HTML - Table Submit Issues
I am not actually sure what has not been scripted correctly, I did not make these pages, my friend did & we are no longer in contact. You will have to view the source code on the page to get a better idea of things & the code is pretty short, if anyone can offer ANY advice here I would be so greatful thanks a bunch...

I know my code is messy, my excuse is only being 15, but yeah… at least most of it functions I am coding in PHP, but I don't think that should have anything to do with it. My problem appears to have to do with the HTML. I am using a 15x15 jpg as a submit button, but I have many of them in a table one per cell with no borders or spacing, so there are many of these submit buttons right next to each other in a grid. The problem is that though the cells are set to be 15x15, the page is displaying them in cells that are 15x27 with the jpg aligned to the top, though the source code does not reflect the 27 figure. I have set the width and height attribute on every cell and image. Is there something I should be looking for to ensure all of my code places the images in the right size and placement? There is no CSS in play with this part of the site. Thanks! Hi all! I have a table created using php getting information from a MySQL database. No problems there. The problem is that I want to put a form submit button near each of the table rows. Now. the logical thing to do would be to add a column to the table and put a submit button in each row. The only problem is that I want there to be a border only around the original table and not over the submit buttons. How do I go about doing that? Thanks in advance, dirk_gently Hello, I am having some issues with a table doing weird things to my web page. It was working before, but I had to change it to put a Google AdSense spot in it. Here's the page I am viewing for testing purposes: http://www.combatfilms.com/ads/index.asp It uses ASP header and footer files, but the only actual ASP used is to include the file, the rest is HTML. The problem is that as you can see it is squishing the text to the left. The actual problem is taking place in the HTML of http://www.combatfilms.com/ads/include/header.asp The tricky part is that I need to not end the table until the footer.asp file does. This is because the title of every page is in a cell which is started on the header, but the actual text differs on pages. I don't know if this is clear, and I apologize if it isn't. The main thing I need to do here is to include the Google AdSense without changing anything on the index.asp file, only the header.asp file. Help is appreciated. In IE 8 everything is fine too, but only for a few seconds and then it puts me back to IE 7 compatibility (...and bugs). Ok my boss and I are kind of stumped and not sure why this is happening. My table is set up to be 1000px wide and im only using about 995. Anyway the table is getting repeated and the cells arnt lining up from one to the other. In particular the Grey section with "RelationShare CRM Pty Ltd" is supposed to be a footer at the bottom of the page. Any ideas? I know it will be something simple, I just cant work it out!! Hello, I am having a bit of a problem with my tables and am not sure how to resolve it. @ www.scubatoo.net/test.php you will find that the top 3 rows are only 33.3% the width of the table. I understand that this is because the corresponding <tr> below are also 33.3% wide. How can I over come this? Thanks, Ryan I'm just learning html and css so this might be something basic. But on my site i'm making i have a form inside a table and when you click submit the table resizes and dosen't submit. When you click submit on the resized table it submits. When you submit nothing changes that would make the table resize. The background image is mySchedule_bg.jpg and it needs to hold both of the containers. Anyone have some insight as I am getting tired playing a guessing game with this code. Hello, I made a very simple table layout (with photoshop and imageready) and its my very first time making this type of layout so I'm having a little trouble with the coding. I haven't added a style.css file to it, except for maybe the css that wraps my navigation to a certain width. My friend told me that one of the images was not sliced correctly, so I sliced it but .. it kind of fixed the right side, and not the left. Hi Everyone- I'm hoping someone out there might be able to solve a problem I've been having with my site for a number of years. The site was designed for IE but with the growing popularity of Firefox and Safari (to name a few), I want to insure that it works properly with those browsers. For the most part, it does -- except when displaying a background image in a table. For example - look at this page: http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/...anentwaves.php When viewed in I.E., the grey background image with the woman displays properly, as does the full image of the album cover within. However when viewed in Firefox or Safari, the background image repeats near the bottom for about 20 pixels. The problem also exists on a page like this one: http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/lyrics.php Where the brown background image which includes the words "Rush Lyrics" displays properly in I.E. but seems to repeat for 20 pixels in FF. This one's been driving me crazy for years and, due to some recent changes I've been making, it's come back to haunt me. If anyone has any suggestions as to why this is happening and what I can do to remedy it, I would greatly appreciate it... Thanks so much. Hello, I just made my new site for my company and I tried to keep it extremely simple. I used wordpress to do the basic layout automatically and made some simple edits with some basic html i picked up along the way this week. There seems to be two problems though: 1) the form is inside a table which doesnt seem to align properly within any of the popular browsers (firefox/IE/chrome) .... it should look like 1 image instead of 3 separate pieces 2) i eventually got the form to align slightly better but the spot where I "Enter my zip code" doesnt align with the background image behind it.....sometimes it doesnt even say "enter zip code" which is very bad for a user experience. in firefox it doesnt say it, but in chrome it does say it....either way, both are aligned very poorly..... The table on the outside has no content, it is there to make a gray border around everything else. If you look at the table in firefox & internet explorer, you'll see that in IE- the table is much thicker than in firefox. In one instance, I have a 2x1 (row by column) table inside another table. So, we'll call the inside table "B" and the outside table "A". Table B is centered inside a column in Table A. I'm trying to maximize the space, but nearly nothing works. Setting Table B height=100% does nothing. The only thing that works is setting the height=N px, where N is a number. 1. I want to center each column so that the first letter of each book title is lined-up, but that the longest title on each column has equal space on both left and right. 2. If you look at each column, the width is about 245px. With regard to the first book title in the first column, I have 50px that is extra, therefore I'd like to automatically add 25px to the front of each one of the books for that column. 3. On the second column, there is about 80px extra, therefore I'd like to auto-add 40px to the front of each book in that column. My problem is that I don't want the column centered individually because then I will lose the straight line that I'd like each book to be on top of each other as it starts the line. I tried: style="margin-left:20px" and style="padding-left:20px" but when the title got too long it would not auto-collapse the left side, I want it to collapse! I want one tag that I can insert evenly on every section to get the push to the right an even amount of spaces for every book on each column. If it comes down to it, I wouldn't mind sacrificing that each column gets auto aligned to what is necessary for its own column. So if I have to use one number, say 30px, for the whole webpage, then ok, I'd do it. My problem is that sometimes the 30px empty filler space for the left, in order to push the title to the right, is not enough space for a very long title and it winds up sending half the title to the next line, which I don't want. This code is a list of books that spans about 20 categories and about 400 book titles. Thanks in advance for any help you might offer. Here is an image depicting the trouble I'm having: I want to make a table, consisting of many cells. These cells would be fixed, and *very different* in sizes. It's easy to make a no-space table when all the images are exactly the same size, but when you have images with a variety of sizes, the table doesn't fit perfectly. Basically I want to create a collage of images with overlay text on each image. My idea was that I could create a table, and each cell (td) would have a background which is the image. Then I could just type in that cell, so the text would be over the image. Then I'd do this for every one of my images, and a collage would be formed. The problem is, the table makes large white spaces wherever the image sizes don't match! How do I get rid of these spaces, or is there an entirely different code/approach I should be using? Thanks!
