When you go to the site using Chrome, Safari or IE you will notice there is 4 pictures on the top and one in the bottom left column. Now when you go to the site using Firefox or Opera 3 out of 4 pictures on the top are missing, also picture in the left bottom column is missing. Same issue with the picture in the left bottom column on other pages. What might be a cause of that? Any ideas? When running it from my harddrive it works normally in all browsers. Thanks in advance Hey guys hoping you may be able to please help. I'm trying centre the website I'm developing, have actually done this OK. The problem occurred when I tidied up my html of the index page and previewed it in browsers. It worked fine in everyone (Chrome, Firefox and Safari) except for Internet Explorer. I have centred it using div tags and css. I also tried using an external css style sheet and putting the div tags in a wrapper- same result. I have attached the html source as a doc and txt file. Any help or advice with this problem would be greatly appreciated. p.s the style is called centred and on line 22 Hi There I'm new to this forum and thanking anyone who helps in advance. I have designed a website for my company which owns and operates bars and hotels in the North East of England. The site looks quite good, and I'm trying to finish it off. One problem I am stuck on is the drop down bar menu of bars and hotels. I want people to be able to choose the venue from the drop down list and then have it take them to the pubs website. However, at the moment it just links to an error page in the website. I designed it in frontpage 2003 and am only really familiar with this programme. I have tried editing the links etc but having no luck. Is anyone able to help? I recently finished a game website and while I was observing the website I noticed a game that was not working. I don't know how or why it is not working so I came here. I don't know if this is the place to post this problem so I guessed. Anyways here is the URLhttp://umgames.co.cc/evilnights.php Thanks in advance. I'm trying to design a website for my self and I have a problem. My default browser is Safari so I didn't notice the problem till now. I designed the site layout in photoshop and the site in dreamweaver and it works fine in IE and Safari but in Firefox the site layout gets split at the top of the page and you can see the background in a line. Now the layout has two CSS styles for content in the middle and sidebar on the left both have background color that matches the design #333 and #646464. These are noticeable in the split. The site is sv-photography.net Any one got any ideas on how to fix this? SebastjanV Hi, I've just finished creating the layout for my website. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me why my text does not fit in the boxes that I have created using layers while in Internet Explorer it seems to work fine. I'm freelancing graphic design work for now when I'm not busy. A client came to me with a proposal for a website for a Chores & Allowance calendar program for kids where kids get paid for each chore a parent enlists on an online calendar. Thered be a need for a login system and paid membership system. Does anyone know of a program that would meet this? I know its a farout question but any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot for your time. -Nick I wanted to create a form for my client so that she can update a page of her website periodically, i have the form all built, but i am not sure how to write the code to get it working. Does anyone have some suggestions on reading materials or examples that i can use? Can anyone guide me to some reference material on how to create a simple customer login that would allow the client to access private pages of a web site? Can I enable a user to load a .txt file into a textarea? I know the user can do this via cut and paste (from a local app), but loading the file from the user's disk would be better Thanks, JAS I am doing a site for someone, Every once in a while they want to add audio/video to a certain page on their site.. Whats an easy way of accomplishing this? The pictures, they can upload whenever, but Audio and video is another story.. Whats the best method of letting a NON webdesigner upload audio and video to a site? Thanks a lot guys... I appreciate it... I've got a website under construction at www.banffridgeestates.com. On the design plans page (www.banffridgeestates.com/design_plans.htm), I've got 9 thumbs for the user to click on and a PDF file opens in Adobe Reader. But just in case the user doesn't have Adobe Reader or some other PDF viewing application, is there a way for me to program the link so that it detects whether the user has such an application, and to open a JPEG if he doesn't have one? Hi everyone, my first post here! I'm trying to develop a website to display weather. Its really quite simple; One computer runs some weather software which gets its data from a weather station, the weather software creates .jpg images of the data it receives and ftp's them every 60 seconds to a webserver that just has a simple html page displaying all of the 6 images on one page again refreshing every 60 seconds. This has been running for some time but I have recently been asked to include data from another computer that monitors tidal height. This computer also ftp's its data every 60 seconds to the same webserver but in a csv .txt file. I can display this txt file directly on the site in a iframe but its really badly formatted. What's the best way of formatting the data client side? I thought maybe with javascript, but its something I have never used before. thanks in advance, Nick hi im designing a we site by php i have a html form that collect some information from client an it has some script for hide or visible text box when user check a checkbox but when client run my page see a popup menu allowed blocked content.... i saw some site do this withou running this popup how can i do it? thanks Hi How to add a website counter to my website. So that when ever a visitor visits the website I want the counter to increase say from 101 to 102 and then for a new visitor it should be 103 and then again for the next visitor 104 and so on..... I want to know the code. There are number of websites that are offering this but they put their advertisement which I don't want I have some links (in the header, the SUPPORTERS) to different websites, but when I click on them the address in the address bar does not change to the address of the website that I clicked. How do I make it show the address that I clicked on? Thanks. http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~fencing/ I am a total noob but volunteered to administrate the website, because there was no one else to do it. hello, i need a website for german customers, somethign like www.podmod.de because i would like to offer the same. So if anyone has an idea where to start, or even can offer me something i can buy, please do so. my email: verenamueller999@web.de thanks verena. Hi, I am trying to find a way in which a website that is linked on my homepage can be opened while keeping at least one form of my homepage open as well. e.g.: Google images :http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...en-us%26sa%3DG sorry for the massive link. Hope you get the idea. So what i want is to have a bar on top that is my homepage (like the google bar in the link), but the rest is the actual website that has been linked. I don't really care much about the url. It doesn't have to be my homepage url, it can be the actual website url. Google has been able to do that somehow, so it is possible. I would just like to know how and if it is hard to do. If someone knows how to do it, it would be great if you could give me a link to a tutorial, or explain it. thanks |
