HTML - File Attachment In Form
How can you specify the type of document that can be attached/sent through a form? This seems to be the least I could do to ensure that what is being sent is the information being requested and not a corrupt or virus ridden jpeg or pdf. If I wanted to allow microsoft word documents how could I do this?
While an alternative may exist I haven't found the free one. This form is sent directly to a person who posted an add asking for information. When I send it the <meta> tag contains "charset=iso-8859-8" - Hebrew(ISO-Visual) but when the recipiant opens it the charset has changed to "charset=iso-8859-8-i" - Hebrew(ISO-Logical) which causes the text to appear left-to-right instead of right-to-left as I sent it. What causes this behaviour and how can I correct it? I have spent the past few days looking all around the web and have found conflicting information some things say that you can do it and others say that you can't. I have been using this code... mailto:name@domain.com?subject=requested file&attachment=""f:\test.txt"" when i do this i get it to open an email with no attachment or i get an error message that i can't recreate right now but it is something to the toon of "invaild comand line. check the switch you are using" any help or solutions that would be great. I am aware there are differing opinions regarding Html emails. However, I have been requested to produce an html document to email to specific recipients in this format. Some of the html functions I need to use are not handled well by the Email client I am using (Outlook 2007), let alone where it is going. Therefore as a workaround I am attempting to email the html document as an attachment to my email, so that it will be opened in a web browser. However, I am having trouble, linking to the attached photos to the same email from within that html document. I have successfully, embeded the photos into the same email, using CDO 1.21 (from MS Access VBA) and <img src=cid: etc. However, this does not work for the attached html file. Any ideas on how to refer to them from within the attached html document would be greatly appreciated, even if I am going in the wrong direction. Thank you. Thing is, I have a form with enctype="multipart/form-data" and 2 inputs with type "file" in it with names RequestForm[doc1] and RequestForm[doc2]. When I submit the form, only the first one of the fields is sent into $_POST. If i comment out the 1st field, then only the second is sent. This thing is just killing me! Could someone help? What might be wrong? And yes, I do need 2 inputs, not 1 multifile input. So all I want to do is to make a form where I can upload files to my webserver. I'd just like to stick to plain old HTML if possible. I made the form and the page but the problem is that when I upload a file the form gets submitted properly and it goes to another web page that is set as the action on the form however the file is nowhere to be seen! I'm by no means a web developer, but owning a business I tend to learn a little of everything - probably just enough to be dangerous. I'm trying to post a page that will have survey questions for all the brides that come through our boutique. The form has to be able to handle the normal form stuff - text fields, check boxes, etc. - but it also has to upload a user selected file. The idea is to get a bunch of feedback as well as a shot of the bride in her wedding gown. So, we'll have testimonials and accompanying pics. (I'm warning about copyright issues on the form). A prize will be randomly awarded to one of the survey participants at the end of the whole thing... once the promo is over. So, I've got the form pretty much done. But, I need a script that can handle the results and stores the images in such a way that I know what survey it goes with... make sense? Help me out here, I'm stuck. And they would like to update their site relatively often, but I don't have the time and they don't have the knowledge of updating the page. So I was wondering if I could just embed the text into the html file using a .shtml file (ex <!--#include file="maintext.shtml" -->) and create a form on a seperate, password protected page that would have a simple textarea and submit button that would allow them to edit the text in the .shtml file and press submit, therefore editing the text in the .shtml file? Is this possible? Any idea why the "theuploadedfile" input is not displayed when the program comes in after the submit ?
