HTML - Help! I Need Formating Help With My Html Document!

Similar TutorialsSo I haven't done a site in some time, but I still got the very basic basics memorized. To guide me through my born-again virginity I tried a pre-built free web site. Everything was working great. I'd preview through Dreamweaver and the very basic site looked just fine. I now upload the site to the world wide web and parts of the HTML/CSS are not translating properly (in fact there are parts missing that should be there???). The first problem occurs in the section of the CSS called "PAGE". "Page" has a repeater called "img04" and "Page .bgtop" non-repeater called "img03_blue". "page . bgtop - img_03..." doesn't show up - but in preview it did. Any ideas on what's going on? Second, in the area tagged "MENU A" in the CSS the static background image called "img07_blue" doesn't show - again, in the preview it did, now nothing on the web. I assume its a similar issue to issue 1, but I don't know? This is for a web site my wife needs so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached the site for reference. I'm trying to edit a notification email for my blog and have most of it completed; however the only problem I'm having is that there is a gap between the menu-bg-2.png and the top of the table which I cannot get rid of. I'd like the table to be butted-up against menu-bg-2.png. When testing the html in firefox, it seems fine, but within an email the gap appears. Can anyone help? hi ppl I'm formatting a table and i need some pro help. http://doyouwantfreecash.blogspot.com opening it in firefox2 everything looks aligned, but opening it in ie6 it gets messed up.. Hello everybody, I'm new here. I'm redesigning my own website and came up with some tricky situation. I write HTML lessons and I want to put just the pure code in my posts, but they appear as a regular html document... How do I make the code to be shown just as text (code), like we do in the forum boards (code tags or whatever)? I have to send someone a family tree chart converted from a no-text-wrap RTF file to an HTML file so they can upload it to the internet. I have converted files from RTF to HTML easily enough with PolyEdit in the past, but this file has a very large width. When I convert it, the resulting HTML file doesn't keep the no-text-wrap setting and everything is a mess. Is there a way around this? I have a document I've created in HTML and I'm attempting to be able to have people fill it out and save the results. The document contains radio buttons, check boxes, and text fields that need to be filled out. Now I need a way to have the results saved and sent to me. For some reason I thought if they saved the page after compleating it and e-mailed it to me it would save their results, but it just sends the orriginal page. Any suggestions. I have a client that want's me to create some emailable stationary that they can in turn send to all their clients. I'm working on a MAC Leopard using Safari and Firefox. The cool thing about Safari is that you can take any webpage and turn it into emailable stationary by going File>email contents of webpage. It will copy images, formatting CSS and I think embedded Java Scripts. So I thought Great. I'll create a simple webpage, turn it into stationary... 30 minutes and I should be done. 3 days later I'm still working on this project and I'm stuck. The issue it the. I have created a webpage. If I type text into the Textarea and do something like... create new webpage (to create a new webpage from the current address) the text will not copy into the new document. Does that make sense? So the text getting entered into the textarea where is that in my html code? I've viewed the source code and cannot find it. Is it being entered into cache or something? I do not know enough about this (obviously) and am really looking for some help. Anyone that could give a helping hand I'd really appreciate it. The following are our questions 1. With no-chache response headers in the base document, whether the included external javascript or css files will be cased in browser? 2. Is there any difference between firefox and IE in this regard? 3. If we decide to gizip the response for improving performance, will it make any difference in browser caching? 4. Is it possible direct the browser not to cache the base document, but cache the the heavy external files which are included? Looking forward for some quick suggestions. Thanks and regards, SAN Hello, I am designing a new layout for my myspace using an overlay. What this means is I had to put all the links back in, and put in everythign by hand because I was more or less bypassing myspace's built in tools. The only problem I have is that now I have my code put in place and it displays everything fine except that it is all shifted to one side just a little bit so I have this ugly white bar that runs up the left side because all the code is shifted just a little bit to the right, and some of the original page is showing under the overlay. I do not know if this means I need to shift the overlay to the left or the code that I put in for my layout. Either way I coudl use some help in figuring this out Also, right now I have the background color set on the whole page as black. When I take out the style code that does that it shows white on the edges and shows how the content is shifted. I recently spoke with a potential client that wants to copy a feature on another website: http://batchgeo.com/ as you can see, on batchgeo.com the end user can paste data from excel into the textarea field, then when the user clicks out of the textarea, it formats the data to look like it is in a table. Each title is clickable and takes you to a section of the website relative to the title clicked. My problem is that I want everything to line up nicely and this is problematic using the <p> tag - for example: ARTICLE 1 - BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ARTICLE 10 - BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH I want to look like this. (Actually scratch that this forum suffers the same problem I get when trying it on my own site, but you can comprehend what I'm talking about =] ). I realize there are cheap fixes such as just adding a bunch of spaces and what not but it still doesn't work. I could explain why but just trust me it doesn't work. My idea was to just use a table with 2 columns: 1 column = ARTICLE # - 2 column = BLAH BLAH BLAH however I can't extend a clickable title across 2 columns. Also I should note that I'm using DRUPAL.
