HTML - Printing Data Displayed In Html

My problems: Q1: I am getting data from mySQL to populate fields to generate a report in html. The report are in two pages. Sometimes page two comes into page one. is there a way we can force page two to be only in page two. Q2: If I am printing only 1 page report, is there a way to force print (without changing print setting to print) into one page. I'm trying to develop a website to display weather. Its really quite simple; One computer runs some weather software which gets its data from a weather station, the weather software creates .jpg images of the data it receives and ftp's them every 60 seconds to a webserver that just has a simple html page displaying all of the 6 images on one page again refreshing every 60 seconds. This has been running for some time but I have recently been asked to include data from another computer that monitors tidal height. This computer also ftp's its data every 60 seconds to the same webserver but in a csv .txt file. I can display this txt file directly on the site in a iframe but its really badly formatted. What's the best way of formatting the data client side? I thought maybe with javascript, but its something I have never used before. thanks in advance, Nick Hi, Quite some time ago I was faced with putting a website together for the first time for a local community group (my wife nominated me!). Rather than tell you all what it contains and how it looks, it is probably easier for me to give you the link which is the Friends of Clifton Park based in South Yorkshire, UK. This website consists of eight html pages. The first is the index, second is the welcome page and the rest are linked pages via links on the left. On every of the "linked" pages, only the main body changes, with the exception of each link showing in Caps and link disabled. The problem I'm having is that every single one of the linked html pages are the same, except the displayed text. 90% is the page set-up. So my question is: Is it possible to "import" the required text information when a link is clicked on straight into the main body of ONE html page? btw, you'll notice that the page height isn't fixed, it expands depending on amount of information in it. I have tried IFRAME but don't really seem to be getting anywhere as I can't seem to make the height auto-adjust. A specified height value has to be entered for each "page". This is no good as more information will be needed to be put on. So basically what I am trying to do is: Keep the index.html Change the welcome.html to display the main page (graphics/images, etc) Import text into main body into the welcome.html page when a link is clicked on. Thus reducing the need of duplicate html pages and just having text files containing the main body text. The main reason for wanting to do this is a) stop all the duplication of page set-up in each html file, and b) make it easier for the guy that wants to add information where needed, straight into notepad (txt file) and upload it to the website. I hope all the above makes sense and if anyone requires further information, I will only be to happy to provide it! Thank you. Hi guys, i tried looking for help on tihs issue but could not find any. the problem is this: I have an image that is viewed in landscape. i want to make this printable, but when i print it, half of this landscape image is printed in portrait mode. is there any way i can set the print properties so that when the user goes to File>Print it will show the normal print options, and actually print in landscape? Can anyone tell me if this can be done please: When printing a html page from the internet it puts the: Pages Name Http Link Page Number Date around the edges of the page. Is there away of removing this so it just prints the content nothing else? I've managed to hide certain things using CSS and its "display:none" function so i was wondering if it can be done like this or any other way? Hey everyone, I'm currently implementing some tables with borders defined via a stylesheet. When attempting to print this in IE7 there appears to be an issue with the way the border is drawn. If there is a table element which is page broken in the middle and continues on a second page, the left and right borders do not appear until the second page. I have tested out my HTML table elements in Firefox and Chrome, and they both produce the correct layout. Here are screenshots of the print output in PDF. Both the pages should be strictly in HTML. Is there any way to do it? I understand that we cannot receive any data from a Form unless we use a server side language. I have two other versions of the HTML file that don't require XSL but they only half work. One displays everything I want but not in the right order the other displays in the right order but only displays the first TStamp and Entry. I am OK with running a javascript which imports the xml data into html and then just use those static html pages. But how will this work? I am new to this client side stuff and hence the questions. I am working on a code which requires me to convert a static html form data feeded/recorded by a user to save to a excel file. i have seen many examples of this using jscript or vbscript. Can someone walk me through this. e.g. html form contains 2 feilds name and place and a submit button. when you click submit button i want the values in the feilds say f1 and f2 to be saved to excel rows. Again i make changes to name and place and hit submit i need the same file appended with the next set of values by user. i appreciate your help. please comment on all functions or calls which saves form data to excel.
