HTML - Limiting Frame Width
Greetings,
I am trying to prevent the my window from scrolling from side to side and up&down. You can see in my image that the frame has excess information to the right of the screen. I cannot tell if this is b/c of the images or if the problem is in the code. Okay so this is the code for the index.php page, what it does is displays a menu frame on the left at 15% of the page, and then the content page on the rest of it. What I would like it to do is instead of using 15% for the right frame I would like to use 180pixels instead, and the left frame should take up the remainder of the page. This frame is different for me though as it uses the stylesheet to supply it's width, height, border, and ect. Hi, I'm kind of new to HTML and I've been trying to make a website that has 3 frames in it. One frame extends across the entire top of the page and has about a 100 pixel height. The second frame extends the entire length of the page, but only has a width of about 200 pixels. Which leaves the rest for the thrid frame. I'm doing this so that frames one and two don't change and all of the content changes in the third frame. I'm running into an issue, because I cannot figure out how to get one frame extend across the top and one fram extend the length of the page. I can do one or the other but not both. is there any way that I can configure the columns and rows so that the page takes on this look? I want it to target an anchor called Code: <a name="anchor"></a> that is INSIDE it's own frame. TIA, James Ok I know this isn't really a HTML issue, but to avoid complex clientside pixel-counting of fonts I've thought of something far more simple. I need to limit the length of a string to stop it wrapping. Now however the strings are not all of equal length because of differences in length of each character (see the warmdebate.com homepage for my debacle). I thought that a relatively simple solution would be to simple use some sort of CSS or HTML wizardry to stretch the trimmed string to a fixed length (like full alignment, only for a non-wrapped string). Since this doesn't involve pixel counting or anything like that I figure it should be doable in CSS or HTML. Also, if there are any standard solutions to this other than what I'm proposing please let me know! im creatinh a box containing a text. The box must be wide enough to fill a text. menu.style.width = tekst.length - this functioin gives the number of letters in text. So if the text is "hello" then the width is 5 pixels. Hey Guys - I need to make a real basic page with a frameset-like element. I need the top part of the page to remain stationary, and the bottom scroll underneath it - so that the top part of the page stays on stop of whatever the user is looking at.
