HTML - Retaining All White Spaces In List Box's Option Text
HI,
The following code HTML Code: <SELECT NAME="TEST"> <OPTION>TEST TEST</OPTION> </SELECT> renders an option with 'TEST TEST'. Even though there are more than 1 white spaces, only single white space is given. How can I over ride this default behavior? Thanks in advance, Chandu. Similar TutorialsI have a problem with this website I created for a client. In Safari, the page displays completely correctly. However, when launched in Opera, a little white space appears between the left pane of the swf movie. When launched in Firefox, large white space breaks appear. I'm a bit new to these to please bear with me for a second. I hope I am asking this question in the right place. I have a client that want's me to create some emailable stationary that they can in turn send to all their clients. I'm working on a MAC Leopard using Safari and Firefox. The cool thing about Safari is that you can take any webpage and turn it into emailable stationary by going File>email contents of webpage. It will copy images, formatting CSS and I think embedded Java Scripts. So I thought Great. I'll create a simple webpage, turn it into stationary... 30 minutes and I should be done. 3 days later I'm still working on this project and I'm stuck. The issue it the. I have created a webpage. If I type text into the Textarea and do something like... create new webpage (to create a new webpage from the current address) the text will not copy into the new document. Does that make sense? So the text getting entered into the textarea where is that in my html code? I've viewed the source code and cannot find it. Is it being entered into cache or something? I do not know enough about this (obviously) and am really looking for some help. Anyone that could give a helping hand I'd really appreciate it. when the user clicks on one of these, it refreshes the page and updates a variable somewhere bsaed on the value. However when it refreshes the value showing is always Year 1. I want it to show the option they have just clicked. Anyone know the code that allows you to choose which one shows up? I can then use php to script which one is selected. TIA How do I get the selected item from a select option list? I dont need the value I need the text associated with the value. In fact the only way to not have a BREAK between the last list item and the string "Stuff" is to remove the WIDTH specificaton from the UL tag altogether, but then the string "Stuff" cannot be positioned a given distance to the right from the last list item--it just goes the default distance. So how can text trailing a horizontal list be positioned a specific distance to the right of the horizontal list on the same line? Thanks very much for any help you can provide. Basically I'm trying to figure out the best method to have the word "Step" precede the number in an ordered list, so that <ol> <li>first line of text</li> <li>next line of text</li> <li>last line of text</li> </ol> would return Step 1. first line of text Step 2. next line of text Step 3. last line of text I know how to do this using background images with CSS, but that isn't ideal because any formatting changes to the text would require making a new gif or jpg for the word "step." I write my websites in HTML code but recently I seem to have created an anomaly that I cannot get to the bottom of. According to the coding I have, there shouldn't be any such space but I can see no reason for it and cannot find a way to reduce it. Can anyone help a poor elderly novice, please?
