HTML - Need Help Aligning Picture Links
Hi, im having trouble aligning the picture links on my site. I basically just want to be able to put one at the left, one in the middle and one at the right. Currently I can only get them to go downwards one after the other.
Could someone please do this for me by editing the source code? If you could put 3 on the top row and 1 underneath at the bottom left then I could probably take it from there using the same code. Also ideally, the text that says 'Description' would be directly under each picture link. Sorry if this is a lot to ask, im pretty out of my depth here... http://blank.50webs.com/test.html Similar TutorialsNo longer need assistance. hi all i am attempting to build my first forum and am having a little trouble. http://hvg.ucoz.com i have made up a picture for a header for my forum which works fine but i am unable to work out how to put links on the picture itself i can only get them to go over or under it. the txt on it at the moment i have put on there in paint (no supprise that doesnt work) its more for you to be able to see what i am trying to do this is what i have got at the moment, i have deleted everything as i was making a mess not knowing what i was doing. <img src="http://asif-clan.ucoz.com/Top_Background-finished-.png" border="0" alt="" style=""> thanks for any help in advance its appreciated I have a pagination sample that I'm working on and I need a little bit of help getting some links to line up correctly. There is a image link (prev) to start off followed by a bunch of normal text links and capped off by another image link (next). As it stands the text links that are in between the two image links are vertically aligning to the bottom of those images. No matter what I try I can't get them to align to the vertical center. Any ideas or tips would be great. You can view my page at http://mptp.o3world.com/pagination_test.html And here is my page code. HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <style type="text/css" media="screen"> body { margin: 0; padding: 0; font: 11px Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } #search_pagination p { padding: 16px 0; } #search_pagination p a { margin-left: 1px; padding: 0 4px; color: #449d02; border: 1px solid #449d02; text-decoration: none; } #search_pagination p a:hover { background: #449d02; color: #fff; } #search_pagination p a.button { margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="search_pagination"><p><a href="##" class="button"><img src="images/button_prev.png" alt="Previous" width="69" height="30" border="0" /></a> <a href="##">1</a> <a href="##">2</a> <a href="##">3</a> <a href="##">4</a> <a href="##">5</a> <a href="##">6</a> <a href="##">7</a> <a href="##">8</a> <span>...</span> <a href="##">14</a> <a href="##">15</a> <a href="##" class="button"><img src="images/button_next.png" alt="Next" width="70" height="30" border="0" /></a></p></div> </body> </html> I'm trying to align my link in the center of the page, but from some reason it still appears left. Here's the code I'm using- Code: <a href="http://or-bar.tripod.com/wheeloftime.html" align="center">Next</a> What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to position text, links and pictures to follow one after the other, but it doesn't work. I want to see "Homepage" on the left corner of my webpage "Next" on the right corner of my webpage Unfortunately this command doesn't work properly. <div style="text-align:left;solid 2px #ff0000;"><a href="F:\Webcomic\Website Folder\NWvisuals-Index.html"> Home</a> <p align=right><a href="F:\Webcomic\TheEyeoftheWorld3.html">Next</a></div></p> It makes the "Next" go down a line, instead of being in the same line of the "Homepage". Also, on that vein, is there any way I can align images and text on the same line without using spaces*? As in: <p align="left">Hello</p> <p align="center">Hello</p> <p align="right">Hello</p> But they all should stay on the same line. Any guides, or even links to tutorial about my issue would be appreciated. I've been trying to google for a while, it's becoming frustrating. *I think the problem with spaces is that people with different resolution would see the text in different places than I want them to see. Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right area. This is my first time posting here. I currently have my main pages listed at the top of my site as graphics (see fussybaby.ca). I would like to potentially remove these graphics and use text links instead - I had the graphics designed for me, so I can't just go in and make new ones, however I'd like to change/rearrange the links and add some new ones. So my question is: How hard is this to do? Is this something I need to hire someone to do for me? Thanks in advance for any advice! Hello, I ran into this problem today in my Basic XHTML class, and it was enough to stump me and the instructor: if you want to put an unordered list in the middle of a page, but you want the list items to be left-aligned so the bullets are one on top of the other...how do you do it? I started with code something like <div align="center"> <ul type="disc"> <li>Wine</li> <li>Women</li> <li>Song</li> </ul> </div> This centers the list on the page, but it also centers each list item. I tried placing a <div align="left"> around the list items, individually and collectively, but depending on the positioning it either had no effect or it nullified the center attribute completely and gave me a left-aligned list on the left edge of the page. Attempts to change the style of the <li> tag, which I haven't done in months and was never all that good at, failed. I know I can do this in ten seconds by putting the list inside a one-cell table, and with much fiddling I could probably do it with a spacer GIF...but what's the 1.0 Strict way? I use HTML 4.01 transitional, with some style sheets. I'd like to put a frame around a picture on an inspirational website for purely ascetic reasons. I don't want to use a table for a frame like some folks do. It' s kind of tacky. Does anybody know what code I'd need to do this? Is there some kind of style sheet I could use? Hi everyone, I'm new here and new to html stuff. I really need to learn it to make my website. I've been messing around all day with the codes and so far all I got is this: <TABLE BORDER="0" cellpadding="0" CELLSPACING="0" bordercolor="#330000" width="100%"> <TR> <TD WIDTH="950" HEIGHT="17" BGCOLOR="#000000" VALIGN="top" align="left"> <font face="edwardian script itc" style="font-size: 65pt" color="#FFFFFF">George Gabrielle Couture </font></TD> </TR> </TABLE> <table border="0" width="20% align="right" bgcolor="FFFFFF"> <tr> <TD BGCOLOR="#000000"> <font face="pica10 bt" color="FFFFFF" size="3">Fall/Winter</font></td> </tr> <tr> <TD BGCOLOR="#000000"> <font face="pica10 bt" color="FFFFFF" size="3">Holiday</td> </tr> <tr> <TD BGCOLOR="#000000"> <font face="pica10 bt" color="FFFFFF" size="3">Resort</td> </tr> <tr> <TD BGCOLOR="#000000"> <font face="pica10 bt" color="FFFFFF" size="3">Baby</td> Now I need to add some pics to the white part of the page (left-hand side). Forgive me everyone, when you answer this please treat me like I'm a 5 year-old, LOL . I am soooo html challenged. I'm only a seamstress, and sewing clothes is all I know . Hello! I have a bunch of picture i wish to have on a internal webpage to go around the sides and bottom of the page, positioned around a slideshow in the center. I have managed to get some to go down the left, and i can get them some to go to the bottom but once there they sit on top of each other not side by side? how can i overcome this?? I have tried the 'float' but this was no luck. Also can you tell me how get the images to come down the far right hand side of the page Thanks I have inc my code.. Thanks After re-structuring the whole website, i got some problems with my pictures. As you see on theese 2 pics i can't get the pictures centered, even with the <center> tag! (images removed) before re-structuring i couldn't center the pictures neither, so it isn't because of the new structure. Regards Urnemanden Hi! I'm working on adapting a we-based system called OTRS (open ticket request system) for our offices here and I've just finished modifying all the headers and css and stuff for our needs. Now, I did it in Firefox and I'm brand spanking new to this game so when one of the header logos didn't appear in IE7, it took me about an hour to figure out maybe it was IE7 that was the problem, and it turns out it is... so would someone mind having a look at this below? It's very basic, but what's happening is that the picture 'HeaderCropped' isn't displaying, the border outlines don't even show, only that funny little graphic that appears when a picture is missing ( I don't know what it's called). Obviously I'd like to be able to see the picture in both FF and IE7, but will this take a major overhaul of this code? (It took me quite a while to do this little bit!) Thanking you in advance! -Emily _________________________________________________________ # include Copyright.dtl $Include{"Copyright"} # set some html variables #<dtl set $Env{"Box0"} = ">> "> #<dtl set $Env{"Box1"} = " <<"> # check refresh <dtl if ($Data{"Refresh"} ne "") { $Data{"MetaHttpEquiv"} = "<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="$Data{"Refresh"}">"; }> <html> <head> $Data{"MetaHttpEquiv"} <title>$Config{"ProductName"} $QData{"TitleArea"}</title> $Include{"customer-css"} </head> <a name="top"></a> <body> #<!-- start CI layout --> <table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td width="100%" class="header"><img style= width: 454px; height: 109px; "src="/otrs-web/images/Standard/HeaderCropped.jpg"> </td> <td width="100%" class="header" title="www.alliedpensions.com"><a href="http://www.alliedpensions.com"><img border="0" src="/otrs-web/images/Standard/APTLogo.jpg" width="150" height="100"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><hr align="left" width="100%" height="2"><!-- end CI layout --><!-- end header --></td></tr></table></body></html> I want to create this type of a navigation utility to scroll through large amounts of pictures 5 at a time.
