I am very impressed with the content and information available in the ocean (forum). I am not good in programming. However, I have learned basic HTML programming, but not enough to write advanced coding (e.g. Creating CSS, class, table formatting, etc). I used to work on MS FrontPage and liked it very much because of its user-friendly interface. There we do get notepad, word and HTML preview windows. I always liked to work in Word window and copy notepad/code. But the biggest disadvantage is MS FrontPage uses a lot of MS Office classes and extra codes which is too tough to understand for other people. The only reason I stopped working in FrontPage because of excessive code and classes. I am looking for a software/tool where in I need to just work on Word processor like window, and I will get its code and html preview automatically? So that I will design my html page in word processor like window and get pure html code. Why do I need that software? Reason: I work on html, extensively on tables, nested tables, where in I need to use only one side border, middle border, only bottom border for each row, use gradient color in cell background, etc. I checked with Coffeecup HTML ediot and Dreamweaver CS4, but they also dont have much features for tables, and it is too advanced to use only to create HTML pages Hi I need to make a simple html file and need software to make it but I do not have any. What best free software is best to do it? I'm in need of a software that searches text in html files and replaces them ignoring the html tags. As example replace 1 with <b>1.</b> it should ignore tags like color="111111" and not make color="<b>1.</b><b>1.</b><b>1.</b><b>1.</b><b>1.</b><b>1.</b>" out of it. Newbie -- using KompoZer to prepare text & image pages for eBookGold publishing software. 1. No problem preparing pages. Copy and paste from Word doc. Clean up code as necessary. Simple formatting - no bells & whistles. Page width set at 580 pixels. 2. Each page viewed in IE7 is consistent with flush left margin and right margin consistent with 580 pixel width. Each page is tested for printing on 8.5x11 paper so pages can be numbered. 3. File is uploaded to eBook publishing software with default page view of 640x480. Software includes eBook viewer for computer use. Book generates successfully. 4. PROBLEM IS WITH VIEWING PAGES IN THE SOFTWARE READER. Some are the same as IE7. Others spread from edge to edge of the computer screen which, in some cases, affects the image and text placement. ???? Why is there a difference between IE7 and software publisher view of same page? Is there HTML code that can fix the problem? If yes, what is it and how do I do it? specifics would be appreciated. My employer and I are learning as we go -- any help is gratefully appreciated. Hi all! I'm new to this forum. I'm not very tech savvy so this is probably why I'm about to lose my mind trying to figure out the solution to my problem.... I would like a good software program where I can create templates in html format so that I can email for marketing purposes. I've tried a few online services and their limitations have me beating my head against the wall. I don't know html code. And I don't need to build a website. And I don't want to spend an outrageous amount of money. But I do want to create a template that will get to someones inbox, not junk mail, and arrive without attachments. I need the software to be user friendly & have an easy interface where I can easily edit using a visual editing tool. Does that exist? Any advice would be very much appreciated Hi I need to convert html page into xml format . Is it possible without using any external tools like tidy etc. pls send ur suggestions. thanx. My html file is present in a folder with folder structure like "E:\UsersReport". Inside this folder there is another folder named "Image". This folder contains JPEG images. The html file contains href relative links to the images in this "Image" folder. The relative links are given as href = ".\Image\A.jpg". In the converted html files, the relative links is not working. For accesing the images we need to give the full image path in mht files. Is there any method to give relative links in mht files??? Please help. I am having problems with a usage of copying HTML at school. What happens is I want to copy paste my grades for my family to see but when it comes out in the HTML table. It looks like gobble dee goop for my uncle at his work e-mail. Like I copy a table that fits on a normal printed out page. I ctrl V it to my outlook and send it to him. It appears all stretched out and stuff in his e-mail. He says he uses lotus notes to check to his e-mail. Is there any way I could get a converter to convert CTRL V html from a website to straight text on the fly? instead of converting an html file ? Upon signing up they get a referral link to send people to the website. They have a members back page where they can log-in and have access to tools to advertise for the website and also track their hits to the website. I would also need an admin page that I could track their hits to their referral website and be able to e-mail all members at one time. I don't really want to buy affiliate software since im not really selling anything and I do not need all the features, any advice? Whats the best website building software out there (freeware/shareware) Has anyone tried any of them and got good results I have a 10-day window to buy a professional web design software package. Cost is no object. Currently 1) using hosting site for my web pages and 2) HTML (NVu & Kompozer) to develop e-books for publication. Need a combo WSYISWYG/HTML to be able to "see" what I'm doing. Not a professional web designer but eventually will need to learn how to self-manage my web site. Dreamweaver appears to be the preferred software of choice. Would a better option be one of the Adobe Creative Suites that includes Dreamweaver? At this point, my web site is fairly clean and simple and I'm not one for bells & whistles. Adobe Creative Suites include many features that I'm not sure I would use. But since the money is available should I invest now in anticipation of potential future use? Any recommendations would be helpful. im wondering if any1 knows of some home server software i could use to host my website off ( im turning a pc into a deticated server and my ISP is letting me) i heard 1 or 2 mentioned over the last few weeks ima try to find them right now and look into them but thought maby i could get some input from any1 thats used or knows of 1 (needs to have mysql /php support) free or pay for doesnt matter... Lee Hi All, Just find a new website for free software download i was very much impressed with the products they have. I thought it might be useful for others also. Please post if anybody find any other related websites having many softwares like this. Thank you. Hi, Just joined your forum. Very informative ! We have always embedded HTML code into our website so that visitors could choose french, german or whatever and then the whole site then worked in french or whatever the chosen language was. see our current site www.euroburolimited.co.uk As you will see this site needed an upgrade to better html standards and better visual presentation and so we bought a smart new template and have upgraded everything. Whilst the site is not yet published to our main domain the new version can be viewed on www.calmwoodlimited.com (This is just a spare domain that we are using for testing purposes. So whats's our problem ? On the original domain, the visitor chose his language and then the whole website worked in french - or whatever. on the new website, exactly the same code is embedded but it only works on the .index page - not on any of the others. How do we fix it so that we don't need to embed the code on every single page ? It must be something to do with the css div's or whatever. Any bright ideas please ? David. My client wants a client login button on his website that will open up a piece of software on his and his employee's PC's (Microsoft terminal services client). Simply linking to C:\WINDOWS\system32\mstsc.exe doesn't seem to work. I'm guessing it's due to safety on the browsers behalf. Does anyone know how to make this work? Thanks.
