HTML - Ie7 Causing Screen Display While Resizing Window
When I resize/drag window in IE8 and FF the screen remains perfect by getting a HR scroll bar, but Ie7 is not rendering images/divisions properly while resizing the window,
all the text/menu get scrambled initially when dragging, but after refreshing it becomes perfect.. can I know why this happens? Is it problem with css or browser response/refresh time? I cannot give the link since this is an internal project hosted locally.. Any help appreciated.. Thanks Similar TutorialsHey everyone, I feel like this is a noob question, but I'm going to ask anyway. How do write my site so that my body stays in the same place and doesn't smash together when I manually resize my page? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Hi! I'm new to this site and new to HTML so please don't bash me. I really need help with a problem I have. I have four images as my buttons and links to various pages on my site. They're rectangles that spread out horizontally on my screen. However, not all computer screens are the same size, so at school for example, since the screen is smaller, the order of my links gets messed up. Is there any way to size an image so that it is 25% of a moniter? If so, could someone just like, right the code down so I may copy? I"m really bad at html. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! I've got another problem with my website. I've taken a screenshot that I wanted for my website background. But since it was took on my screen, it doesn't fill the screen on wider monitors. I'm just wondering if there's any information on auto-resizing a website background. Or is it a scirpt/CSS/php style thing? This problem seems abit more complex than me previous problem. I'm on a 19 inch monitor. Here is my website for those that have bigger screens than me. http://www.dawncraftmc.com/ Hi, is there a way that a window opens with a specific size? (not the window that opens with a link on a page) for example, when i go into www.gucci.com-the window will automatically resize to their specific size. I want my own website to open in a specific size but im not sure how.. I have a link that needs to open in a new, smaller window. I have the target="_blank" attribute set but the window opens at full size. I know that some people advise against opening links in a new window, but I need this one to do so. Any help greatly appreciated. Is there a way to disable the resizing of a window in firefox? I'm using this code: window.open('google.com','newwin','width=200,height=200,resizable=no') In Internet Explorer it's working fine but in Firefox it's not Thanks Hey everyone! I am a game developer and some of my games apear in Internet Explorer. The problem is that the players can resize the window if they got IE7 or IE8. On the previous versions this wasn't possible because I blocked it using HTML. How do I block this resizing option (100%..125%...) now? THANKS Hi folks, I am frustrated and hope that someone can throw their three cents in the mix and offer a solution for a web design problem I'm facing. I am sure it is simple to someone who understands the complexities of web design. I am developing a website ..however when I go to view the site on a smaller monitor, my site looks squished and the elements are all on top of one another. I have a 20 inch monitor and I assume that I should be designing for a 17 inch, eh? What can I do so as my web page resizes correctly for any size monitor? http://www.talktomydog.com/coach.htm Do I need to change the resolution of the monitor to 800x600 when I design the site,,or is it something else I need to do? Thanks so much.. T i'm trying to wrap my head around floats, and implement them into a new design i'm doing. basically it's a 4 column directory listing. it looks fine when the browser is >960px, but once you resize your browser so only two columns fit horizontally, the 3rd column appears below as desired BUT it is off to the right, and the 4th column is below on the left. once you resize your browser so only one column fits horizontally, it appears correct again. any tips to fix the layout when only two columns can fit horizontally? the site is here (css is in the header for now): http://cortlandareatribune.com/test/directory.html Hi Can someone tell me how I can stop an image from moving behind a table - next to it - when the browser window is reduced? Here's the page http://www.tall-shiprace.com/2009/04/19/1247/ When I re-size (from the bottom right corner of the browser) the image floats behind the table - to the left of the image. Can this be stopped?? Greetings, Thanks in advance for any help. Basically, I'm new to HTML, I've made a site with an external CSS file, its all good, except that all the elements stay to the left. The browser background is grey, the actual page background is white (its an image, however, not just the colour). The page adjusts when I resize the IE window, but nothing else does, they just stay there. I've tried absolute positioning, relative, and so on, but nothing seems to fix it. How do I get the elements to move? I've attached the CSS and index file (named portfolio) for reference. I apologise in advance for my general noobiness. I hope the poorly written attachments don't hinder the helping process. Thank you, Panda. I need to display an image (size 1024x768) in IE explorer so when i hit f11 (kiosk mode) its full screen. Then I need that image to refresh every X seconds with out flickering on the screen. The file is a bmp and is about 5mb and only will be changed a few times a day by a program I wrote in Vb.net. It will write over the existing file so the webpage would pick up the changes when it refreshes. Codes I'v tried already: Code:

 <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="10;URL="meta.htm";"transition">
New Page 1

and Code: However the first one flickers and the 2nd doesnt display in full screen. Any information or even pointing me in the right direction would help. I know almost nothing about java and html =x How i create a frame type space( which is scrollable ) similar to seperate window inside a webpage ? I placed all my adsense ads into iFrames but when I resize the window small all the ads are pushed to the middle of the screen. How can I make them stay put. I tried working with divs too but it makes the ads the highest layer and it makes an invisible border stretching across the screen and I cant click anything thats in that border range. heres some of my code:

BIO

Hi all, I am wondering if anyone know how to have a link, once clicked, open a popup window WHILE also changing the page in the existing window. I know how to code them separately, but I do not know how to combine the two actions. HTML Code: link name My site currently uses the above code to open popup windows. Any help would be much appreciated, David Here is the case. I have an HTML page that opens a pop-up. Within the popup I need upon click to open a new window. The code is as it should be according to all references: text Everything is ok with IE6 and IE7 - a new window is being opened. What happens in Firefox is very strange - tabs are shown and the currently opened popup becomes one of the tabs and the new window opens in a new tab of the pop-up window instead in a new normal window. Did anybody encounter the same problem? Any solutions? I am working on the webpage: http://www.ashleylandscaping.com All works well, until you click on the "Contact" button. If you look at the other pages, everything is displayed properly. On the "Contact" page you will see a "Contact Us Form". When i have this form/table on the webpage, the whole bottom of the page disappears. If I remove that form from the page, everything looks fine. It must be just 1 or 2 things i'm missing, but I cant see it for the life of me. hi I have used this cdata like this but the javascript is not at all working in IE.. I use script's in between a lot so I want this to be valid in w3c....... I tried this also // // but no use, can I know how to use this without effecting the functionality in any browsers? its urgent plse... I have a weird problem with a site which I've been running for most of the year. The problem arrived recently. The site is at http://www.les-amis-des-chats.com. If you go to it in IE7/8, look at the left hand side; under the navigation bar is an orange blob. It doesn't show up in Firefox, Google Chrome or Opera, but you do also get it in the Windows version of Safari. When I preview the page on my PC hard disc (running XP Pro) using IE7 or Safari, the blob isn't there! But it's there when I view the identical pages on the server. I know the blob is related to the navigation bar, in that first, when you hover the mouse over the blob it shows links to pages on the site, but upside down relative to the links in the navigation bar, and secondly, when I redesigned the navigation bar, the blob changed colour. Orange is the colour of the submenu links in the new design. I tried rebuilding the bar, and the "new" bar is only on the index page, but this made no difference. The blob appears on all the pages using the old and the new bar. Needless to say the problem didn't appear when I first inserted the "old" bar - it has appeared since then. Go to the French-language half of the site (click on the French flag in the top right corner), where there is a similar navigation bar built with the same software, and there is no sign of the problem. Any suggestions as to possible causes and cures will be gratefully received. And a Happy New Year to you all. Hi everyone. This is my 1st msg on this forum so a BIG HELLO to everyone out there. Here's my problem. In my HTML I have the following DOCTYPE and a bunch of javascript and HTML to implement a rich-text editor (this is actually a pre-written component that I'm using on the page). On Firefox the page views perfectly - no problems. On IE 6, all the buttons etc are displayed but the actual text are where the user can type is not visible so the component doesn't work properly. The strange thing is, if I change the DOCTYPE declaration to : then everything works fine in both IE and FF. My problem is that I need to keep the 1st DOCTYPE and can't use the second. Would appreciate if someone could help me figure out why the page does not work in IE.
