HTML - Website Not Displaying Correctly In Ie
Hello. I have created a website: www.launchtechusa.com
It looks fine when you view it through mozilla or safari, but it gets distorted when you view it through internet explorer. Any reasons why this may be happening? Thanks for any pointers you can give! Similar TutorialsI'm new to HTML/CSS, and I thought I managed to get my website just right... until i tested it in IE. (I now understand why IE is the bane of our existence!) All versions of IE (and Opera, for that matter) make my divs display lower than I intended. My webpage is comprised of many divs, two of which are my main problem. I have two divs serving as the main content (one is an intro to the site, one is a calendar). I would like these two divs to be side by side, at the same height, roughly 10ish pixels below my navigation bar... this is easily achieved in firefox and safari, BUT in IE they get weirdly pushed down on the page. Also, my title div has a habit of being shrunk in height from 175 pixels to around 25 in some versions of IE. This is causing much headbanging! In summary, I need suggestions on how to position my divs. Right now I am using absolute positioning for everything, but I have also tried relative positioning and using floats; however, no matter what I do, I end up with some other problem that I cannot solve, and these are too numerous to go into detail here. If you can help me, a million thanks! If you want to look at my code, the website is http://www.studentgroups.ucla.edu/tbsek THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for any ideas you have! Guys, i am in a real bind here. I recently redesigned my website & gave it a fresh look. Well apparently that new look has come with a cost! My homepage doesn't display correctly in IE6 or IE7. I am getting a lot of complaints about it & I have no clue how to fix it. I added a script to inform users that they were using an older browser that was outdated but a lot of my users cannot update their browsers because they are on work computers & what not. Can someone please help me fix this mess. My homepage URL is: http://www.biglake411.com/ The site displays correctly using firefox & IE8. The problem is with IE6 & IE7. Here are screen shots of each: Thanks in advance. Hey, I've tried to start coding a page with XHTML and CSS using divs to align everything, but I'm having all kinds of trouble getting stuff to align and then getting it to align in more than one browser. Here is the page and CSS: http://dzapp.com/ http://dzapp.com/DZStyle-V1.css Any kind of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Here is the link: http://www.averytrips.com/socal.html I've got a TR with a background image applied to it. The background image is supposed to look like this: http://www.averytrips.com/trbg.png Clearly the TDs are messing it up, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. Hello to all, as a first time user of this site. I use Namo WebEditor 8 and have just spent over 3 hours trying various things to get my navigation buttons to work. Within the edit function (non html) everything is ok display wise. On full preview i get extra blank lines. I have around 9 pages (as headers), one works and eight that don't. Below i have included the full code for 2 of my pages. I am out of touch with reading html now, but i am simply trying to help a playgroup charity out so any help appreciated. Hi Maybe it's just on my computer, but my site's not coming up right in Firefox the last few days. It works fine in other browsers. Can anyone see a fault in my coding to explain why there is no info appearing in the "Tommo's Trivia" box? The site is at http://www.billygoatkaraoke.com.au Thanks for taking a look. Shaun OK, I've really been tearing my hair out with this one and now getting frustrated beyond beliief! LOL. I have as a bolt on within my phpBB2 (v2.0.22) forum a Mass email HTML MOD (uses a program called MICE). Now, my forum style is Aphrodite and I have successfully got this into a draft email yet when I go to preview the email, everything is set-out perfect. Once it gets sent to any email client, ie Hotmail, Yahoo mail, etc, etc, a lot of the style gets stripped making it all look very messy. Best way to explain this is by screenshots. The below is how it SHOULD look (small section of the email): And this is how it looks in email clients (same section): This is the header from the html file: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" http-equiv="content-type" /> <title>screwball newsletter 1</title> <link rel="STYLESHEET" href="http://www.screwballscrabble.co.uk/forum/templates/ca_aphrodite/style.css" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> I'm hoping it's something that is easy to remedy as I've obviously overlooked something. Look forward to any responses. Thanks! I designed a website for a client. It shows fine on my mac in Firefox but the CSS isn't loading properly in Windows Browsers because the background and the Link details aren't loading at all. What could be the issue? http://kangazoomparty.com/kangazoom.html This is the website btw. What are the common issues with websites not being properly displayed in Firefox? Reason is due to my website being displayed correctly in IE but when switching to Firefox the site suddenly breaks apart. Any ideas? I just finished the rough draft for my new site. Everything looks fine in DW, but in the browser, it's all messed up! Can someone take a look and help me out? Take a look at the bullets about halfway down. http://nextlevelprofits.com/emailsecretsexposed/ Thank you SO much! I have a wordpress blog in which on the single post page the container div is non-existent and the sidebar and footer go into the content div. The page displays fine in firefox it only has the problem in internet explorer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is an example of the problem: http://purplemushroomreviews.com/gam...mption-review/ Hi, can anyone help me with this? My site shows in firefox but when it is viewed using internet explorer, parts are missing and everything is everywhere. I really hope someone can teach me how to correct it. Site is www.agraphix.com.sg Thanks! ps: i know my html is a mess, i'm not really good at it. =/ Robbie. My website doesn't render correctly in the WebKit browsers (Apple Safari and Google Chrome). It works as expected in Firefox, Internet Explorer versions 6 and above, and Opera. If you click here to view the site, it is the text on the left-hand side underneath the navigation menu that is proving problematic. This text is supposed to appear directly beneath the navigation menu, but when the site is viewed in Safari or Google Chrome, it appears at the very bottom of the page, where the blue background is. I have run the code through the W3C validator and after a bit of alteration, it came back saying there's no errors. What makes it confusing is that I didn't write the code myself and it is mainly table-based (I inherited it from a previous web developer). I am currently working on a brand new layout for the website which will solve the accessibility problem completely, but for the time being we have to continue using the current layout. Does anyone know if there's a quick fix which will get the text on the left-hand side to display correctly in WebKit browsers? This has been bugging me for a while now and I'd really like to get it fixed. Is there anything obvious that I've missed? Thanks in advance for any help. Hello everyone. I have just stumbled across this group whilst investigating an issue I am having with a website, what a great resource you have here. I look after the website for my local volunteer fire brigade and I have maintained it for a number of years without any major problems. However in the last couple of weeks it has become apparent that the website is not loading all of the frames for the pages. This appears to only be an issue when browsing with Internet Explorer, as it all looks fine in Firefox. The website is located at http://www.mvcfs.asn.au/ It is only very basic, as that is my current level of HTML programming, I am considering changing to an alternate web layout program like Wordpress, however I haven't looked too much into the details of it yet. I have tried loading this page in I.E. on a number of different computers and they all suffer the same problem, I am currently using version 8.0.600 right now and it is not working, the Firefox version I am viewing it on is 8.0 and that appears to work ok. Is anyone able to suggest a possible solution to this issue, I haven't made any significant changes to the site in the last couple of weeks, so I am not sure why this problem has suddenly come up. Thankyou for your assistance. Regards Matt Hello, my name is North, and my website is not displaying correctly in IE. I am putting this here because my website is build with php, but the actual content on the pages are html, so i thought that this would be the place. http://north-see.com/judge/index.php?pid=0 this is the link to the site. I am making it for a persons book. Any ideas? Any common things that happen like this in IE? Hi guys this is my first post here, hope you can help. I am currently designing a websitefor the company I work for and the first page is almost completed with the exception of a little glitch. When the page first loads there are a few elements that are in the wrong place. Then when the page is refreshed these elements go where they are supposed to be. I have looked through the html and the css and can't find any problem as to why this is happening. I would really appreciate any suggestions as to why this is happening or how to fix it. If you need anything else just let me know and I'll post it. Thank you As you can see here Here is what it should look like but only does after hitting refresh Is it easy to do this? Basically I was thinking that my forum could be shown on someone else's site, but only certain parts of it. my host doesn't allow remote database connections so it's not possible to have a different forum accessing the same database. What difficulties would I encounter trying to do this? I am experiencing frustration due to the website that I've designed is being displayed perfectly in the Explorer browser, but in Firefox its all screwed up. Is it coding issues? My website is at www.wolfdenexpeditions.ca cheers I am a total newbie to this and so I have no idea what is going on. I downloaded a template from a wesite I forget which, but it looks great in IE, and Safari, however in Firefox, or Opera it is all screwed up. The site is www.ottersupport.com would somebody mind look at the code and let me know what i need to fix ? Thanks |
