HTML - Seeking Code For Html Blog Text-end
Hello (I am new to these forums, hope this post will be satisfactory),
I have a question and would appreciate any help, here it is: I am building a website that has a blog (from google's blogger service) within one HTML frame. I'm looking for a way to program the site so that the blog-frame only displays a certain number of words / characters despite the amount of characters in the blog post, before it then interevenes with a "READ MORE" link which will then take the user to the full blog post. Does anybody know if this is possible and do they have any suggestions as to how I could go about this? Thanks, much appreciated. Similar TutorialsHey i recently opened a blogged and wanted to begin customizing it with shoutboxs , games, etc Blog is runned by Mac OSx , it allows u to post html as well, but 98% of the html codes i put in there doesnt work...the ones that do work , well they seem to have <table> inserted in them...and strangly one of my posting options is to insert a table, so when i click on that *insert table* i paste my html code(shoutbox) and click insert (for table) and all the codes seem to work fine and shoutbox looks great, until i cllick the <>(htmlm mod) everything seems to go back to where it was before i started testing with table (which is that it doesnt work), this is only if switch from normal to html and back after i insert html codes through table...but if i just paste the Html codes for the shoutbox into *HTML* section, it shows up as the link that i use to gernate these codes...this happens with every one of my html codes including the ones that do work for the blog and dont work for the blog....So im stuck with HTML codes that only show up when the *insert table dialog box pops up and i insert html from there to blog.(which cancels html codes in the end)..From the table with the successful HTML, if i click Save,HTML mode, or Preview, it just makes the codes void..I think that when iclick any of those commands, the blog messes with codes Does anyone know any great codes to bypass w/e the blog is doing to my codes or simulating the table forever with the codes? TY Friend said that blog has ScriptTags, and by using table i can bypass that...Unfortunatly ive tried inserting <table> and </table> around it...nothing works.. heres an example of one of the few that does work for the blog(had table tags when i copied it from generator): <div class="wiki_entry"> <div> <div> <div><br /></div> <table><tbody> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.website-hit-counters.com"><img src="http://www.website-hit-counters.com/cgi-bin/image.pl?URL=109386-8813" alt="www.website-hit-counters.com" /></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.website-hit-counters.com/search-engine-optimization.html" title="search engine optimization firm">This many People saw this</a></td> </tr></tbody> </table></div><br /></div></div> HEre is one that doesnt(after i placed tables around it myself) <div class="wiki_entry"> <div> <div> <div><br /></div> <table><tbody> <tr> <!-- Begin ShoutMix - http://www.shoutmix.com --> <iframe title="jimbaler" src="http://www.shoutmix.com/?jimbaler" width="100" height="130" frameborder="0" scrolling="auto"> <a href="http://www.shoutmix.com/?jimbaler">View shoutbox</a> </iframe> <br /><a href="http://www.shoutmix.com" title="Get your own free shoutbox chat widget at ShoutMix!">ShoutMix chat widget</a><br /> <!-- End ShoutMix --> </tr> </tbody> </table></div><br /></div></div> Our client, a prestigious NY company, is seeking a Senior Web Developer to lead front-end development. The page is an html document, I want users to be able to highlight and copy a piece of html code. I have tried putting it in a text box in a form, but I can't seem to do it without the code being read as REAL html. Thanks in advance Hugeknot Hello what is the HTML code for text wrapping, As whenever I put a html banner link to amazon, it puts it on the next line down And I would like it to appear at the side of text. So what is the html code for text wrapping? Thanks James I am trying to code my own blog. I assume id have to use XML. However, my question is how do i create the drop down box that would sort all my previous posts by cat? thanks I have a website where I want to make a drop down menu that will bring you to different pages. It is a very basic, sort of old-fashioned website that relies entirely on html. What I'm trying to do is make a drop-down menu that will be used as navigation for a section of a website and I want to have it in each internally linked page in that section, but I'm going to be adding more pages to it over time so I want to be able to put the drop-down menu code in a separate text file and then substitute it into the pages that I make that the options in the menu link to and then just edit the code in the text file when I add another page so that I don't have to go back and edit the code every single individual page whenever I add a new one among them. Basically all I'm asking is how I can put html code in a text file and then substitute that code into an html page by referring to the file. Thanks in advance for any help. Can someone please tell me where in my blog I paste this banner navigation code? I've tried everything and it's not working. Do I need to replace something with this code? Or just post it in there somewhere? Thanks so much. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <meta name="language" content="english"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Script-Type" content="text/javascript"> <title>navigation example</title> <style type="text/css"> #navigation { width:574px; height:87px; padding:200px 0 0 26px; margin:0; list-style-type:none; background-image:url(http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/7678/philblog.png); } #navigation li { float:left; margin-right:40px; } #navigation #nm { margin-right:0; } #navigation a { position:relative; display:block; height:45px; background-image:url(http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/7678/philblog.png); } #navigation span { position:absolute; height:45px; top:0; left:0; background-image:url(http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/7678/philblog.png); cursor:pointer; } #hello,#hello span { width:113px; background-position:-26px -200px; } #portfolio,#portfolio span { width:202px; background-position:-179px -200px; } #contact,#contact span { width:155px; background-position:-421px -200px; } </style> </head> <body> <ul id="navigation"> <li><a id="hello" href="hello.html">HELLO<span></span></a></li> <li><a id="portfolio" href="portfolio.html">PORTFOLIO<span></span></a></li> <li id="nm"><a id="contact" href="contact.html">CONTACT<span></span></a></li> </ul> </body> </html> Hi . Can someone please just tell me how to publish the html to my blog?? Thanks so much. Hi, EDIT: Problem fiixed. I'm using a BlogSpot template and have made some alterations to it, but I can't figure out how to change the main background. It's currently black. I'm thinking a nice chocolate brown color would better contrast my post background. What should look for in the html codes? Thanks in advance for any ideas. I started up a blog recently and used an already made up template. I've altered it a bit to my tastes (still kept all previous credit obviously) but i'm having a hard time putting in a right sidebar in the HTML code. There's already a left sidebar and the main content body but i'm wanting to add a right sidebar to this to balance out the layout. I've tried copying the same html code of the left and altering it to make it right but it doesn't seem to work. If theres anyone that can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. If anyone wants to see the blog layout and/or html code as present then please do ask. thanks in advance! I was posting in a forum on another site, the person helping me got swamped with work and I need this done tonight.. He helped me put links on different parts of my banner, and then he sent me the attachment (that I attached below). I opened it in Adobe Contribute CS4 but I can't figure out how to publish it to get the changes he made onto my blog.. I tried just copying the html and putting it into my blog myself but I'm a nub and that's not working either. Please help! I'm willing to pay, donate to your site/blog, whatever to get this done today! Thanks so much in advance!!
