HTML - Lock Tables And Template Help.
Can I have some help. I'm creating a website and I created the template in photoshop, sliced it and imported into dreamweaver but when I put the slicked images to tables and enter content, the whole table messes up and nothing is in line anymore.
Is there a way to stop this or to lock the tables so they don't expand and everything stays in line?? Thanks. Similar Tutorialssuppose i have a form in which all the information are asked about a person. if person is male then the fields which are meant for female should be locked.. and same with vice versa... so please tell me how i can do that in html????? I'm trying to decide if concerning myself with users who might type a URL all caps, or some other case combination is important. Basically for 1, how many people ever type a url with uppercase letters unless it is obviously apparent that you are supposed to. ex. 'http://www.website.com/big_T' And #2, how many people, if they typed a URL with capital letters and were taken to a 404 page, would go back and type the address again in lowercase, instead of just assuming it was a bad address. ex. Someone posts 'HTTP://WWW.WEBSITE.COM/HOME' you type it as you see it... as so as you hit go/enter the browser is automatically going to put the domain in lowercase and retrieve the address: 'http://www.website.com/HOME' but still return an error page because the directory 'HOME' is actually 'home' Now , while there are ways to fix this, what I am really wanting to know, is how many people, would not go back and try the URL with 'home' typed in lowercase. I don't like this feature but understand some people need the help for them to read the text. Is there a code i could insert on my site where it will (after each time you come back) return to its original text size. the size i put on it well i was making it. so it lets people change it but when you leave then come back after a visit it'll turn the text back to its original form and size. thank you, Micheal Hi Normally, when you have more than one table in your code, the tables will be placed one under each other. Example: <table> ... </table> <table> ... </table> When you want the tables to be placed next to each other, you need to set the align attribute. Example: <table align="left"> ... </table> <table align="left"> ... </table> BUT: When you do it like in the 2nd example (tables next to each other), in Firefox, the tables will wrap to a new line if there is no more space. In Internet Explorer, the tables will not wrap. The result is a horizontal scrollbar or "hidden tables". Why this? How can I make the tables wrap also in Internet Explorer as it does in Firefox? Everything was alright but when I opened the html files in Dreamweaver again for work. One div in the middle it showed white space. When I viewed it in firefox, it viewed completely and there was no white space. The text was there , everything was there. I dont get it, where did the white space came from. Also, if I view the code view, that specific div is highlighted with yellow color. Also the yellow highlighted div is showing in the design view. I am attaching the screenshots. When I use CSS, it applies everything to the whole auction, so even the e-bay things have the font as orange. I went in and changed everything to html and things look better, but I'm having a problem with the border around my images. I would like it to be the color in the background instead of black. PLease help. How would you add a template to your site with HTML. This concept is getting very annoying and I have started arguing with someone on this subject. Problem is, I didn't even know how to add some of the simple stuff. I was able to figure out how to add: a) the background b) the main header(banner) and c) a few normal pictures I have no idea however how to add the: sidebar, menubar (where about us, etc is), or the footer. I don't know where the programming for them starts or how to add so that the show up. Hi, total newbie to website design and I need help in getting rid of a template. I think for now all i want is to go to cPanel, then right to a HTML editor, but every choice seems to leave me with some sort of forced template. I just switched from Sitebuilder to RVsitebuilder and was a little happier with the 'build your own' template... but still there is a template. Now my questions are, do I have to add the text on there now? Or will I add it with HTML later on? And my other question is, how exactly does the slice tool work? Do I just have to slice it all in pieces? Or do I have to add the URL to it too? (If you double-click a slice you can enter a URL, how can I know the URL if I don't even have a site yet?)
