HTML - Html Beginner, Need Help With Something Simple, Dont Know What Its Called:/
Hello,
I am very new to HTML. I am trying to develop a website with an image in the background. Suppose the image is simply ALL black. My text is also all black. I am trying to create one of those mini squares in between the background and the text of the website, and this 'mini square' will be white or some other color so the text will appear normally. Then, I can possibly have several different 'mini squares' in different colors and I will be able to add text to them, and it wont be hard to read the text even if the text and the background are the same color... So can anyone guide me and tell me what this is called and how I would add the most basic of these 'mini squares'? I apologize for my lack of terminology, I just started getting into HTML 3 days ago. Yes No Page 3 (if you click on Yes) Which of the following symptoms does the patient have? a. rigors b. chills c. neck rigidity d. other (text box to enter your free text) Now what I need help with is, that if the user chooses D and enters their free text, I want it to show up on the next page as part of the next question.... 1. So e.g Used enters "hypotension" in the free text box, I want the next question on the next page to be able to say "What is the duration of the hypotension?" I would also like it so that at the end of the process the user can end up with a list of all the symptoms, both picked and free text as a summary. Hey, I built an email newsletter for a friend of mine using GoLive! It was fairly simple he wanted a header graphic and a green box on the left where he could put information about classes he was teaching/things relating to the articles in the email newsletter. Problem is... is that none of the ways I found to build it would come through safely in any email client, be it gmail, thunderbird, or otherwise. I was hoping to find one of two things: a good template we could paste his stuff into, or a free program that we could build his newsletter that would be generally readable in most mail clients. What advice would you offer to me, I'm not extensively familiar with HTML again, i just recently got back into it after a break (too long, cuz i know little to nothing now except how to pick apart and analyze code, just not how to build from scratch!) I just have three quick questions about HTML coding: 1. Whenever I apply an image as a background, it shows up on the sides next to the center column thing, but it also shows up in the content area in the middle. How do I make it show only on the sides? 2. I made a horizontal navigation bar with buttons that show a different background and text color when you hover over them. However, it goes like a pixel or so whenever I hover over it, like the image below. How do I prevent this and make it stay the same height as the actual navigation bar? 3. I once encountered a realy simple "CMS" system. somehow there was an area on "index.htm" that called in a .txt file and displayed it. what would the code be to do this? I thought about Iframes but this is depricated nowadays. Also I want to use this method (if it exists) to build an admin area which writes to the afore-mentioned .txt file in order to make simple updates to the text on the site. Can I do this?
