I'm sending an email to my boss with a link to a landing page thats goes into the details of my idea, but I want to make sure he can't forward it. Is there a way to disable the link once an email is forwarded We use HTML for our emails. Thanks in advance for everyone's time and patience. See attached file I get this error in IE when my page has passed W3C CSS and XHTML and HTML tidy can anyone help rectify it!? How do I make the landing pages work in all browsers. For example, my pages work in firefox perfectly but as soon as you open them in chrome they are off by about 2px (this includes all images, tables, etc). If I open it in IE, the page is all over the place (for example the table is at bottom instead of top). Is there a code to fix this or do I have to create a css file for each. If so, what type of code is needed to tell the page to read the css file that is needed depending on which brower is used by the user. 2. I have two landing pages and want to use both to determine which one is better by the amount of people that view it. To determine this I want to have one page open when the user clicks the link and then the next time a user clicks the link the second landing page will open. Basically I want each of the two pages to open up 50 percent of the time. How do I do this. Thanks I recently created a wordpress blog but I would like the visitors to come to a landing page before they reach the blog. This is the type of landing page I am looking for: http://creativetime.org/index.php - An image - The title of our site. When you click on it, you enter the blog - Credits at the bottom of the image. I have basic html knowledge. I browsed html tutorials but don't seem to find a solution. Any ideas? Thank you. I've got a form on our contact us page where people can send us emails directly through our website. I want to set it up so when a person hits send, they are redirected to a landing page where it says something like, We have received your message, blah blah blah..... How do I do this? Hi, I have a general question. I need a single landing page for 2 different domains. I know, it's a long story. Is there a better or even best way to set this up? Right now, I've simply copied the landing page and uploaded it to both sites where it splits into an "Enter Here" for one site, and an "Enter Here" for the other site. When done, the plan is to NOT point both domains to the same index page but keep them totally separate. I just would like to know if this is the right way to go about it and if not, what would be the best way? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Hi i work for a web design company and im new to dreamweaver and html My client needs me to create a main landing page for his site and it will say click here to enter and when i click here to enter it will require a user name and password to get into the site, how do i do that? I think there is a simple fix for this...but I can't think of it. My client has an existing site (not very well designed and no templates) with hundreds of static pages. She wants me to create a new home (index.htm) page that is just a simple landing page where people can choose to enter her website OR visit the store to purchase products. Simple enough...but, now all of the 100's of static pages have the link Home=index.htm on them. I want people to type in the URL: www.mysite.com (for example) and land on the new page to choose to go to the site to learn about her and her music OR go to the store to shop. Once they are in the site, however, and hit the home link, I don't want them to go 'all the way back out' to the new landing page. I want them to go back to the 'old' index.htm page (or her current home page), without having to change the index.htm links on those 100's of pages. Is there an easy fix for this, using a naming convention for the home page? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a bit stumped on this one. Ok, This might be a bit confusing but ill try my best. On my main website homepage i have a splash image which when clicked redirects to the main website, also in another folder i have a phpbb3 Forum. Below the image on my homepage i have a login box for the forum as well. What i would like to do is to hide that login box unless a keyword is entered before hand, and make the domain.com/forum URL inaccessible unless you login through this route. basically hiding the forum completely so people dont actually know its there. I could do this through .htaccess however i was hoping there was a "cleaner" way to do this. Many Thanks Rob Hello everyone, ! Im trying to create a new area in a forum for advertising and so on. I use phpbb scripts that use stylesheets and html so not sure where to go for this help. I have a site which you can see a jpeg he now I want to change it to this: any help or suggestion on where to start on this would be terrific? Hi all, Here's the site I'm working on www.davidakerman.com.au/ukulele And I want to incorporate this forum (have only just installed it), into here... http://www.davidakerman.com.au/ukulele/sites.html ...so that it sits inside the blue panels where the text currently is. If anyone can help out it'd be much appreciated. Thank you. Hi everyone, I need some help! I have a forum, as well as a separate website. Hi, not sure weather this is the right category because it is related to phpBB but I Have tried there forums, with no luck! I think I'm in the right section though. Basically, I am building in the sessions and users of my forum into my personal site. I am using the following script to check if users are logged on: Code: <?php define('IN_PHPBB', true); $phpbb_root_path = (defined('PHPBB_ROOT_PATH')) ? PHPBB_ROOT_PATH : '../computerhelp/'; $phpEx = substr(strrchr(__FILE__, '.'), 1); include($phpbb_root_path . 'common.' . $phpEx); // Start session management $user->session_begin(); $auth->acl($user->data); $user->setup(); ?> Your existing page goes here <?php if ($user->data['user_id'] == ANONYMOUS) { echo 'Please login!'; } else { echo 'Thanks for logging in, ' . $user->data['username_clean']; } ?> I want to redirect visitors to a page on my site if they are not logged on, but can not figure out how to do it. How? --------------------------- mba colleges in london hospitality management diploma Some mouses today have horizontal scroll, some call the tilt. It looks something like: http://www.htmlforums.com/attachment...1&d=1242556560 I noticed that many websites they code those horizontal scroll to go to next/prevous page. For example Discuz! forum system has this function. While you browse hundreds or thousands of posts separated into pages, the horizontal scroll can take you to previous page or next page.(not browser back/forward) How do I code like that? Or any examples? I believe in thread titles that get to the point. I have a basic page, when the page loads I want people to see the top of the page for a few seconds while a flash starts to load but then I want the page to scroll down a bit so the visitor can see the flash load progress status. I just want code that I can copy into my page. I don't have access to the flash code. Greg (the page under design) www.mytcanada.com/designer.html I have a programmer in the US who starts pages for me and then I much around with them until it's looks like I want. He helps me when I get stuck but he's on holidays. Any help would be great. Below are the two sites I will use to explain my problem. For reference, I used Mozilla Firefox 3.08 and Google Chrome 1.0.154.53 in my tests. Example 1: http://www.irishbyname.com/example1.htm Example 2: http://www.irishbyname.com/example2.htm When browsing the site in a browser other than Internet Explorer, example 1 and example 2 center to different locations on the page. In example 1, I set the height of the content area to be 200 px tall. In example 2, I set the height of the content area to be 500 px tall. When I have example 1 open in one tab and example 2 open in another, I can alternate between the two tabs and see a visual difference in alignment. The HTML code on both pages is exactly identical with the exception of the height of the content area. Can anyone tell me why the horizontal page center changes based on the height of the page? Can anyone tell me how to change my HTML to make certain the page centers correctly no matter how tall the page is? Thanks for your help in advance. I received this message from a friend whose site I just put up. ---------------------------- When you click on say the Home Page, and then you click on something else then go back to the prvious page, it apparently displays the previous page on the home page for example. I was not able to recreate this on my computer, but apparently, [another] web developer said this is a fairly common problem. Do you know what he is referring to, and can it be fixed? ---------------------------- Here's the site in question. Nothing fancy, just individual HTML pages. http://www.soundadviceht.com/index.html I gotta admit, I have no earthly clue what he's talking about, unless he's relaying the message wrong? Any ideas what he's talking about? |
