HTML - Hi, Need Help Dividing Html Documents.
Hi, I'm a noob at HTML, and I've learned a lot, but I can't seem to get this right. I want to divide all my HTML documents into 3 sections, without frames. I want the middle to be 800px, and on its left and right 200px(separately). However, I can't seem to get it right, I want to divide it so that the code in each division doesn't affect what's in the middle9vaguely speaking of course). Any help is appreciated.

The specifications for HTML 4.01 at paragraph 13.5 provide the following simple example: <OBJECT data="embed_me.html"> Warning: embed_me.html could not be embedded. </OBJECT> (the Warning message displays in case the agent fails to load the embedded document) However I have not been able to make this feature work. If you open the master file with Internet Explorer 7, you obtain the Warning message, hence IE7 is not capable to load the embedded document. At the same time the bar saying that pop-ups have been blocked shows, but even allowing the pop-up nothing changes. I tried to add information, such as: <OBJECT data="embed_me.html" type="text/html"> ... with no result. Why is the tag OBJECT not working as expected? What have I done wrong? Thanks a lot. Okay. I am trying to make a website where it has the text in the middle of the screen but is limited by borders (look likes this). I am not sure if this is done by CSS or by HTML. I want them to count down from 1 - 5 then 6 - 10 and 11 - 15. In the picture I want to have one big bar running across saying BEST LINKS and under it the website links. People are making links directly to these documents, but as these documents are in a separate directory, they cannot find the original page which lists all these documents. Hi All, I am building a intranet site which is totally internal, the records I'm saving have physical paths to documents I want to link to, which can be anywhere on our network. These paths have to be physical. But I'm having a problem trying to get the link to work, an example link is below. <a target="_blank" href="m:\docs\conference.doc">m:\docs\conference.doc</a> Maybe it's not possible at all with HTML on it own I may need to get scripting involved. Any help appreciated I am trying to find a way for users to download up to date document file on a webpage. Many users click on the link to a document file and open rather than save the file to a specific location. In the future, the document file gets updated and if the user clicks on the link and open the document file, a browser brings up old document file that has been saved before in temporary files directory instead of opening up updated document. I know that I can tell users to save the document to a specific location on their machine, but I want to know if there is a way to avoid this issue using a script if there is any. As I have validated my page using w3c validator it asks to define class for each and every thing like <table class="xx"> .xx {width:40%;} This makes maintainablility easy but if I have to define 20 different widths I cant use class names just for these widths.. I just upgraded all my .HTML pages to .PHP . But now I noticed that when my pages pull up in the search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. They still show the old .HTML links?? When they click on the webpages from the search engines results you get error 404 page cannot be found. How can I update the search engines or add code to my page so the search engines will reflect the new .PHP pages. Also it's been over a good week since I've update to .PHP Thank you all in advanced!! Many thanks Hi everyone, I've been searching around the web trying to find out how I can send using Outlook a html and text email newsletter automatically. I am quite happy creating html only newsletters, and text ones for that matter, but I have been digging and believe that by using multi-part code I can send to both and the recipients email client "allows" whichever version to be displayed - does this sound right? I'm hoping to simply create the html with the relevent mime references and boundaries (dont know what they are but have seen them on enough Google'd pages to know that they mean something!) and then copy and paste into Outlook - the newsletter is only going out to a few people at a time. Any suggestions or advice would be very greatly appreciated. Regards Allan Hi, so I'm trying to make this e-mail newsletter. It's entirely images, tables and text. So no javascript, just plain stuff. I tried attaching it as a signiture file and I had trouble sending it. It also didn't come out right. I'm trying to avoid using a software. Its basically just a block of HTML I need to show up as the only content in an email. If you just put HTML into a email text field, it just shows the HTML code in the email as text.
