I'm not very experienced with html. I want to make tables with borders, but i dont like the look of

Hi, On my website I have a breadcrumbs section on top of the page and on the side of the page, I have a navigation section. The problem that I am having is that the border-bottom of the breadcrumb section - streches out to 100% of the screen, but the height of the navigation section does not. I have kept the height as 100% (as I did with the width of the other section) but the border-right and the background colour cuts off.
