HTML - Transparent Pngs And Ie6
I am suprised i have never come across this before i am sure i must have tried adding a png with no background to a non-white page background and viewing it in IE6, so i have just found that IE6 gives a transparent png a bluey/grey background. After a quick google it seems thereis a solution for IE wwhich is to use,
filter:progidXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader() which i tried and it works as it should but i am suprised i have never seen or heard of this code before, consdering the amout of html code i have ever looked through which is a lot, someone must have used a transparent png on their site, what am i missing why have i never seen this before ?? Similar TutorialsI hope someone can help me, this has been driving me a little crazy trying to work out what is going on. Basically I've built a little website for my inlaws http://www.cornishsunshine.co.uk using HTML and CSS written using DreamWeaver CSS5.5. Everything shows up fine when you preview in FireFox/Chrome/IE/Safari etc, but when I have published it to the web in IE the alt tags show up instead of the .png's in the left hand DIV. This only happens in IE8, in the other browser's the .png's show up as expected from the preview. Hi Don't know if this is the correct forum, but I will add it here. I am doing a new site, and trying my best to get it working in IE6. Everything is going OK with the set up so far. However, I have to use PNGs for a drop shadow. (if anyone knows a better way, btw, that works in IE6, please tell me :-) ) Anyway, all the positions, etc are correct and they become transparent. The issue is they seem to be getting a larger vertical size than they should have. You can see this on the top corner shadow, as it overlaps the one below. Test Page Is there a cure for this? Problem :-- In my case every thing in container div becomes transparent. How can I make sure that image and text does not becomes transparent however container div whose background color is red becomes transparent. plz help! Hi, I want to implement something like this into my website, with a single 'snipped-off' corner image on an otherwise square, bordered content surround. I'm really not sure what would be the best way to do it, though. Would you use divs or tables, and how exactly would you go about implementing it? The title png file that floats with the text over the background image is fixed but the google banner at the base of the page is still filling in the transparent area with white. What I want to be able to do is position the elements one on top of each other, but have their height set to 100% rather than a fixed amount, and for them to be centered. Any ideas? Any idea what's causing this? Thanks in advance. Is there a way to change the way IE handles transparent portions of an element - like a 200x200 pixel div with borders but no background? Firefox will consider "onmouseover" for the entire div, but IE seems only to react to the thin border. So, I can make a simple drag-and-drop div in Firefox, but in IE you have to pick the 1 pixel border to drag it around :-( Putting a transparent image in the div does not help, since this will make the browser itself grab that image, ignoring my script.
