HTML - Ebay Custom Template Problem

When creating a file from a template in Dreamweaver CS3, is there anyway to remove all the comment tags around editable regions?

flash template, and the URLs don't work. When I click on a picture, it's supposed to redirect me to a webpage, but when I do this nothing happens.

I've tried this with several different flash templates from other websites but the same problem happens.

I'm wondering how I can get those boxes to the top so that they are not centered? I've been messing about with the HTML for ages. You'll have to excuse me because I'm a noob at HTML.

I am trying to use a template for all the pages on my site. I am using Dreamweaver. When I apply the template to a new page, it appends the path of the template directory to all my links, and won't let me edit them. I'm not sure in general how templates are supposed to work. Can I do this without Dreamweaver? Is there a good FAQ on templates somewhere that I can read?

I'm about to rip my hair out on this one. I'm using Dreamweaver 8. I have navigation that is using image rollovers to swap. My images that are needed for the rollover to work are in my "assets" folder in the "root" directory. However, when I create the actual html page off the template it is looking for the image in "templates/assets" and therefore does not find the image to swap. I have a number of different navigation buttons and I inserted them all the exact same way. This is the only one that is having this issue, the rest work properly.

For some reason it is adding the directory templates, and therefore does not find the image. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Hi guys,

I created a email template for company usage using html, i put company`s logo in it, it works perfect with outlook and windows live mail, but when i open that email template in browsers, i see .jpg file at the end of the mail message. Is there any way to get rid of this? Thanks.

I am having some difficulty trying to use html on ebay listing, i am new to html and its my first time i have tried producing something within it, i have designed it in web expression 4, i will include a link to my ebay listing and explain what the problem is.

Hi, i had an existing ad that I made with turbolister, i tried a template and added two pictures and a background, i accidently deleted the pictures off my computer and messed it all up. So i restored everything back and it is still missing on ebay. i should tell you that i was not using a online host just my computer to store the pictures, it seemed to be working fine until being the doo doo i am messed it all up. So i tried again and once it gets online its not showing the pictures. The backgrounds are there but not the pictures. I am so lost. Please any help would be appreciated. The backgrounds are also only stored on my computer but remain online in the listing. Its just the pictures that I am having problems with, maybe it is impossible to be offline and only have your computer as the host??? Not sure.

why doesnt ebay use headers? h1 h2 ect..

I viewed the source and was surprised not to find a h1, h2 or h3 ect.. I am just wondering if anyone knows why eBay isn't web standards compliant?

Hello, I am a total HTML noob so please be patient

I use mocrosoft front page to edit a HTML template that I got off the web. Basically upload pictures to photobucket and paste the HTML link into the template. update the description and upload it to eBay.

I am looking to add an image gallery ( thumbnails and once clicked or moused over they enlarge in a big window above or below them) but I am not good with HTML at all.

I found some free source code on the net but I don't know how to integrate it into my template or even know if it can be done.

I tried using the image gallery that is built into front page and it seems ok when in the normal mode but when I switch to preview the pictures are gone and I receive script errors. when I look at the source it is pointing to a file on my C: drive instead of the images in photobucket.

I have no idea how HTML works but it seems that the source should point to a file or files on a website because it can't pull images from my hard drive once it's uploaded to ebay.

i plan to take some classes on HTML to learn more but in the meantime your help is appreciated.

If you have any easy methods to setup an image gallery or tutorial it would be a great help

I'm new to these forums and would appreciate any help I can get
So I've made this eBay listing and the html part of it all works fine, but eBay won't let me submit it because:

"Your listing cannot contain javascript (".cookie", "cookie(", "replace(", IFRAME, META, or includes), cookies or base href."

Please can someone help me edit my html to get rid of these 'contaminants'?
I have a feeling that it's to do with my linked thumbnail pictures...

Can I put a code in my ebay items so that the whole advert document (eg. item1.html) Can be externally loaded in.

This way I can change the look of all my adverts by replacing the html files on my server and without having to touch ebay at all.

I have put together a HTML page in Dreamweaver for Mac to act as a listing page to sell on Ebay. When I copy this into the description box in Ebay the page appears well ove the Ebay boundaries. There appears to be a specific area within which your description must appear but I can't make it fit. I've tried removing the 'head' and 'body' tags as an Ebay guide says that these are automatically input for you but that then removes my page formatting, fonts, image placement, etc. Does anyone know if there is a specific code that you need to put in to your listing to make it fit the page or if there is anything else im supposed to be doing.

Please help!!!
