HTML - Hover Button - Change Image And Text?
hi there. i made a website for somebody years ago when i knew nothing about html. the code is absolutely crazily bad and i am looking to revamp it.
the site is www.englishandproudofit.co.uk i know how to do the layout but its the buttons i am struggling with. what is the best way to make the buttons around the outside? i only want to use one image for all of the buttons and then have text on each button that also chnages colour on hover, pretty much how it is now but what would be the correct way to do it? all help greatly appreciated. thank you, sam Similar TutorialsHello there, I am trying to find code to accomplish one little task. I want specific text to show up when one hovers over a button. Not clicking it, but hovering over. Like the ESPN tourny bracket page...hover over any team abbreviation to see full team name. Example Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lorne I am creating a website that has a search button with an image. I would like to know if there is some simple code that I can include that would display the same basic image with a different color when the user mouses over the button. Here is the code: <FORM name="searchform" onSubmit="return validateSearch();" METHOD="POST" ACTION="search_results_lt.asp"> <INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="Search" VALUE="" SIZE="20" > <INPUT TYPE=IMAGE SRC="images/search_button.gif" Name="SearchButton" Value="Submit"> </FORM> **** Thanks for your help, Robin I'm not sure if this has been covered somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I'm wondering if there's any way to get an image to pop up on a hover over text, not a link. If that's not specific enough, I have a page of staff members. I want to be able to move my mouse over the person's name and have a picture of them pop up. Is this possible? I'd like to improve the appearance of three buttons on an html page. i believe this is the code: Code: <input type="submit" name="purchase" value="Use Remaining Credits" style="margin:7px 0" style="padding:1px 2px 1px 2px" rel="gb_page_center[600, 635] "> <input type="button" name="search" value="Get New Credits" onclick="window.location.href='newcredits.php';" style="margin:7px 0" style="padding:1px 2px 1px 2px"> <input type="button" name="search" value="Search Again Now" onclick="window.location.href='page.php??page=12';" style="margin:7px 0" style="padding:1px 2px 1px 2px"> How can I add more attractive buttons, which would include the text "Use Remaining Credits", etc.? can you please provide a code example, with image code? Thanks I am new to HTML. I just started yesterday and found it to be useful so far. I am in the process of setting up a website so I searched for a template to use, but it wasn't complete. I think everything is in place except for the 5 page link buttons on the side. Currently they all link to the same site, but I can fix that myself. I need to put text over the image while still allowing the button to be clicked, but I don't know how. I put an image of what I want inside the attached zip file. Thanks in advance. I have several websites that I maintain and update. A lot of them are just textual changes and I would think my customers can do these themselves by editing a simple .txt file. I was hoping my choices are avalable so that I can just insert this tag into my web pages and then give them login info to their edit page or show them how to upload the .txt file. I hope this is an easy one with several answers. Is it possible these tags could discipline your rankings in the search engines? Thanks, Jason I would like to have a single word which on hover displays a box with some details. I know I could do this crudely using an image for the word, and having the 'alt' text contain the details wanted on hover. What is the correct way of doing this? Ta muchly! How do I make a button change images when a user rolls over his/her mouse? Thanks. Hi all, I have a table with some data in it. Sometimes the data in one of the cells fills up and it messes up the formatting of the rest of the table. I would like to have the table show a "...." when this happens and then when the user hovers his mouse over this then I want the remaining data to float over the table. Somewhat like a tooltip text. Is there anyway to do this? Thanks in advance for any help, Jehan Hello Im creating a IE Mobile website, which has limited CSS capabilities ( see http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/...es/213771.aspx ) and jscript capabilities( http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ects2_jrzu.asp ) I have been able to change the buttons color and my current version I have the following code that changes the page background color when a button is focused. I just want the buttons to change color when the focus is on it and when no longer focused goes back to normal, so the user knows they have moved to another button. <HEAD><title>MySite</title> <SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript"> <!-- function setbg(color) { document.bgColor=color; document.body.style.backgroundColor=color; } //--> </SCRIPT> </HEAD> <BODY> <INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" NAME="Btn1" VALUE="1" onFocus="setbg('red')" > <INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" NAME="Btn1" VALUE="1" onFocus="setbg('black')" > </BODY> </HTML> Any suggestion on how to change just button color upon mouseover and mouseout?
