HTML - Form Legend Problem
Cant figure out whats wrong here. When the page is loaded, the legend doesnt appear on top of the form like it should. It displays itself inside the form instead. Suggestions?
Code: <form method="post" action="mailto:espngear@yahoo.com" name="form" onsubmit="return validate_form ( );"> <fieldset> <legend>Ask Us!</legend> <b>Your Name:</b> <input name="yourname" type="text" size="25"/> <p><b>How may we contact you?</b> <font size="1" face="arial">* Enter contact information in both fields</font></p><b> E-mail:</b> <input name="email" type="text" size="25"/> <b>Phone:</b> <input name="phone" type="text" size="25"/><br/><br/> <b>Question Type:</b> <select name="questiontype"> <option selected="selected">Select</option> <option>General/Service Question</option> <option>Pricing</option> <option>Printing Job</option> </select> <font size="1" face="arial">*This specifies what you're asking</font><br/><br/> <b>Your Question:</b><br/><br/> <textarea name="questionbox" cols="55" rows="10" onclick="document.form.questionbox.value='';">Type your question here</textarea><br/><br/></fieldset> <input type="submit" value="Send" class="buttons" onClick="return checkmail(this.form.email)"/> <input type="reset" value="Clear Form" class="buttons"/> Similar Tutorialshi everybody. can i use fieldset/legend out of the form with an image in the "legend"? it's ok and validator says so but i wonder should i realy use it? thanks Hey guys.. its been a while. Hope everyone has been well. Anyways I'm trying to help out a friend with their site which is located at http://www.centerforholistichealth.com Anyways if you look at the left most column near the bottom with the form for signing up for the monthly newsletter is you will see a legend/fieldset box, for some reason the box is coming out of bounds. Anyone have any ideas on how this might be corrected so that is stays within its bounds. Thanks as always, Eric Does anyone know how to put (or if it's possible) form buttons into the legend of a field set? I tried searching but not really found much. The following snippet resulted in the text for the legend and the button from the form residing just inside the fieldset and not actually in the legend it self. The border of the fieldset then remained unbroken around the content of the fieldset: Code: <fieldset id="fieldset1"> <form action="nrt.php" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="c_name" value="$c_name[0]" /> <legend> Editing page for class: <i>$c_name[0] <button id="button-submit_4" type="submit">(edit)</button> </i> </legend> </form> It's really annoying because the page would look pretty damn neat if I could get the button in the legend. Any help here or anything would be very much appreciated <fieldset> <legend align="left">Logo</legend> <textarea cols="111" rows="3"><center><img src="images/logo.gif"></center> </textarea> </fieldset> The legend appear ok, but for some reason the initial text contained within the textarea isn't displayed - how do i fix this? www.bkriegtech.net/?page=contact no longer checks for the required fields... what would cause this? Hi all I am having problem with form tab, please see http://www.cmela.com/ it looks good in FF but in IE after header it showing space, at the moment form tag is outside of the table tag, if i put form tag like this. <table> <form> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> </form> </table> this works fine but it shows errors in w3c validation any idea Ok I have a page with multiple forms on it. All the forms are coded like this. <form action="indexreport.cfm?fuseaction=casereport" etc. etc. But for some reason one of the forms I had to code like this in order to make it work. <form action="/sales/indexreport.cfm?fuseaction=demoreport" etc. etc. Why in the world did just this one form require me to add the directory like that. All the other forms are working just fine without it. This has been vexing me all weekend, I really hope somebody can crack this one.. Thanx!! Working on the next version of my site... Can't get any of the forms to align, example: www.bkriegtech.net/2008/?page=contact I hate to beat a dead horse here.. but I just redid a contact form adding a captcha, and now nothing aligns right, and I can't seem to fix it. Can somebody fix if they have a moment? Thanks a million! The URL is www.bkriegtech.net/?page=contact creating a form but having a problem with the "checked" attribute. According to the book, this html below is correct but on the page, the other option "wholebean" is always checked when reloading the page, where's the problem please? I wonder if somebody can help me. I have generated an opt-in form from Imnica Mail(Autoresponder). I put the code in a textbox widget in the sidebar using Wordpress. I want to add two things in the generated code - an image just above the First name textbox, and a text saying "Privacy: We respect your privacy." under the button. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, they do not show. I have copied the code below. I would be very grateful if you could help me. Thanks paul I am trying to make a form which has some Yes/No radio button options such as are you over 18? The code that I am using is shown below. Each radio button in the age group has a label next to it stating what the value of the button is. In addition to this I want to include the question "Are you over 18?" which I am presuming is another <label>. However what do i put for the for="???" bit because the two radio buttons which it is associated have different ids (ageY and ageN). Can someone advice me on how best to approach this problem in terms of accessibility please? Code: <fieldset> <legend>Personal Details</legend> <label for"???">Are you over 18?</label> <input type="radio" name="age" id="ageY" value="Yes" /> <label for="ageY">Yes</label> <input type="radio" name="age" id="ageN" value="No" /> <label for="ageN">No</label> </fieldset> So i have a form i am trying to email when you click submit, but i don't like the way the mailto function works. So i am trying to use php to email the form. Then have the user directed to a thank you page. The problem is when i click send it loads the sendmail.php page but its just a blank page and nothing happens. I can't figure out how to fix it. All help is appreciated, thanks. I have the form i am trying to email: Quote: <form method="post" action="sendmail.php"> <font face="Myriad Pro"><b>Name:</b></font><input type="text" size="24" maxlength="40" name="name"> <br /> <font face="Myriad Pro"><b>Email: </b></font><input type="text" size="24" maxlength="40" name="email"> <br /> <input type="submit" value="Send"> </form> </font> And then i have the sendmail.php: Quote: <?php $email = $_REQUEST['email'] ; $name = $_REQUEST['name'] ; mail( "*****@gmail.com", "Form send", $name , "From: $email" ); header( "Location: thankyou.html" ); ?> And then i have a simple page that says thank you. Hello, I have created a form, but i have a big problem. I think i make a terrible mistake with the code. I think problem is comming from here, and this is the code where i have doubts: <form action=" mailto:name@somemail.com ?subject=form submission" method="post" enctype="text/plain"> My idea is to receive an email with some information of the next fields, but when i submit the information from the form , my outlook express is opening. How can i fix it and the submited info to go to my email? Thanks !!! Hi Ya, I am trying to validate the telephone number for a form. I would really like some help. You see when i leave the telephone field blank the code error message comes up telling me that i cant leave that field blank. When i then put in illegal characters it says that i used illegal characters but instead of clearing the feild, allowing me to type the correct phone number and then moving onto the getradio if statement it goes to receipt page when the submit button is clicked instead of doing the validate checks first and then moving onto the receipt.html page. This is the problem area. Code: if (form.phone.value == "") { alert("Please enter your telephone number for shipping Information."); form.phone.focus(); return (false); } else { validate(); } if (getRadio("pay") == null) { alert("Please choose a payment method."); return (false); } return (true); } //--></script> <script language="javascript"> function validate() { if (isNaN(parseInt(this.value))) { alert("The phone number contains illegal characters."); form.phone.focus(); return (false); } } //--></script> The below code is for the form. Code: <FORM name="information" action="..\..\Cars\GT\receipt.html" method="get" onSubmit=" return form_Validator(this)"> <!-- Tells the button what action to take --> The below code is the full validation check function Code: <!-- This is used to validate the radio buttons to make sure that one of those options are pressed --> <script language="javascript"> function getRadio(radioName){ var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName('input'); var ret = null; for(var i = 0; i < inputs.length; i++){ if(inputs[i].type == 'radio' && (inputs[i].name == radioName || inputs[i].id == radioName) && inputs[i].checked){ ret = inputs[i].value; } } return ret; } <!-- This is used to validate the text boxes to make sure that an item is written into it --> <!-- I f the next box remains empty an error message appears --> function form_Validator(form) { if (form.first_name.value == "") { alert("Please enter your first name for shipping Information."); form.first_name.focus(); return (false); } if (form.last_name.value == "") { alert("Please enter your last name for shipping Information."); form.last_name.focus(); return (false); } if (form.address.value == "") { alert("Please enter your address for shipping Information."); form.address.focus(); return (false); } if (form.acode.value == "") { alert("Please enter the area code for shipping Information."); form.acode.focus(); return (false); } if (form.phone.value == "") { alert("Please enter your telephone number for shipping Information."); form.phone.focus(); return (false); } else { validate(); } if (getRadio("pay") == null) { alert("Please choose a payment method."); return (false); } return (true); } //--></script> <script language="javascript"> function validate() { if (isNaN(parseInt(this.value))) { alert("The phone number contains illegal characters."); form.phone.focus(); return (false); } } //--></script> </head> Hello, I have an trouble with an html form validation called in a div with a javascript code for form validation.
