HTML - Html Nightmare! Hellp! Lol
nevermind, problem solved
Similar TutorialsHello everyone! I've scoured around for a bit looking for an answer to a stupid question without success, so I'll pose it here. Currently I am working on a bit of Java code that prints out a document in XHTML 1.0 Strict Transitional. The document displays a formatted list of stock information. What I want is an <option> drop down list with the days of the week, and upon clicking on one of those days, the page automatically refreshes to show the stocks for that day. So very simple, I need for the page to change to a different .html file in the same directory onmouseup, I believe the action is. Here is my .java code, for those interested: Code: import java.util.*; import java.lang.*; import java.io.*; import java.text.DecimalFormat; public class Portfolio { public static ArrayList<String> stocks = new ArrayList<String>(); public static DecimalFormat fmt = new DecimalFormat("0.##"); public static int tot = 0; public Portfolio(){} public static void main(String[]args) throws IOException { stocks.add("APPL 5.67 3"); stocks.add("DFG 54.87 78"); stocks.add("DGSF 93.62 5"); printPortfolio(stocks); } public static void printPortfolio(ArrayList<String> strar) throws IOException { String stockName = new String(); double stockVal = 0.0; int numShares = 0; StringTokenizer st; stocks = strar; PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter("Portfolio.html"); out.println("<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"); out.println("http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd\">"); out.println("<html xmlns=\"http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml\">"); out.println("<head>"); out.println("<title>User's JSMS Stock Portfolio</title>"); out.println("</head>"); out.println("<body>"); out.println("<img border=\"0\" src=\"ball16.gif\" width=\"29\" height=\"28\" alt=\"Ball\">"); out.println("<pre>"); out.println("STOCK NAME PRICE SHARES OWNED TOTAL"); out.println("---------- ----- ------------ -----</br>"); for(String str : stocks) { st = new StringTokenizer(str); stockName = st.nextToken(); stockVal = Double.parseDouble(st.nextToken()); numShares = Integer.parseInt(st.nextToken()); if(numShares > 0) { String SN = new String(); int nShares = 0; double price = 0; st = new StringTokenizer(str); SN = st.nextToken(); int numS = 25 - SN.length(); out.print(SN); //inserts # of spaces after data based upon data string length while(numS > 0) { out.print(" "); numS--; } price = Double.parseDouble(st.nextToken()); out.print("$" + price); double tumS = 18.0 - (Double.toString(price).length()); //inserts # of spaces after data based upon data string length while(tumS > 0) { out.print(" "); tumS--; } nShares = Integer.parseInt(st.nextToken()); out.print(nShares); numS = 19 - (Integer.toString(nShares).length()); //inserts # of spaces after data based upon data string length while(numS > 0) { out.print(" "); numS--; } out.println("$" + fmt.format(nShares*price) + "</br>"); tot += Double.parseDouble(fmt.format(nShares*price)); } } out.println("--------------------------------------------------------------------"); out.println("Stock Portfolio Net Worth : " + "$" + fmt.format(tot) + "</br>"); out.println("</pre>"); out.println("<p>"); out.println("Please Choose a Day:"); out.println("<br /><br />"); out.println("<select name=\"day\">"); out.println("<option selected=\"selected\">Monday</option>"); out.println("<option>Tuesday</option>"); out.println("<option>Wednesday</option>"); out.println("</select>"); out.println("</p>"); out.println("</body>"); out.println("</html>"); out.close(); } } At the bottom you can see a simple option list. This is the one that I want to be the day-chooser. In many of the places I've looked it talks about passing the value of the choice to a server. This is not my intention. I am thinking, possibly stupidly, that I can store the value of the choice in a variable and then in javascript have the page refreshed to the corresponding .html file in the directory. If this is the case, example code would be very much appreciated haha. Thank you! I am having troubles with frame navigation...I have 2 sites with the same frameset configuration of a topFrame and a lower mainFrame. I want a link on the mainFrame of site A to open a page in the mainFrame of site B. The page that I want to open is located on site B but whenever I click on the link in site A it opens in the mainFrame of site A. I know that specifying the target as _parent will take it out of the frame it's in, but how do I target it to open in the mainFrame of site B? A friend asked me to help validate their code. Like a mug I said yes. How hard could it be? Then I found that FrontPage does not appear to use CSS (gulp) and is steam-powered or something. Aarghh! Well - I sure bit off more than I could chew this time. I figure I'll add a CSS external file, let's say main.css, and reference it in the header. There are dozens of errors of course, things that no sane person has seen before... Like for example a 'microsoftborder'. Hmm, no wonder FrontPage died! Anyway, my friend can't change now, the site is too big and complicated. We just need to get some important pages to validate - like the index page for example. The first job is a whole-page border she has: it's a 5px gold border, stepped in by 5px, all round the page. That all fails miserably in validation as it's got stuff like [bordercolordark="#c0c0c0"] etc. Yikes. So I want to strip that out and put something sensible in the CSS. Anyone tell me what the CSS code for a whole-page 5px border is, stepped in 5px all round, please? You'll be helping a poor FrontPage victim. RIP is all I can say. My html problem keeps failling, with all my image codes.. shown for 10 errors which are all for the images what's wrong? Here is the code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <!-- New Perspectives on HTML and XHTML 5th Edition Tutorial 2 Case 2 Fiddler Home Page Author: Date: 2-16-2011 Filename: home.htm Supporting files: fiddler.jpg --> <title>, ITSE 1411 Lab Project 2, Tutorial 2 Case 2, Due 02/23/2011</title> </head> <body> <div> <img src="fiddler.jpg" alt="Fiddler on the Roof" /> <hr /> <a href="home2.htm"><img src="home.jpg" alt="home" /></a> <a href="slide1txt.htm"<img src="start.jpg" alt="start" /></a> <a href="slide1txt.htm"<img src="back.jpg" alt="back" /></a> <a href="slide2txt.htm"<img src="forward.jpg" alt="forward" /></a> <a href="slide6txt.htm"<img src="end.jpg" alt="end" /></a> <br /> <a href="slide1txt.htm"<img src="thumb1.jpg" alt="slide1" style="border-width: 5" /></a> <a href="slide2txt.htm"<img src="thumb2.jpg" alt="slide2" style="border-width: 0" /></a> <a href="slide3txt.htm"<img src="thumb3.jpg" alt="slide3" style="border-width: 0" /></a> <a href="slide4txt.htm"<img src="thumb4.jpg" alt="slide4" style="border-width: 0" /></a> <a href="slide5txt.htm"<img src="thumb5.jpg" alt="slide5" style="border-width: 0" /></a> <a href="slide6txt.htm"<img src="thumb6.jpg" alt="slide6" style="border-width: 0" /></a> </div> <hr /> <div> <img src="slide1.jpg" alt="slide1" /> </div> <blockquote> <p><i>Do You Love Me?</i> sung by Deb Ingalls and Thomas Gates</p> </blockquote> </body> </html> I just upgraded all my .HTML pages to .PHP . But now I noticed that when my pages pull up in the search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. They still show the old .HTML links?? When they click on the webpages from the search engines results you get error 404 page cannot be found. How can I update the search engines or add code to my page so the search engines will reflect the new .PHP pages. Also it's been over a good week since I've update to .PHP Thank you all in advanced!! Hi everyone, I've been searching around the web trying to find out how I can send using Outlook a html and text email newsletter automatically. I am quite happy creating html only newsletters, and text ones for that matter, but I have been digging and believe that by using multi-part code I can send to both and the recipients email client "allows" whichever version to be displayed - does this sound right? I'm hoping to simply create the html with the relevent mime references and boundaries (dont know what they are but have seen them on enough Google'd pages to know that they mean something!) and then copy and paste into Outlook - the newsletter is only going out to a few people at a time. Any suggestions or advice would be very greatly appreciated. Regards Allan As the title states I've been using Microsoft Word 2000 to create my web page but now want to make a simple no frills html HTML document. Is there a simple and quick way to do it ? I know I can simply create a new HTML document and then just copy and paste the links but is there a utility that can do this ? Many thanks Hi, so I'm trying to make this e-mail newsletter. It's entirely images, tables and text. So no javascript, just plain stuff. I tried attaching it as a signiture file and I had trouble sending it. It also didn't come out right. I'm trying to avoid using a software. Its basically just a block of HTML I need to show up as the only content in an email. If you just put HTML into a email text field, it just shows the HTML code in the email as text. Any ideas? I am still new to the web page world, but the website I originally created (in japanese) was passed on to a programmer. He did a lot of "upgrades" to the site so he says, but he left. Now I am in charge again of re-modeling the site. The problem is I am trying to figure out why there are so many dead links. I have looked up and down the server, but can't find anything. Ok before I confuse anyone else here is what I am talking about. For example this page that I originally made : Code: http://www.discoveryfirm.com/tokushu/index.html cannot be found but if I take of the end: http://www.discoveryfirm.com/tokushu/ the page is there. Now I am trying to fix a lot of dead links, but I cannot figure out what the programmer did to the site. I am still new to all the high-tech features in the web world. Could somebody please explain. i just started working on addicted2ally.com, and for some reason, my index.html is showing the text of the html instead of well, doing it lol helppp!? Any kind of feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance and kind regards Hello Friends, I need a tool which can remove HTML comments from an HTML page. I don't want to create a regular expression to remove HTML comments rather I need a tool which should have command line support also so that it can be integrated with build process. Please advice. Thank you. Can I put an HTML page within a html page in a table? I have this template that I need to email to people, it will not be on my website. Wow ever I need to change the information in one table every few days. The information is live I think it's called. It's like if I place google adsense in that table and decide to change it to ad-clicks later, I can't send everyone a new template, I need to be able to change just the information within that table. I'm going to go read up on frames, haven't used them in years. Any ideas! ~eDee I have read a lot of the posts on this subject, but have not found an answer to my problem. I am rebuilding my site and renaming/moving some pages; most will stay with the same name/location. My site is hosted on a windows server (godaddy,) and I do not have access to IIS manager and the windows server does not do php. I have good coverage by search engines worldwide, and I'd like to keep it. All help much appreciated. Hi all, I've just joined your forum today as I've got a problem I can't seem to resolve with my tumblr html. I'm not sure whether any of you are familiar with tumblr, but it's basically a social networking blogging site. First of all, my url is http://king-of-diamonds.tumblr.com/ I have edited the html of my page a lot but there is one problem that I can't fix: If you have a look at my blog, you will notice that between the posts there is a little white line/space that I have tried my best to get rid of. Does anybody know how I can get rid of it? You can have a look at the html of my blog (currently) by clicking this link. Thanks in advance! |
