HTML - Uploading Messing Up Page
I use frontpage to edit my page (so I can view it before uploading it to the web)
It shows exactly the way I want it when I save it and view it on my HD but once I upload it to the server... it's the same... Then when I edit it again and upload the "update".... it's messed up. Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks Lace Similar TutorialsHi I have written a gallery where a user can upload a photograph. This uses a form to upload the photo, and insert data into a MySQL table. What I want to do, is instead of having to go through the submit button, have a button where the user can click, this will upload the image, create a thumbnail, display the thumbnail on the page - but the page is not refreshed........... Can this be done with AJAX? Bearing in mind, I have little/no experience with Javascript - but I'm willing to learn! If this can be done, and it's using AJAX, are there tutorials out there to which I could be directed? Many thanks S I decided to make a new homepage for my website. It is basically just a JPG. Which I imported in Dreamweaver and added AP DIV layout objects... It comes out really beautiful If I launch it locally using F12 in Dreamweaver. But it turns like this after I upload it to the server. (YOu can view HTML by clicking view source in your browser) I tried almost everything I can to fix it but it just won't. Can someone help? PLEASE? It's in the first stages, so bear with the lack of images, etc. however... If you go to http://dev.bkriegtech.net/web/06/ you will see that the content of the right nav bar is pushed way over for some reason. I looked at the code of the included page (http://dev.bkriegtech.net/web/06/home.php) and I have no tables or anything in there that would cause this to have extra room on the right to push the nav content over. What could be causing this? My Tables are messing up somehow on 2 pages. This is my site: http://the1337arcade.com The site should look like the home page or when you click a game, Notice how the table is seperated into 2 <td>'s. But on the search page and the category page http://the1337arcade.com/search.php?q=ant&page=1 and http://the1337arcade.com/browse.php?...trategy&page=1 Notice how the page is now different, The left TD basically took over the whole page and pushed the other TD down. I depend on help to have my arcade back to normal function ! Anyone have any idea why the thumbnail pictures are off when the page is viewed in IE but they're fine when shown on FireFox? I'm using slimbox/lightbox and can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. http://www.jnsitedesign.com/photocms...?gallery=./Art I really appreciate the help!! Good day. I'm actually trying to make a good site now (still humorous), and am having problems with the background of my right collum. http://web.vtc.edu/users/cjb06271/CI...nal/order.html Quote: <form method="post" action="mailto:cjb06271@vtc.edu"> <table style="border:1px solid black"> <tr> <td><fieldset/>The always favorite Locusts. </td> <td colspan="1"><fieldset/> <input type="checkbox" value="Locusts" name="Locusts"/> </td> </tr> </form> same kind of thing happening on register page. you can see how I wanted it on any of the other pages. Also on the navbar you can see the right collum background image was chopped in half. Not too worries about that but if an easy fix would be apreciated http://web.vtc.edu/users/cjb06271/CI.../real%20final/ my css is in there (as are links to images and all the other sites in navbar) css name is new1. I may also be halucinating but the text seems to change fonts between pages and I don't know why. Thank you very much for any help you may offer. Hey everyone, I have some problems with my website. Basically for some reason when you open my website in Internet Explorer, The tables are messed up, It's hard to explain but basically for some reason it has a massive amount of spaces before the actual text starts. However in firefox the website works perfectly. Here's a link so you can see for yourself what I mean: http://SpiritualSatanism.com Any idea what this could be and/or how to fix it? Thanks, Nightfoxx Hello, I am very new to HTML. With that said here is my issue. I want to post meta data within the head tags of my html. However, when i do this the table i created in the body of the code ceases to work. I created a very simple intro page. all that exists there is a logo of my bussiness then underneath a splash page embeded. When i enter the meta data the logo and splash area are off center. Currently I took the meta tags out of the html, but I really want to place them back. Ever heard of this happening before? Can you help? Thanks, Matt My page is www.skelniktoday.com if you want to take a look and view the source. Who knows maybe you just need a laugh at the level of novice my html is. I want to make an image upload like the one in facebook that you can choose multiple images to upload and it also shows the directories. I'm not sure what it's called and how to do it. Hopefully someone can help me Thanks Hello, I wasn't exactly sure which category to post this question in, but I am having problems uploading a completed website. All of the files have been uploaded to the "www" folder on the server. When I type in the web address on the computer I upload from it appears to be live and working. When I try to view the site on a second computer I get a "server not found" error. Is there something I am doing incorrectly? Thanks for any help you can offer! I m facing a serious problem in uploading my sites page. the problem is, whenever i upload a page that page show an error in uploading that file and the is " cannot put index.shtml. Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. ". i tried many times to re upload it but it didn't worked. I also tried to do it from file manager in cpanel but its also not working. i don't know what to do... please help me..... Hi, I'm just about to upload my website and was wondering how it works. I'm going to be using filezilla. What i'm not sure about is how do I define what page shows up as my home page. Do I need to put the web address inside the HTML code, or name the file before uploading. I was also unsure about what I need to write at the top of my HTML pages, I;ve copied and pasted an example form a webpage I have open at the moment: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> Can anyone explain what this means?? I hope this will make sense to someone Thanks in advance Dyfrig Hello everyone. I'm new to HTML and experimenting... I have a domain www.thomgreg.com linux hosted by godaddy. I've started going thru "Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML" and am in chapter 2. On my local computer the pages displayed fine but after uploading to the server the text displays but the images do not. I have all the images and html files in the same directory, a directory called "html" directly off of root. the img src element I'm using is: <img src="drinks.jpg"> and, again, drinks.jpg and index.html are in the same directory. The home page displays without the image though...!! Also if I try to show the drinks.jpg directly by using www.thomgreg.com/html/drinks.jpg I get a page cannot be found error. Any ideas...? Thanks...! Hi friends , I want to upload the contains of the text file on jsp or html page . Im trying to fix my layout for ebay and I don't really have anywhere else I can put it besides posting all the code here. Hey everyone, I'm the owner of a small business who had a website made recently. Unfortunately, I felt the style of the designer wasn't what I was looking for so we parted ways. So, basically I am left with a mostly done website, including code for a sliding bar of pictures (sorry for the non-technical phrases) for the online shop section of the site. My problem is I don't know how to upload pictures to the bar! Right now all it has is a "coming soon" picture. Can anyone help? URL is: http://outoftheblue.ca/newarrivalsOOTB.html Thanks! hi! Firstly I would like to state my first impression about this site. Judging the activity of members by the amount of posts I can see that this is the best place to discuss anything website-related. So I hope I enjoy my time here Now, onto my question. I have all my files stored on my computer (.htm + graphics + other junk), and have already purchased a domain. I was wondering how to upload these files onto my site, and get my site going. I understand that I need to purchase a hosting service. I tried that, and didn't understand what to do. I uploaded all my files with the uploader provided, including the index.htm files, and nothing happened. I was then sent to filezilla - some kind of FTP someting (I don't even know what FTP is), and I had no idea what to do with that software. help please? I am wanting to embed a swf file in my website. I have worked out how to do this, but I need to upload my flash file to a url somewhere else. I have read about wordpress being used for this, but I don't want to use Wordpress. Is there any other sites I can use. Note: the files need to be given a url that they can be viewed from. Thank you. Bethan |
