HTML - .xml Query
Hi all,
I am new to html coding, so I am not sure how to ask my question or if this is the right sub-forum. But I will try to explain what I want to achieve. I want to setup a config.xml file such that when access it from any web browser by http://XX.XX.XX.XX/config.xml. I would get the xml file open in that browser. Has anyone tried such a thing ? What I'm trying to create is a form that uses the GET input data as part of a predetermined url, so it would take you to "http://desiredsite.com/[INPUT TEXT]". I don't need the site to change at any point, just the specific directory. I would prefer to approach this in plain old html but I guess a script may be necessary. Hi there, I have just designed my holding page for my website its designed at 750px wide, i have an image in here saying something like, website coming soon. so im left with white borders and the question that i have is... How can i change the borders from white to black should i change the dimensions of the picture to add make it all black or can i just code the borders black? If you need anymore info just ask. A prospect comes along views my sales letter and decides to buy my book. On clicking the pay pal link they go through the paypal process and buy the book then they are taken to my thankyou page to download the book. All well and good my query is this. Is their any coding or system on the market that you are aware of whereby the link for downloading the book cannot be passed on to anyone who has not paid money to download the book, or indeed returning the book for a refund and later returning to the link and downloading the book again without payment? I know I can encrypt the page and the book to prevent them from being copied but is there a way of preventing the link from being passed around to all and sundry robbing me of earnings. You see, I'm a student, and I need some study material. Hello, Don't know if this is in the right place. I've created a gallery using Jquery:http://www.perisandcorr.com/sue/painting.html. When you click on one of the images the gallery pops up fine but it is seeing too many images - 17 instead of 16??? Any ideas why this might be happening. I have a class one every thumbnail on the right hand side to make them sit in the right place. Could this be causing the problem. Thanks for any help. Just a quick question really... Have you ever visited a website, clicked a link within the site, and noticed after doing so that only a portion of the page has changed? The diagram attached will hopefully help explain I am trying to achieve. i basically want a page consisting of two columns. The left column (nav) will be my navigation panel and contain links that when clicked by the user, the content beside it in the 'right' column (content) changes. I have experimented with frames and floating frames (iframes) and it does work, yet I understand that frames are not supported by all browsers? this worries me! Can this be achieved through css? I'm trying to build a website in frames and am currently just putting together some test stuff for it. I'm trying to build a background, but when I place the separate parts of the overal image, there is spacing between the frames in places I don't want it; for example, the image in the left frame is significantly below the top frame, and there is a gap between it and the center frame. How can I fix this? I have frameborders set to 0, 0 framespacing, 0 margin width and height, and no borders present. Any help would be appreciated. There are 2 images below, to help explain what I mean. The first is how the top and left frames look, and the second is how the overall thing should appear. I want to put simple text message/alert up top my page simple text file/db with A,B,C,D,E,F So on refresh B will show up and if i hit it again C will show up and so on. Just rotating text on every visit by anyone or on refresh by a single user I've been making a website for a car enthusiast and I need to be able to show different pictures of cars when the thumbnail is clicked. I'm using layers to to this. When I click on a thumbnail it shows the car and hides what was previously there. The problem I have is that when I add a new thumbnail, I have to go through all the other thumbs and set them to hide it onClick. This is getting really manotinous now that I have over 30 thumbs. I looked at the Dramweaver help file and it does state that : (You can change the visibility of multiple layers with a single behavior.) But it doesnt actually tell you how!! Anybody help me out?? I'd like to add some sort of user-friendly mechanism for sorting the table by some of the columns, I've tried some javascript approaches I've found on the internet, but haven't had much luck implementing it in a way I'd like. Thanks I am using a form to submit a name and password for log on. The form is using password type fields. However, once the form is submitted the results are showing in the url query string of the return page. How do I prevent this? I have looked at this forum and several others and cannot find an answer to this problem. My pages for this site are all .html. If I have a url of mysite.com/ResultsGeneral.html?kwds=Frisco+Texas I would like to display Frisco Texas several places on the web page. I have tried several solutions and get close with <!--#echo var="QUERY_STRING_UNESCAPED" --> but this gives me a result of kwds=Frisco Texas. I want the display to read Frisco Texas without the kwds=. At some point I am going to change this site over to .php or maybe .asp but there are many pages and for now I need to stay with html. Bob. hi all, i have just written a book and am putting it online. i have some groovy buttons but want them to change when hovered over and also depress or change when clicked. can one of you experts give me the code for this pretty please. we could take it that: A.jpg = normal button B.jpg = when hovered (mouse over i think in your expert world) C.jpg = when clicked also i would like to know where and how the code looks to 'download XY.PDF' please help us on planet noobian, we are at a loss. |
