Similar TutorialsHi all, I was trying some real simple HTML code, but I couldnt get my "firstTag" to start at the top of the page i.e. top: 0px and left 0px. If I try to make the position absolute the entire alignment of the sub table changes. Can someone please tell me how to fix it? Thanks, HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head> <title>Untitled Page</title> </head> <body> <div id="firstTag" style="background-color: Red;"> <table><tr><td><img alt="pic" src="ms.png" /></td><td style="text-align: right;" ><a class="upperBHeading">User: abc</a> | <a class="upperHeading">Sign Out</a></td></tr></table> </div> </body> </html> I cannot believe I am asking this question, but we all do get stuck in some older html stuff anyway, here's the question: I am working on Framesets, and can't seem to get them to work, I went on two w3c.org and used that, but they display 3 files, I have One main file which is mainfile.html one file for leftside stuff leftsidesource.html and right side stuff, rightsidesource.html How can I bring left side and right side onto mainfile.html?? I went with my own instincts and couldn't get it to work... Thanks in advance! =-) I was reading about doctypes, and I found the XHTML frameset. I wondered what that was, and Googles it, but all I know is that it deals with frames. I can't find any straight answers about what frames are or how to use the frameset doctype. What are frames, and can someone link me to a tutorial on using them? Im trying to do a frameset. Ive searched everywhere but cant find a code to help me what i am trying to do is create a frameset with 4 frames. 1 left side frame (full length of window) 2 center frames (half window each) and another 1 right frame window (full lenght) any ideas anyone?? Thanks!! hi there can anyone tell me how to put in a background color on iFrames ? am trying to call a particual site onto to a new html page but i want the new html page to have a different background color ? how do i do tht ? Hi, I am Loading two frames in a page. Iam having huge amount of data in frame2 so i want to make it invisible initially after the dat is loaded then i want to make frame2 visible and frame1 invisible. any one suggest the solution?? Here is the code that am using visible="false" is not working <html> <frameset cols="55%,*" FRAMEBORDER=NO FRAMESPACING=0 BORDER=0> <frame src="LoadingFrame.aspx" NORESIZE /> <frame visible="false" src="VisitorInsightsDashboard.aspx" scrolling="no"/> </frameset> </html> I have a webpage with a header, column on each side, footer and a mainContainer in the middle. I would like to set up links on the left column that, when clicked, open a new 'page' in the center (mainContainer). I am using all div tags, no tables. Could someone point me in the right direction? TIA I Can't center my whole nav bar in the middle of the sidebar 1 div. Here is the link for the website. http://northwindappaloosas.com/NewHome.html I have several div tags that I want exactly where I place them regardless of a user's screen size / resolution ... if I place them right of left 200 px then they shfit depending on resolution ... samve if I place them right of left by, say 85%. I'm figuring if I place the div tage left of center or right of center then they will always position correctly because the center doesn't vary according to resolution. How do I do this? I tried document.getElementById("divid").style.center = "25"; (i was attempting 25 pixels right of center) but it doesn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks! I am administering this forum www.br-eeze.com So please enter there as the flashing banner and the weather widgets. Both are positioned on the left. Now this is the code for the banner: <td align="center" valign="top" width="90" height="55"><A target = "_blank" HREF="http://www.br-eeze.com"><IMG SRC="http://www.xxx.com/test1.gif" border=0 width=728 height=90 ></a> As you can see I tried to center it. I even typed right but still everything is aligned to the left. PLEASE, how do I center the banner and the weather widgets? I am learning how to use Div's to replace Tables for layout. Needless to say, there are many properties I need to learn with CSS's. A friend wants a Floating area on the left which I have created, however I would like to have the box be centered in the main text area. Not sure if that can be done with my prototype at http://www.toddcary.com/viewpoint/div_todd_a.html Any help would be appreciated... Todd http://www.ivoog.com/test/help The boxes that have: Paypal, Policies, Financing, Wholesale, etc. How can these be centered in all browsers including IE6? I can't get it to work Here's the CSS: #othermain2 { width:850px; height:850px; float:left; } #middlestyle { width:850px; text-align:center; margin:auto; overflow:auto; } .middlebox { width:150px; text-align:center; float:left; font-size:24px; margin-left:50px; margin-top:50px; border:solid 5px #333; } .middlebox:hover { width:150px; text-align:center; float:left; font-size:24px; margin-left:50px; margin-top:50px; border:solid 5px #390; } FULL CSS: http://www.pics.ivoog.com/page/home.css Can anyone help me?
