HTML - Trouble Publishing My Site...please Help!
I have a new hosting plan and built my website... i am having trouble viewing my site on the browser?
In CPANEL...I uploaded the index.html file into the public_html folder and uploaded the images in the images folder on the web server. Problems a I can only view the website on my PC and not others... AND.. I can only view my website when I DONT type in "www." I can see MMINDICATOR.com (on my PC) but I cannot see WWW.mmindicator.com Someone help. Similar TutorialsI am a newbie when it comes to website design. I initially created a website using a website creater and template provided to me by the hosting company. I then hired a programmer who added onto and made my initial page look better. I now need to be able to edit the static pages so I can correct text, links, etc. I have Microsoft Expression Web 2.0. My programmer instructed me to go into Computer and type in fttp://mysite.com. I did and I copied the .html files onto my computer. I now have the files open in Expression Web but I don't know what to do once I change the text. When I Browser Preview them it's plain text with a white background. Even when I hit Publish it says it published but I don't see the change on my site. What am I doing wrong? Someone from here helped fixed my banner for blogger and they included this attachment in the thread. I opened it in Contribute CS4 but it won't let me publish it. I can't figure out how to get it into my blog. Can someone please hold my newbie hand through this and help?? I needed this done yesterday :-/ Thanks in advance!!! Newbie -- using KompoZer to prepare text & image pages for eBookGold publishing software. 1. No problem preparing pages. Copy and paste from Word doc. Clean up code as necessary. Simple formatting - no bells & whistles. Page width set at 580 pixels. 2. Each page viewed in IE7 is consistent with flush left margin and right margin consistent with 580 pixel width. Each page is tested for printing on 8.5x11 paper so pages can be numbered. 3. File is uploaded to eBook publishing software with default page view of 640x480. Software includes eBook viewer for computer use. Book generates successfully. 4. PROBLEM IS WITH VIEWING PAGES IN THE SOFTWARE READER. Some are the same as IE7. Others spread from edge to edge of the computer screen which, in some cases, affects the image and text placement. ???? Why is there a difference between IE7 and software publisher view of same page? Is there HTML code that can fix the problem? If yes, what is it and how do I do it? specifics would be appreciated. My employer and I are learning as we go -- any help is gratefully appreciated. I am wondering if it is possible to create an INDEX.HTML to redirect to another website? I would like it to display the redirected site, but if possible keep to the original address.. e.g. A site named www.mysite.com, with an INDEX.HTML to redirect to www.othersite.com, which displays OTHERSITE with www.mysite.com in the address bar. Hope I explained ok, any responce would be much appricated! Thanks! Basically, I am making a website for someone but I am having a bit of DIV trouble. The part I am having trouble with is the content box. I have a content box that I need to be fixed (width) and it needs to stretch vertically when there is content on the page that will overfill the original page. There is then a div under this content which is a footer type image. This needs to move down when the content fills the above box.. I can't get this too work, all it does is strech horizontally, and when I stretch it vertically it just shows up blank... Any ideas? I am currently working on a website for my fraternity and am using geocities as a temp service to get my site correct before I get a .org name. For some reason Internet Explorer won't show anything, but when you use Mozilla it shows up just fine. I checked to see if it was just geocities that was messed up, but it did the same thing with cjb.net, so I'm stumped. The strangest part is that I've compared the source of each version and they are identical. This only happens in Firefox. I am currently working on a site and I can't figure out this IFRAME for the life of me. The initial news page works (yes, it is named new.htm) I got the links to work with mouseover as I wanted, but if I click any of the links the page will load, but the frame for the site doesn't come along with the page. Like I said, the site works perfectly and looks like I want it to on the initial load. Okay, as you can see from my screenshot, my problem is that the two images in the bottom cells are not at the very bottom, i am not sure how i align them so that they are. Hi, I am putting together a quick site, I don't normally use iframes but wanted to use it for a forum so I could imbed it into my theme. Thanks, Nick I'm having trouble getting the same look for my site in both Firefox and IE. Currently, the site looks great in Firefox. It looks just as I would like it. The nav links are all lined up on the left, and the login area is nice. However, when I view it in IE, things are different. The nav links all seem to be centered somehow, causing them to not line up very well. The login area is not as tidy either - the text input boxes are different sizes, even though they are both marked to hold 10 characters. I had two problems initially, and one has been fixed very easily. Thank you. However, the solution to the other still eludes me. Below the pic is the bold text, "Home". Below that text is a thin divider line and more text that reads, "Building organizations that build lives.". Basically all I am trying to do is move the text, Home to the left of the pic and enlarge it so as to act as a title for the page. (This would below the blue header banner in the large white blank area) Everything I seem to do either puts the text just below or just above the pic. What am I doing wrong? I Thank you for any help you might be able to provide. Hello! I'm having a lot of trouble here. I have a form on my website that is linked to my 1shoppingcart account. Unfortunately, the feild for their personalized message is only a single line because it uses the <input> tag instead of the <textarea> tag. But when I use the text area tag instead, I get something that is completely wrong. I'm assuming that it has to do with all of the other 1shoppingcart code that is jumbled in there. Thanks for your input. I'm running into IE 7 and earlier problems that I just can't seem to solve even though I have applied the suggested Adobe fixes and some others found on-line. The site can be found at: http://www.infusiongraphics.com/UCOg...ite/index.html and css at http://www.infusiongraphics.com/UCOg...erontology.css . For some reason, probably something easy that I'm overlooking, the fixes don't want to work. The bug is "Extra Whitespace in List Link Bug". The problem is occurring in the two drop down menus in the top navigation. I also noticed some extra space at the top, above the content and the top of the browser window. These are only visible in IE 7 or lower. Can anyone help? |
