see "Homepage" on the left corner of my webpage "Next" on the right corner of my webpage Unfortunately this command doesn't work properly.
Home
Next

It makes the "Next" go down a line, instead of being in the same line of the "Homepage". Also, on that vein, is there any way I can align images and text on the same line without using spaces*? As in:
Hello

Hello

Hello
But they all should stay on the same line. Any guides, or even links to tutorial about my issue would be appreciated. I've been trying to google for a while, it's becoming frustrating. *I think the problem with spaces is that people with different resolution would see the text in different places than I want them to see. I would like to have some text and/or image appear on a page. And at a date/time have it disappear/expire. Is this possible? Is it html or a script? Any direction would help THANKS! Dave I need to have this text in html. I need only the text, no table. My problem was, that when i changed the fontsize, a new paragraph was created. But i want it on one line. Thanks for your help. Hello, I want to create a large text box. I have the following code: Code:
And here is the relevant CSS: Code: .CellInput { background-color: white; border: none; color: black; font-family: verdana,Arial,tahoma,sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px; padding: 2px 2px; text-decoration: none; text-align: left; vertical-align: bottom; white-space: normal; } .CellInput INPUT, .CellInput SELECT, .CellInput TEXTAREA { border: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; } The box that my code generates is nice and tall...but you can only type in the first horizontal row...you can't press enter and go down to lower rows. I don't know whether there's something wrong with the box, and/or there's something somewhere preventing me from using enter. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could modify the above to make a nice, tall, usable box? I don't see anything that specifies height in the CSS above! I am still an HTML newbie, so it is very possible (probable?) that I am missing something obvious. Thanks in advance! |
