I've got a 'masthead' image at the top of my site, which has a colour gradient going from red to white. If I set the background colour for the element that its in to either red or white, it doesn't quite look right. What I'd really like is a different solid colour either side of the image. I was wondering: is there any way to set the background colour of one side of the image to red, and one side to white? Many thanks in advance. I'm fairly new to making websites, and I want to make a website with a full screen background image jpg, but I'd like it to be full screen in all resolutions. Is this posible? I want to use this image as a background http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/4...dexbackcu3.jpg and then add menus and text content. any tips? thanks! jdawest Hey guys, basically i'm not great with html and i've been wracking my brains trying to figure these out. (nothing has helped so far) Anyways, heres my site If you scroll to the bottom you can see the footer box, It's the same color as the posts. I want to change the footer box to white, but everything I change doesn't effect it. I'm also wondering how to create rounded corners on the main blog posts, as i believe this will make the layout smoother. yet i've not found any code that works! Any help would be appreciated a billion Hi I have a DIV that contains a php include on my page. The main page with the DIV has a black background, and the include page has a purple background. The problem is that the include's background is overriding the main page background, making it all purple. How do I make the background colors perform as they should? Thanks for your help Shaun im creatinh a box containing a text. The box must be wide enough to fill a text. menu.style.width = tekst.length - this functioin gives the number of letters in text. So if the text is "hello" then the width is 5 pixels. But i need the widith of pixels needed to fit the text in a box. How can i do that? Is there a simple way for me to change the colour of text that you put in a text box? I'm trying to display some VB code in my webpage. I can keep the code structure using the pre and code tags. Is there any way I keep the color displayed in the code editor (vbsedit, textpad, ultraedit ... etc) ? I know this is probably really basic stuff .. but i need different colours for the link, rollover and visited state. But i dont want them to be the same throughout the page, i want each to be specific set of colours. Just point me in the direction of where the answer is .. i dont mind reading up! Thanks. Hello. I've searched numerous times on Google for answers to this problem I'm having and I'm getting no help. I've posted here before with the same website but I have a different layout (or I'm making one) so I have a different problem. To view the website click here, although I don't have the new layout up on the web yet. I have a picture as the background and I have the semi-transparent tables, but the text is semi-transparent as well and I really don't like that. The code I have for the semi-transparent tables is: Code: table, tr, td { filter: alpha(opacity=75);filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=75); -moz-opacity:0.75; } So that's all fine and good, but I can't get the text to show up solid. Is there a way that I can have the semi-transparent tables and full opacity text? I'm extremely bad with CSS, so I don't know much what I'm doing here. Okay, there are probably a bunch of threads on this, but I do not know what to search for it. What I am looking for is for my website, an iPhone version of a site, to start at the topleft instead of having the little indent type thing. I did width="100%" but it just doesn't want to work. Here is my test page http://iphone.auditoriumcrew.webuda.com/test.php where you can see it has the spacing at the top, left, and right. Here is the actual site, or what will be the actual site: http://iphone.auditoriumcrew.webuda.com/ All help appreciated, Alex I'm a beginner in HTML. I would like to make a row with two cells, the first one being 200 pixels wide and the second cell stretching out to fill up the rest of the horizontal space... I thought that putting in width=100% in that <td> tag would do it but if I do that, that cell covers up my first cell (the 200 px one). How can I go about doing that? Thanks!! Hi Guys I would like to get the footer background on this site to stretch accross the full width of the browser, but as I have already applied a background image to the body then I'm not sure how to achieve this effect. At the moment I have a background image applied to the footer but I may take this out and just have a simple white strip which covers the full width. The site: http://horizonwebsites.co.uk/soccerwaveuk/ The CSS: http://horizonwebsites.co.uk/soccerwaveuk/screen.css This is an effect I've wanted to use for a while now on several projects so if any one has done this or knows of sites that use it I'd be really keen to learn how. Thanks, Kev |
