HTML - Header Image Not Appearing Anymore?
Similar TutorialsHey everyone, hope your having a good a day! My header on my wordpress blog is appearing twice and I don't know why. It's fine on my homepage but on the other two pages, it appears twice! I would love some help with this but would prefer to PM my blog address if that's ok with you? Thank you, I really appreciate this because I'm a COMPLETE newbie and have no idea about html ect. Thanks again! Steve I've got the weirdest thing happening... An image on a site I'm working on doesn't appear on in Firefox on my computer when I view the site online. It's fine offline, and it's fine on other computers... including browsercam. It's also fine in IE on my system AND when I set up a guest system in VMWare I can see it in Firefox. So this probably isn't really an HTML question, just a "Have you ever seen this total weirdness?" question. I've rebooted repeatedly. The image is the photo of the sledders in the upper left corner at http://tourismwithkidsinnh.com. Hello there, Heres a question, I started a document and inserted flash using dreamweaver. Dreamweaver made an <object> tag and its <param> tags, Also it put an <embed> tag inside that whole deal. using HTML 4.0 Strict DTD, when i validated the document, the was an error that said: Code: The tag name: "embed" Not found in currently active versions.[HTML 4.0] I know that this little trick was used to make sure the flash would play in IE and FF and all browsers for that manner because of the different tag support. So with that said, how do we ensure today that the flash will play in all browsers if we cant use <embed> anymore with current active versions? Thanks in advance does anyone else have this problem? at work, we have Dreamweave MX Student edition. The tip/hint for coding seems to be enable, but when i type in css, there are no code hint. any help? NOTE: running on Mac OS X I wanted to add a header image to my Tumblr (blog) theme. This is a link to the theme I use so you can see what it looks like http://safe.tumblr.com/theme/preview/5136 Basically I wanted to have a rectangular image appear on every page on my site (kind of like this website and most others). I wanted it to be at the very top, above all links and appear on every page. I also want the image to be a link to the homepage (like the one here on htmlforum.com) Other than that if you could tell me what code I need to center everything instead of having it be on the left (as in the preview link) that would be great. I really don't know much about this stuff so thorough instructions will be much appreciated. I dont know whether to put this in HTML or CSS, but I will send my HTML if you want, it was just too long to paste here. Thanks a lot. why does my local copy of my site look like this http://img106.imagevenue.com/aAfkjfp...m_122_61lo.JPG but after I upload it to my webserver at http://shellsite.okinawapc.com it looks correct?? Http://www.nonvoicebpo.co.cc In the above site, the header image is not opening properly in Opera Browser, Header image as a small gap in the right side corner. Hi experts, would it be possible for any advice on a header issue please. I have created a website at www.ukdecals.com the website expands to fit most browsers and i've tried it in IE9 and Firefox, to me everything looks fine at my monitor settings of 1152 x 864 pxls But a friend has just sent me a screen shot from his screen on his computer in IE9 and the header seems to not be expanding in length across the page, would anyone one be able to view the source code and see if they could spy the problem, i've looked at it myself and i can't see it, but only learning html in the last couple of months, i'll admit that this ones got me stumped. I'd appreciate any help you could give. Kind Regards Jas.... i followed this help post http://www.htmlforums.com/html-xhtml...ie-108215.html, and i got to a certain point but now im stuck. I wanted to remove the big space that you see under the header. the link to my blog is http://kumarradio.tumblr.com. and the coding of the blog is posted as an attachment. heres the new line i added for a faster reference. <body> <h1 align=center><img src="http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/6729/newn.gif" id="" alt=""/></a> </h1> what should i change so that the space is removed ? Hi, I am trying to figure out why my background image is not showing up on my header... my website is http://www.mytodostuff.com I created the image to be 900px by 100px, and it should fit perfectly in the header div...but its not. Does anybody know why? i put the pic in my assets folder, its called 'banner.jpg' Hey Guys, I am a graphic designer and don't know much about HTML (but am taking a class and about to start a few books). I am using tumblr right now and I am try to replace the automated header ("black atom studio") with a jpg banner. Anyone know where in the HTML I would do this and what code I would need to swap in? (the website I am working at is www.blackatomstudio.com ) (not a plug, just incase you guys need to see what I am talking about) Here is the code I need help on. http://snipplr.com/view/8582/blackatoms-tumblr/ Hi all, I'm trying to make my background (which contains my logo and site name) to be clickable to my site's URL. Seem to be having difficulty because I am using a modified WordPress template along with linking to a stylesheet. Not very good or familiar with php and css, unfortunately. Anyone have some energy to crank this one out with me? sorry for being vague in my initial post. Here is the header php code: <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title>[TITLE]</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="<?php bloginfo( 'stylesheet_url' ); ?>" /> </head> Here is the css code: .header{margin:20px 0;} .header .top{background:url(images/logo-graphic.jpg) top left no-repeat; height:120px; width:960px; margin:20px auto;} .header .top #secondary{float:right; width:468px; height:60px; margin:20px 0 0 0; border:1px solid red;} .header .navigation{background:url(images/navigation-bar-bg.png) top left repeat-x; height:61px;} .header .navigation .nav-wrapper{width:960px; margin:0 auto; height:49px;} .header #searchform{float:right; width:325px; height:40px; margin-top:6px;} .header #searchform #s{font-size:14px; padding:6px 4px; border:1px solid #666; outline:none; -webkit-border-radius: 4px;-moz-border-radius: 4px;border-radius: 4px; -moz-box-shadow: inset 0px 1px 3px #888;-webkit-box-shadow: inset 0px 1px 3px #888;box-shadow: inset 0px 1px 3px #888; } I've seen (and cannot find again) a header piece of artwork that was justified a percentage distance from the left of the page. Another plain slither of header artwork was repeated seamlessly across the total width of the page. It went 'behind' the prime piece of artwork and reappeared. The 'joins' were invisible. The header seemed / appeared to be one piece of artwork that went across the page regardless of how wide the page was with the piece of artwork always remaining between the centre of the page and the left hand edge of the page. The distance of the piece of artwork got nearer to the left hand edge of the page the narrower the page got. How does one achieve that? Both images were hosted by ImageShack. I barely understand all that myself! My knowledgebase is a little above zero. Thanks in advance, MD. Hi all-- Even this seems like a stupid question to me, but I can't seem to figure it out. I've been creating a site for awhile now, with many images. I've uploaded all the images to the server, but some of them still aren't showing up. I've checked and rechecked my paths, links, that the images are uploaded, etc. and I can't figure it out. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason on images showing up or not. Here is one of the URL's: http://www.playdr.com/classicphotote...tanytease.html. (Keep in mind it is adult, but no nudity--I don't want to offend anyone) If anybody could give me ANY help at all, it would be greatly appreciated--this is driving me nuts. Also, I don't know if this is of any interest, but the server this is on just got updated, and I have had a little trouble with it so far, so I don't know if that might be a factor as well? Anyway, thanks again in advance for any help. Hey, I'm new here so I hope this is in the right forum. I am trying to make a program just to simply store information in a better fashion and presently cannot get an HTML file to appear in the right place. Also note that my experience in HTML programming is very basic, as in started-fooling-around-with-it-the-other-day-basic. Here is my code: Quote: <html> <head> <title>Title</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="main.css"> </head> <frameset frameborder="0" border="0" framespacing="0" rows="100,*"> <frame marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" src="html/message.html" name="top" scrolling="no" target="text" noresize> <frame marginwidth="15" marginheight="15" src="html/home.html" scrolling="auto" name="main" target="text"> </html> The layout will as message.html appearing as a horizontal window at the very top of the screen just show the most recent news and topics, index.html will appear on the left hand corner of the screen allowing links for navigation, and home.html will appear every where else in the center to bottom right hand corner of the screen. I have the links up and running for the index.html and can bring up new files that appear in the index frame but I need them to appear in the home frame, what is the line the line of code for this. Thank you for any help. I recently picked up some javascript code from an external site to set up a feedback form for the site I run; I did some messing about with it and came up with what is currently at the site: http://www.trekandromeda.com/Temp/feedbacktest.html . Trouble is, the left hand button (no matter which of the four is placed in that position) always appears as a very small one with no type on it. I have no idea what in the code might be causing this and would very much appreciate any help on this score. Thanks! Why favicon do not appear on this my page? http://www.astrosport07.webs.com/pakistancricket.html On some other pages of same website they appear, for example: http://www.astrosport07.webs.com/parcska2009.html Greetings, Goca Hi all, I have been trying in so many ways now to make the favicon appear in IE 6. It works fine in FF but not in IE. I made sure the name was "favicon.ico". I tried clearing my cache and readding the bookmark. None of them seems to work. Can anyone give any suggestions as to why it is not working? If there are HTML errors on the page or if the image size is too big would that prevent it from working. If that is so then why would it work in FF? Also does it have to be in the root folder or in the same folder as the page for IE? Has anyone gotten it to work in IE with a link to the images folder like this... <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/images/public/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> This is what I have and it works in FF but not in IE. Thanks for any help, Jehan Hi! I'm working on adapting a we-based system called OTRS (open ticket request system) for our offices here and I've just finished modifying all the headers and css and stuff for our needs. Now, I did it in Firefox and I'm brand spanking new to this game so when one of the header logos didn't appear in IE7, it took me about an hour to figure out maybe it was IE7 that was the problem, and it turns out it is... so would someone mind having a look at this below? It's very basic, but what's happening is that the picture 'HeaderCropped' isn't displaying, the border outlines don't even show, only that funny little graphic that appears when a picture is missing ( I don't know what it's called). Obviously I'd like to be able to see the picture in both FF and IE7, but will this take a major overhaul of this code? (It took me quite a while to do this little bit!) Thanking you in advance! -Emily _________________________________________________________ # include Copyright.dtl $Include{"Copyright"} # set some html variables #<dtl set $Env{"Box0"} = ">> "> #<dtl set $Env{"Box1"} = " <<"> # check refresh <dtl if ($Data{"Refresh"} ne "") { $Data{"MetaHttpEquiv"} = "<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="$Data{"Refresh"}">"; }> <html> <head> $Data{"MetaHttpEquiv"} <title>$Config{"ProductName"} $QData{"TitleArea"}</title> $Include{"customer-css"} </head> <a name="top"></a> <body> #<!-- start CI layout --> <table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td width="100%" class="header"><img style= width: 454px; height: 109px; "src="/otrs-web/images/Standard/HeaderCropped.jpg"> </td> <td width="100%" class="header" title="www.alliedpensions.com"><a href="http://www.alliedpensions.com"><img border="0" src="/otrs-web/images/Standard/APTLogo.jpg" width="150" height="100"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><hr align="left" width="100%" height="2"><!-- end CI layout --><!-- end header --></td></tr></table></body></html> |
