HTML - Html - Folder Link Password
At present i am creating a knowledge base at work and have an admin access link that goes to a folder on a server.
What i want is client or server side html to request a password when this link is clicked and if the password is not correct then a message box shows that says the password is incorrect. Can anyone help? Similar TutorialsI have a PHP application that our company uses for basically everything. Now I'm needing to add hyperlinks to folders on the shared drive on the server, since this is now where everyone will be storing the files they work on. The map drive is on the same server as the website but so far I have been unable to figure out the syntax for the hyperlink in order to be able to open the folder contents. Any ideas on how I could do this? Ive got a url address connecting to a shared offline drive, for some reason it doesnt work when i put it into a link, although when i paste the address into a browser it works fine. The link is 'Access Supply Management Drive' When i click on the link, the link removes the 'file://' and goes to 'atlefs0027/dept$/Supply_Management/01 Bids JTB & WB & BB'. Which ofcourse doesnt work. How do i keep the 'file' part of the link? Hi, I am building the download centre of http://www.i-conica.net I have a directory structure similar to the image in this thread. http://forum.i-conica.net/cgi-bin/fo...?m-1207092405/ The bottom image, my plan is to have the download page, with continually updated information on the new versions of software, put the software files in a separate folder and link to the folder, i thought if there were only one file in there ending .exe it would download it? It doesn't it just displays the directory. I wanted to be able to just throw the files in their own folder and not have to worry about changing links to the file. because the folder would remain the same. Is this possible? Thanks. I apoligise for what may seem a basic question but I have built a very large website in HTML 4.0, which runs fine in both IE7 and Firefox 3. Out of habit, I put the first letter of each name - folder, file, and image, in upper case. I have been told, however, that I shouldn't have done that as it could cause problems with some browsers. As there really is a very large number of folders, files, and images that I would have to change, and because the website works fine with IE7 and Firefox, I thought I'd ask what forum members know (or think). I've looked in my book on HTML and searched the Internet but have not managed to find the answer anywhere. TIA Tyger yes i was wondering if there is a way that i could make my program when the new option is selected from the drop down menu automatically make a new folder in a certain folder on my computer. is there any way to do that. Hi, I'm a beginner, so I realize that my question will be silly - sorry for that. I'm just doing a tutorial on html/css. I created a simple website, with stylesheet and image. Everthing was hunky dory as long as files were sitting on the desktop. When I moved them to appropriate folders (I created "html", "css" and "img" folders on desktop), changed the paths from /style.css to css/style.css and from imgname.jpg to img/imgname.jpg, the site completely ignores styles and image. Then once I move it back to the desktop it stats reading it correctly. It's weird for me and I can't find the reason. I checked all paths million times and there is no error there. Whole operation should be super obvious, yet I can't resolve it. I'd appreciate your help. I am making a website in Dreamweaver 8. I'm having trouble doing something, and I don't even know if it is possible. I made a page using CSS and DIV tags to define each pane. Now the center (main) pane will show whatever page you want to display (ie. Home, Media, Contact, etc.). I made each page as a separate HTML file (ie. Home.html, Contact.html, Media.html, etc.), is there a way to link each of these pages to the main pane (div tag) so I can keep all other panes unchanged (menus, banner, etc.) and just display the content in the mentioned center pane? Thanks! I need help with HTML problem that i am having. I am using Dreamweaver to design a web site. I have created a music link Al-Fatiha In Browser when I click this link it opens window Media player and starts to play the mp3 file but my main web page is replaced with blank page and i can not understand why the main page is replaced with blank page. Your help in this is very much appreciated. Thanks Ok so I am tryin to make a link to where a person can download a file from my website. Not quite sure on how to do this. Any answers? Hi there, I have a form where people submit information to a site through a form; some people reference outside websites, but the links for them aren't clickable (no <a href... tag), just text so people would have to copy and paste it to use it. Is it possible to somehow check a submission for links and then add in the tags if there are any? (without having to manually do it each time). Thanks for any help in advance! |
