HTML - Ie Makes More Spacing Between Text Compared To Firefox
Hi,
I have a site that goes over about 3 pages in length and in the IE the page is longer than in firefox. This is really annoying when you have next to the page a sidebar that is supposed to have the same length as the page but in the IE the sidebar does not reach the end of the page (because the page is longer due to larger spacing). To me it seems that IE makes more spaces between the text lines like h1, h2, p, etc. Is this a common problem and is there any solution to this? Similar TutorialsI've just used adobe browser lab to look at my website in windows browsers and it looks awful and I have no idea why. All my floats seem to have collapsed. Can anyone point me as to what I may have done wrong? I hand coded my website myself, but whilst working perfectly in IE, there are some problems when viewing it using Firefox. Specifically, the table rows have double-spacings (scroll down to the 'Education' section he www.lombrozo.co.uk/resume.html), and also table borders have a 3D look (a black border to emphasise the shadow), again, this shadow is not visible in IE... Hi, I am designing my first website by teaching myself HTML using google, etc, so I am very new to designing from scratch (without using Dreamweaver, etc). My webpage is not online yet, so I can't post a link - sorry! First, I am using .png image files which look great in Google Chrome, but when I check my page in IE, the images look horrible - very pixelated. Why is that, and is there a way to fix them? My only thought would be to use a "smoothed out" image such as a .jpg, however that might make the problem even worse. Second, I am using frames and in my main frame I'm using a table with text on the left column and an image on the right column. Again, in Google Chrome it looks great with the text at the very top of the frame/table, but in Firefox, there is tons of space at the top of the table which makes the text too "tall" for the window, and a scroll bar is necessary. I'm trying to have two text elements (p's, spans's, whatever) stacked vertically or as close as possible underneath one of other. I cannot for the life of me remove the gap in between. I've tried margins, padding, cellpadding/cellspacing, border-collapse, and still, nothing works. I've attached an example using primitive HTML. Anyone have any ideas? Hi, adding rows with the clear:both; attribute causes a huge slow-down and I need an alternative or a solution. I'm composing a friend's resume in html. I'm using nested divs to create a two column format. Each row is a div block that contains two smaller divs--one for each column. Each row uses the attribute clear:both; so that the next row will form cleanly beneath it. I am getting the desired format, but as I add more and more rows, the web browser becomes dramatically slower. 20 rows will make the page un-loadable and the browser crashes. I mostly just make small changes on Dreamweaver so I dont have to get a web guy for changing a sentence here and there. My issue: I almost always use Firefox and looked at my changes on this browser.... Once I looked at IE for my page, there are weird symbols. Does anyone know why this is occuring?
