HTML - Text Links Are Displaying Vertically
When I place links on my bands myspace page the link text displays on the page vertically instead of horizontally on some computers. It displayed correctly (Horizontally) on the PC I created it on, but when i view it on other PCs the text was vertical.
Here is the page. It's the white text near the top. Any ideas? div{vertical-align: -50%} thats what i came up with but still no joy... http://goldenworldgoods.awardspace.com/ Hello again, I did this site in Dreamweaver, looked fine in my dreamweaver editor, uploaded it and voila everything goes nuts. List of Problems: The Links are not positioned properly, not big enough plus the drop downs to the bottom and not to the right. That was properly my fault since I just copied a suckerfish method... But can someone help with this. If you study the News Header in the CSS, it says it has a background image, how ever it doesn't show when I uploaded it. I know the url and the pic is correct cause it worked in Dreamweaver... The background for "welcome" is all the way up there which isn't supposed to happen, it supposed to be right on top of the Hello text but that isn't happening either. The hello and welcome are supposed to be aligned to the left of the right header. Thats about it, please can someone help me. I've changed the format of this like 3 times just to get it correctly done, but nothings working. Thank you And don't worry I got it all validated and what not Hey, well i know alot of people put myspace questions here, and not to be another one of those myspaces i have a question... my myspace url is myspace.com/cherylishot haha dont ask. Hey there, I have some text in a table that i want to vertically align center, however nothing i try with html or css seems to work. If anyone has any ideas please let me know (html, css, or php i don't mind) Regards NightFox How do I vertically move all of the text (ie Days:Hour:Min:Sec) in the 2nd row of the column that says "Test" to the top of the box? How do I vertically move all of the text (ie Days:Hour:Min:Sec) in the 2nd row of the column that says "Best Time since 2005" to the middle of the box? Thank you. <table border="1"> <tr> <th> </th> <th>Test</th> <th style="color:green">Best Time Since 2005</th> </tr> <tr> <th>Comp X</th> <th> <div id="cpcontainer"> <table><tr class='text' align='center'><td>Days :</td><td> Hour :</td><td>Min :</td><td>Sec</td> </tr><tr class=''text'' align=''center'' style='color:green'> <td>11 :</td><td> 5 :</td><td>0 :</td><td>0</td> </tr></table> </div> </th> <th> <div id="cpcontainer1"> <table><tr class='text' align='center'><td>Days :</td><td> Hour :</td><td>Min :</td><td>Sec</td> </tr><tr class=''text'' align=''center'' style='color:green'> <td>11 :</td><td> 5 :</td><td>0 :</td><td>0</td> </tr></table> </div> </th> </tr> </table> Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right area. This is my first time posting here. I currently have my main pages listed at the top of my site as graphics (see fussybaby.ca). I would like to potentially remove these graphics and use text links instead - I had the graphics designed for me, so I can't just go in and make new ones, however I'd like to change/rearrange the links and add some new ones. So my question is: How hard is this to do? Is this something I need to hire someone to do for me? Thanks in advance for any advice! Can someone take a look at this page: http://www.robotsandcomputers.com/ro...wcomplaint.htm in IE and tell me why the text isn't showing up? It shows up just fine in Chrome and Firefox. Thanks... Ok, so I've made a site for my Dad's business but one thing is really starting to **** me off, when I rollover text hyperlinks I can put my mouse between the text like if there's a "n" i can put my mouse like inside the n and it won't go to the hover and underline properly, it only underlines once I've put my mouse on the actual text, and it just doesn't make any sense... (www.garlandsails.co.uk) go to the narrowboats page and if you rollover the links on that page you'll see what I mean, any help is appreciated, Thanks, Jack Hi I have a Flash and HTML version of my friends site at www.backlash.net.au On the main page, I have an ABOUT and NEWS section, that gets it's text from external .txt files. Problem is, the text gets formatted without line breaks in the HTML version, but fine in Flash. I was wondering if there is a better way to import the text, whilst only having one external source for each section, and still keeping the process simple (my friend isn't too computer savvy)? I thought of using a php include, and having my friend just enter the text in a simple HTML editor. I can set that up for HTML, but am unsure how to import the PHP page into Flash. Any ideas on the best way to tackle the problem? Thanks for your time and info. Shaun I would appreciate anyone's help in determining why my text is not going all the way to the right side of the "maintext" container. You can view the problematic webpage at: http://www.cornerstonecontractingcom...emp/about.html The associated CSS can be viewed at: http://www.cornerstonecontractingcompany.com/temp/default.css[*/code] tags. Thanks. Hey all, Im trying to put a html link in a html textbox, yet its not working, the code is not active, it just shows what ive typed. One of these frames contains some text and when I click this text, I want it to open a new web page in each frame. As far as I can tell, this means giving two links with two different targets to the same text and I've tried wrapping the text with two <a> tags, but to no avail. My current pages look something like this: Quote: This is the HTML code for my frames page: <html> <frameset cols="42%,*"> <frame name="table" src="table.html"> <frame name="image" src="image.html"> </frameset> </html> Quote: This is the relevant code in table.html, the page that contains the text which has to open a link in each frame: <a target="table" href="1.html"><a target="image" href="Images/project_Page_01.jpg">This is supposed to open both links</a></a> I've tried with having only one or both closing </a> tags and neither of them work. What happens is only the first link, 1.html, opens in the "table" frame. The second link is completely ignored. I might be doing this completely wrong but I'd appreciate any help or pointers as to what I should do to fix this. Thanks! Is there a way to randomly display text in an element? Im wanting to do somewhat of a "Did you know?" section on my site with random facts about our particular industry. Any help would be awesome! Thanks in advance! Scott Hey all, I'm having a problem with html input text fields. I'm trying to display a name in it but it only shows the first part of that name. Here is the part of the code I'm using for one of those : Code: <label>Name <span class="small">Name sent</span> </label> <input type="text" name="name" id="name" value=<?php echo $_POST["name"]; ?> /> If, as example, the name I'm getting from $_POST is : Alexander Johnson, there will only be Alexander in the text field. Note that if I create a really small function like this : Code: $name = $_POST["name"]; echo $name; Then the output will be Alexander Johnson instead of simply Alexander. Anyone knows what I'm doing wrong? (I'm using the labels and span class with css, but I don't think this is the problem. Hi all im really new to html. I guess this question is really basic to the expert html ers but just need a bit of help. I want to add some text say i got a <p> tag and want to write just a sentance such as .. <p>I am learning html, it uses tags like this <a,b> which can load images etc. </p> of course a,b isnt a tag, but if i load this basic text in a web browser it would ignore the <a,b> and come up as validation error in the validator. So pretty much is there a way around of displaying <any letters or words> without the browser thinking its some sort of tag? thanks for the help! I just need a basic code for this. For what I presume is basic anyway. On MySpace, I'll insert links, and MySpace will automatically make it a hyperlink, but won't allow you to visit certain links that you click on. How do you prevent it from being a link and so that it's just text? I thought <nohtml> worked, but apparently it doesn't exist. Would help me out loads, thanks, Sam/. I know this is probably really basic stuff .. but i need different colours for the link, rollover and visited state. But i dont want them to be the same throughout the page, i want each to be specific set of colours. Just point me in the direction of where the answer is .. i dont mind reading up! Thanks. Hi there Anyone know how to force a long piece of link text to wrap on to the next line. Only seems to be a problem in FireFox. Here is the offending page: http://packlife.co.uk/news.asp By the way, the content is generated by the client via content management, otherwise I would stick in a <br />. Thanks, Kev |
