HTML - Site Designed In Dreamweaver Cs4 Doesn't Display Properly On Safari
The title says it all, my site just doesn't properly work in safari. heres the link
www.royaltee-design.com help would really be appreciated thanks Similar TutorialsI've got three drop-down lists in a navbar that displays properly in IE but not in Firefox or Sea Monkey. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The lists under "Historic District" and "Take Action" are fine, but the two items under "Blog" don't show up in FF or SM. The "Blog" links are external. Would that matter to FF and SM? The WC3 turned up the likely error, but when I added and/or removed a ul and/or li tag, I got strange results and was unable to fix the problem. If someone can explain what I should do and why I'd appreciate it. WC3 flagged the <ul> tag after <li><a href="http://west80s.blogspot.com/">Blog</a></li> because: "document type does not allow element "UL" here; assuming missing "LI" start-tag" Here's the site: http://west80s.org/ Here's the code: Code: <ul class="NavHoriz-menu"> <li class="first"><a href="index.htm">Home</a></li> <li> <a href="http://">Historic District</a> <ul> <li class="first"><a href="Historic-District.htm">Proposed District</a></li> <li><a href="letters-index.htm">Support the Historic District</a></li> <li><a href="GB-pix.htm">Gilbert Brownstones</a></li> <li><a href="WestPark.htm">West Park Church</a></li> <li><a href="330-W-86-St.htm">330 W 86th St</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="http://west80s.blogspot.com/">Breaking News</a></li> <li><a href="http://">Take Action</a> <ul> <li class="first"><a href="hydrofracking.htm">Hydrofracking</a></li> <li><a href="letters-index.htm">Support the Historic District</a></li> </ul> <li><a href="MembershipForm.htm">Join</a></li> <li><a href="mailto:info@west80s.org">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a href="http://west80s.blogspot.com/">Blog</a></li> <ul> <li class="first"> <a href="http://west80s.blogspot.com/2011/07/please-help-us-wipe-out-graffiti-this.html">Graffitti Removal</a></li> <li><a href="http://west80s.blogspot.com/2011/07/weve-adopted-tree.html">Beautificaiton</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> Thanks for any help. Ellen Safari doesnt display html site as it should be, instead Safari shows just the html code...: what can i do? <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta content="de-ch" http-equiv="Content-Language" /> <meta content="text/html; charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type" /> <title>Ohne_Titel_1</title> </head> <body> <p>TEST</p> <img src="http://blabla.com/image.jpg" /> </body> </html> This is just a sample html code, and its saved as .html file on the server... so what could it be? (the main page is displayed correct by the way...) Thank you very much! Hey guys, Im workign with a new client and she had a previous designer do her site. Problem is it was done in Frontpage has a referenced .dwt file and Im trying to edit this. I generally work with puremarkup but have dreamweaver to get an instant visual change as I do this. My problem is as i'm trying to change stuff its not allowing me to do this. Also in the directory there are tons of _vti directories. There is a form on her site which was done in ASP so in general I'm slightly confused as to the best way to edit her site. I even just copied the code and pasted it into a new window and its giving me hangups about this. I think the way Frontpage generated the code is wonky. The site URL is alongcamemary.biz Can you guys make some suggestions on the best way to approach this. Thanks, Richard I am building a website in dreamweaver cs3. It displays normal in all browsers except an older version of IE (I think 6.0). I have read a bunch and have learned about float left and left margin problems with older IE versions. Nothing has helped so far. To make a long story short if you view http://whatwowart.com the right column where you sign up for newsletter etc. gets put under the whole page in older IE (I think 6.0). If someone could please help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks, John O Code can be seen at: http://whatwowart.com/code.html hello, can anyone here tell me why there is so little html software for linux users? I bought a linux pc and discovered that Adobe do not offer dreamweaver in linux. There is also no other html editors I can find of any worth in linux. does anyone know any? does anyone else have this problem? at work, we have Dreamweave MX Student edition. The tip/hint for coding seems to be enable, but when i type in css, there are no code hint. any help? NOTE: running on Mac OS X I have read various post all over the net about site problems in IE but ok in Firefox, Safari etc. Well, I have that problem too and have failed to identify the problem within my site. I am a novice websiter - relying on DW to do most of it for me! So any help would be appreciated. see www.nailseachoral.org.uk the navigation bar should not have a box around the words (present, future, gallery etc) and the home button should not have a purple box around it! Looks ok in Firefox and Safari. I am suspecting the image sizing code could be a factor? Any suggestions would be appreciated and thanks, I don't know if this should really go in the css forum or here, but here it is. The page in question is at the following link: http://www.sikaband.com/archives/new/index.html and the css file being referenced is: http://www.sikaband.com/archives/new/blackstyle.css Viewing the page in Firefox, the links in the navigation bar are centered the way they ought to be. Safari for some reason shunts the text off to the right a good ways. When I put a visible border on the div in question, I can see that the div itself is aligned properly, it's just the text inside that's off. I'm confused. I just finished with basic index.html page for my website. It will have 20 or more subpages - they will all use same design. I don't want manually change all the links on every page if one day I add menu link or something like that So any ideas how to do that automatically in Dreamweaver CS3? I've spent almost a week designing, coding and uploading this site. Only to have it not display properly in firefox or safari. I've included a link to the site and several screenshots as well as the source code. Please help! This image shows it as it is int ie 7 on windows xp http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...asintended.jpg this image shows it on safari and fire fox: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...art/safari.jpg website link: www.tavasystems.com Thanks in advance. It works great in Firefox, IE, and even on my iPhone (Safari), but it's having problems in Chrome and on my friend's Mac (Safari). I have a form with 2 tables inside. The first table is aligned left at 47% of the width. The second table is aligned right at 47% of the width. It should look like this: But instead looks like this in Chrome and Safari...it appears that it's centering both tables instead of aligning them left and right to give 2 separate columns. Any ideas? Here is some of my stripped down code: ----------------------------------- <div id="FormLayer" style="position:absolute; width:680px; height:455px; z-index:3; left: 65px; top: 330px; border:0"> <form action="form.php" method="post" name="orderform" id="orderform"> <input type="hidden" name="recipients" value="email.com"> <input type="hidden" name="required" value="actor:Actor's Name, email:Your Email=confirm:The emails you entered did not match, show:Name of the Show, episode:Your Episode|date:Air Date, character: Character's Name, description: Description of Scenes"> <input type="hidden" name="good_url" value="success.htm"> <table width="47%" align="left" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5"> <tr> <td><div align="left" class="style3"> <label for="actor"><span class="style2"> Actor's Name:</span></label> </div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td><input name="actor" type="text" id="actor" size="40" maxlength="50"></td> </tr> <table width="47%" align="right" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5"> <tr> <td><div align="left" class="style3"> <label for="character"><span class="style2"> Character's Name:</span></label> </div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td><input name="character" type="text" id="character" size="40" maxlength="50"></td> </tr> </table> </form> ---------- .......... Hi, New to this forum, so apologies if this has been answered before--couldn't find the solution anywhere. I'm working on a page (http://www.dinacheney.com/index.htm), and the rowspan effect is working well on FF. On IE, the chalkboard image gets cut off and the image doesn't line up properly. Is this just rowspan weirdness and I need to rewrite the page using divs or css? Or is there something simpler I can do? All advice is much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance! Good day, I have a test page for a website I'm currently working on, there's a video player on it that shows itself on internet explore but doesn't actually play the videos and on Safari or Firefox it doesn't even show itself. The webpage is located at: http://viloda.com/videoindex_portfolio_rtvnh.html and I think there's something wrong with the HTML. There's probably something wrong or/and missing but I really can't find what. The Video Player works perfectly fine locally, so the player made in Flash can't be the problem, I think it has to be code. So I was wondering if perhaps one of you could help, thanks for reading this over. I am wondering if it is possible to create an INDEX.HTML to redirect to another website? I would like it to display the redirected site, but if possible keep to the original address.. e.g. A site named www.mysite.com, with an INDEX.HTML to redirect to www.othersite.com, which displays OTHERSITE with www.mysite.com in the address bar. Hope I explained ok, any responce would be much appricated! Thanks! Hi there. My site is not working on Safari. It also doesn't work on Google's Chrome, so I've been told. But it works on Firefox and other browsers. Here's the url... http://www.prs-nj.com Anyone got any ideas? Thank you, Gidmeister http://www.ptacnik.com/index102.html When previewing through Dreamweaver in ANY of these 3 browsers it looks fine. (from my local drive) But once online it only loads in Firefox. Is there something fishy with the frames perhaps? missing an XML doc on my end? I can't figure out what is causing this. Any help would be very much appreciated. http://www.ptacnik.com/nav1.html is the top frame and the list below are the frames loaded under nav1. http://ptacnik.com/about101.html http://ptacnik.com/design.html http://ptacnik.com/illustration.html PROBLEM SOLVED My site (http://theticketsguide.com) is running fine on Firefox, Chrome, Camino, and Internet Explorer. But on Safari, my site's formatting is off and, curiously, only on the home page. Of note: * The image in the first blog post from the top isn't aligned correctly (should be inside the paragraph, not above it) * In my first blog post, all my text prior to my first link is underlined (wacky!) * The ends of the lines come too close to the margin * My second blog post spills over past the margin * My Recent Posts are pushed all the way to the bottom of my page I noticed that Firefox is correctly reading my .headline_area as an H2, whereas Safari is reading it as an H1. Strangely, if you click on a blog post, the formatting on that page is totally OK. The problem is only on my home page. If you're seeing what I'm seeing, do you have any ideas? Brandon |
