HTML - Need Help With Creating Forms On A Website
Hey everyone!
I don't know much about HTML so please be gentle in responding. I'm setting up a form for online donations for the organization I work for and we're using Paypal to receive the donations. The problem is that I need to be able to let people designate their donations to specific projects and such but Paypal won't do that. I know that I can set up a form on our website that allows them to select the different projects, put in the amounts and then have a box at the bottom giving the total donation. The problem I have is that whenever they fill out this form and move on to the Paypal payment page, they have to re-enter the total donation on the Paypal payment page. I want to eliminate this step, if possible. My question is this: Is there a way to have the total donation amount copied and pasted onto the Paypal payment page so they wouldn't have to re-enter it? Hello. =) I'd like to create a web form, but I don't understand scripting languages (yet)...so I need a user-friendly, WYSIWYG form creator [*] . I have FrontPage 2003, but that's not "WYSIWYG"-enough for me. Plus I heard that FrontPage isn't that great when it comes to coding things. I also want my form creator to let me: -Insert "special fields/code" (see #1, #2, #3 and #4 - from DynamicDrive.com) -Validate all email addresses typed in the form -Send results to my email, and store certain fields/answers to an Excel document -Hide my email address from spambots (it's called "encrypting", right?) There are websites that'll make the form for me, but I want to host the finished form (and accompanying files) on MY OWN SERVER. The best site I could find (phpFormGenerator) will let me download everything. But it'll also post my forms -- and files -- in public. So my email address, database info, etc. will be available for spambots and hackers. =\ Thanks in advance! [*] I'd prefer a freeware creator. If you know some good shareware, I ONLY want one that lets me create a fully-functional (ad-free, watermark free, 100% working for life) web form. My HTML experience is pretty limited and something has been driving me insane trying to figure out how to do. All I want to do is create a form that when filled out the information is sent to my email. I thought this is how I write it HTML Code: <form action="MAILTO:me@myemail.com" method="post" enctype="text/plain"> <input type="######"> <br> <input type="######"> <br> <input type="######"> <br> <input type="submit" value="Send"> </form> Then that information would be sent to my email. When I try it out all it does is open up my outlook account with the details in there. Please someone help before my monitor goes flying out the window. On my page http://cre8tivepixels.com/Quote%20form.html I have a quote form up the top, that works fine, i then added a section where models could send me three photos, when you click on these tabs it loads the photo up, but all i get is an email with the photo names but NO photos? What do i have to put in my script to make it so i recieve there jpegs, and not just the name of the file? Can this even be achieved? Basically i want the photos that a model submits to be delivered in my email address the same as my Quote Form above? Hope that makes sence? I like how simple his layout is but it looks sooo much better than mine lol. He hired someone to build it so he has no idea how it was made. Does anyone know if there is a template or something I can use to make something similar, I mainly just want the scrolling box with pictures that are linked to videos like he has on the top of the page below the banner. This will be my first website, aside of simple projects from my school class. A friend of mine has a website that is currently already up an running. He would like the site completely re-done, as he moved his company, has new offers, etc. Is the best way to do it, to re-write/edit from scratch, or to use a free website builder? Let's say he already has a website called www.5star.com If I use a free website builder, will I be able to transfer all that to his domain name he already has so it doesnt become something like www.freewebsite/hostme/5star.com ? Hello I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but I'm trying to figure out how to make my website more easily maintainable. EG On my site there is a bar on every page with my "latest updates", every time I want to add an update I have to add it to every page which is tiresome. I was wondering if I can just have this bar point to a text file on every page so I can just update this one file and it will be displayed on all pages. Hopefully this isn't too difficult, thanks. Ive been asked to fix up an old webpage. The old web master is a bit senile and can not complete the page. I had created a php page but the server is so old that it doesnt support php. I pretty much know how to do the code for getting the values, etc, I just do not know how to create the actual forms. I have to create the pages in Visual Studio 2008. Here is what I have to create: The first image explains what is supposed to be in each field of the form. The second image is what it is supposed to look like after the user inputs information to the form. And here is what the result is supposed to be after the user clicks the preview button: So like I said, I know how to do most of the coding, I just have no idea how to manipulate Visual Studio to make the forms look like, or at least similar to, the pictures I posted. I have experience in html and css and some in javascript. So that is not really the issue. I just do not know Visual Studio too well. It seems like there is something easy and/or obvious that I am missing. I played around with VS for several hours earlier and I could not make anything that looked similar the images.
