HTML - Unicode Problem
I've got some unicode in my coding which I have to save my work in notepad under Unicode for both txt and html. Now when I upload my html file onto my website the page doesn't show like this,
http://wantedfraternity.webs.com/test.html How do I fix this problem? :\ Similar TutorialsHi, Can I display unicode character(i.e down arrow) BLACK DOWN-POINTING TRIANGLE ▼ 9660 using javascript on my page. Can you plz guide me. Thanks With Regards I am the owner of http://www.translationhelp.com and I am debating whether to use Unicode on the pages or not. There are over 500 translators in the database (but not yet fully registered as the site is still in development). Each of these translators needs to create at least two "profile" web pages (one in their source language and one in their target language). This means I need to have the ability to allow the translators to enter their profile information in two separate forms when they register in their respective languages so that the form contents once submitted will display properly in the user's browser ("user" here means potential clients looking for a translator). I have heard of some problems with Unicode and browser/computer configuration so I am not sure if that is the best solution. It also seems more complex and therefore more expensive and perhaps more prone to bugs. I am also not sure how to implement Unicode so that the translators can read/type their info into the form in their languages and the pages resulting from the form submission are displayed in Unicode. The other solution is to set the form pages to be displayed automatically using the specific language charset for that page and to display the web pages using the charset of that page's language. The problem is that I have not had the actual site pages translated yet (that is coming soon) and the common elements (menus etc.) are all in English. This will mean a translator's profile page with a language charset of Japanese (for example) will also have menu items in English. The combination of the two languages is troublesome and the only solution I can come up with is to use Unicode OR display these pages without menus using a target "_blank" to open a new browser window and a couple of images (in English) to close the window or whatever. I have been thinking and wondering about this for some time and I could use any help or opinions to get me over the hump of indecision I am stuck at. Hi, buddies My website has a URL with unicode characters to get a page, but this URL cannot be decoded correctly by IIS7.0. I got 500.50 http error, cannot find the page, and the URL decoded by IIS7.0 was messy code. So pls tell me how to encode such type URL in html code(not php or asp code), i.e. in a <a href="www.one-website.com/index.php?region_name=北京市">. May be I need a function. Could you kindly answer me ? Thank you! qiuping345 I would like to have an image that takes 2 url like the following image... is it possible? if so, can someone please tell me how this could be done? Thank you very much.. NOTE: I tried doing this... <map name= 'url1' > <area shape= 'poly' coords= ' 0 , 0 , 50 , 0 , 0 , 50 ' href= 'url1.html' > </map> <a href= 'url2.html' > <img src= 'img.jpg' width= 50 height= 50 usemap= '#url1' > </a> but this only get 'url1' woring... Okay, I know that this problem is going to be really really easy, but I forgot how to do it. I use to own an older website and forgot the code. Anyways, I only know how to describe it. When I minimize the screen, it is minimizing the whole thing and collapsing it making the iframes smaller and the text fit into a smaller space. Most websites have a code (i don't know what it is) so that when someone minimizes their browser, it just makes the browser smaller and not the actual page. Here's what it looks like: http://www.freewebs.com/noeylani94/index.htm Try minimizing that and see how it looks. It collapses the whole page right? Can someone tell me the code how to fix it? Thanks =D Ok, here's my website. http://wantedfraternity.webs.com/ Now my problem is...the image at the top and the chat room is center for me on Firefox...but on another user on my computer it isn't. And everyone else that comes to my chat site the image at the top isn't center'd and the chat is way off from being center'd. Can anyone help me plz? Whenever I try to send a PM it is telling me I need to wait over a million seconds, and it never goes away.. Help? I'm designing this site http://www.vom.com/graphico the opening page looks just fine in Safari, Mozzilla, Internet Explorer for OS 9 in Mac Internet Explorer in OSX Mac, Firefox on both Mac and PC but the table in the bottom frame will not line up with the table in the top frame using Internet Explorer for PC. There have been numerous other problems also such as paragraphs turning into 2 word colums etc, but only when viewing in Internet Explorer on the PC. It just drives me nuts. This is very simple html coding. I'd love to get the opening page right as it will be the template for all other pages. HELP! Dear members, I am not very good in HTML programming so please accept my apologizes if my question is very simple. I have a website called loonu.com. In IE7,IE8,Chrome,Firefox,Safari etc.. its mainpage (www.loonu.com) is shown exactly how i want to, whereas in IE6 it looks terrible. My question is, according to your experience is my mistake so obvious because i can not see it. Thanks for your help. So I have this code: Code: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24741033/css3menu1.css" /> <DIV align="center"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("ul.subnav").parent().append("<span></span>"); //Only shows drop down trigger when js is enabled - Adds empty span tag after ul.subnav $("ul.topnav li span").click(function() { //When trigger is clicked... //Following events are applied to the subnav itself (moving subnav up and down) $(this).parent().find("ul.subnav").slideDown('fast').show(); //Drop down the subnav on click $(this).parent().hover(function() { }, function(){ $(this).parent().find("ul.subnav").slideUp('slow'); //When the mouse hovers out of the subnav, move it back up }); //Following events are applied to the trigger (Hover events for the trigger) }).hover(function() { $(this).addClass("subhover"); //On hover over, add class "subhover" }, function(){ //On Hover Out $(this).removeClass("subhover"); //On hover out, remove class "subhover" }); }); </script> <div align="center"> <div class="container"> <div id="header"> <ul class="topnav"> <li><a href="http://www.desporto-em-directo.forumeiros.net">Homepage</a></li> <li> <a href="#">Live</a> <ul class="subnav"> <li><a href="/h50-live-1" target=player>Live 1</a></li> <li><a href="/h51-live-2" target=player>Live 2</a></li> <li><a href="/h52-live-3" target=player>Live 3</a></li> <li><a href="/h53-live-4" target=player>Live 4</a></li> <li><a href="/h54-live-5" target=player>Live 5</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="#">Notícias</a> <ul class="subnav"> <li><a href="/h34-sic-noticias" target=player>Sic Notícias</a></li> <li><a href="/h31-rtpn" target=player>Rtp N</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="#">Musica</a> <ul class="subnav"> <li><a href="/h44-nrj-pop" target=player>NRJ Pop</a></li> <li><a href="/h42-nrj-dance" target=player>NRJ Dance</a></li> <li><a href="/h43-nrj-pure" target=player>NRJ Pure</a></li> <li><a href="/h45-nrj-urban" target=player>NRJ Urban</a></li> </ul> </li> </li> <li> <a href="#">Desporto</a> <ul class="subnav"> <li><a href="/h39-sportv-brasil" target=player>Sportv1 BR</a></li> <li><a href="/h46-sportv2-brasil" target=player>Sportv2 BR</a></li> <li><a href="/h48-nba-tv" target=player>NBA TV</a></li> <li><a href="/h47-super-tennis" target=player>Super Tennis</a></li> </ul> </li> </li> <li><a href="/h1-guia-tv" target=blank>Programação</a></li> <li><a href="/h49-radios" target=player>Rádios</a></li> <li><a href="http://www.google.com/chrome" target=blank>Browser Recomendado</a></li> <li><a href="http://www.games-and-stuffs.blogspot.com" target=blank>Download de Jogos</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> but if I put on my webhoster (which is free) it doesn't support css or jquery in html code, so whats the html to host the css part in dropbox and instead of css code it understands the code wrote in css file on dropbox... Edit: i also placed it under CSS cos it could be a CSS problem aswell. Hello, I am fairly new to web programming, and I have taken over the web administration at my work. The page I am working with is an absolute mess, but I have one bug that I just cannot figure out for the life of me. It is an overlap problem, where one of the tables overlaps the one to the right of it, even though there doesn't seem to be anything "pushing" it out further, like unwrappable text or anything like that. It only occurs in IE/Win, I have viewed in both versions 6 and 7. If anyone could give me any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. URL: http://www.yonasmedia.com My daughter is building a website for some kind of school competition and is having a problem with how a table is displaying in IE 9. It displays properly in Chrome and FF though so I'm not sure what the problem is. Keep in mind, she's just a junior in HS and used, by all accounts, some antiquated methods in constructing the page. That said, I'm hoping someone could offer some insight into the issue. The table should be centered and the same the width of the banner and menu. For Chrome and FF, the table is centered on the page when the viewing resolution allows all the content to fit without the need for a scroll bar. On the pages where a scroll bar is needed, the table is shifted to the left to accommodate the scroll bar and thus becomes off-centered. I was thinking that an i-frame could take care of this since the scroll bar would then be located on the inside of the i-frame. In Chrome and FF, maybe it would. However, in IE, the table is displaced to the left on all pages. Interestingly enough, the displacement is the same with and without a scroll bar. Sooooo, I would humbly ask those with knowledge of such things to offer advice or a solution to this problem. Much appreciation is extended in advance. Here is the link to the site: http://www.newtonyouth.zxq.net Ok, I'm at wits end here. I have a page that is using two <ul> elements, with a few <li> elements in each. The layout works great in IE6, FireFox, and Safari. IE7 on the other hand is NOT cooperating. The problem is that IE7 seems to be "clipping off" the bottom of the <li> elements. It's hard to explain so here is a link: http://www.stovenet.com/index.php Look at the part of the page that is in the top-right corner. You will see the following: "Login Register Search Help" "Login" and "Register" each have an image to the left of them, which is placed there using css. The images will have he bottoms cut off. Also, there is css code that creates an orange bottom border when you hover over each of these elements, it does not show in IE7. Look at the same page in FF or Safari and it is perfect. IE6 looks ok but the images "bounce" when hovered over. If anybody can lend a hand I'd really appreciate it. I tried for hours to fix this and I am just coming up short. http://anastaciayeaaa.co.nr click ' online ' then the picture next to 'our affiliates' it doesnt work! the link is right, the file is in the right folder on the server.i even copy and pasted the url, changed the names etc.. :/ Reference: http://jlmechanicals.com/index.php So if you use IE 8 or FF, page loads as it should. Now, in IE 7: If you look in between the red and gray boxes, you will notice that there is a horizontal double gradient (that gradient is absent above and below the red boxes). The horizontal double gradient is set as the background for the <body> tag with repeat-y. Now, you need to look REALLY CLOSELY, in IE 7 only, at the very very bottom of the page, you will notice that the horizontal gradient produced by the background image for <body> is there (if you don't see it look closely, it can blend in really well with the bottom toolbar of internet explorer depending on what your color scheme is). Bottom margin for <body> is set to 0, and all other browsers obey except IE 7. So how do I fix this in IE 7? Thanks! Hello every1! I have a noob question (I guess). Just starting to build my first site Code: <table> <tr> <td></td> <td></td> </tr> <table> The thing is, both elements height <td></td> is depending on the content, which may vary, I cannot specify height in the code. how to make the second element <td> display at the same height as the first one. If the content of the first has 100px and the second only 50px i want them to be both 100. Hope U understand sorry 4 my english. |
