HTML - Horizontal Repeated Background Image Without Css

Normally in a style sheet I would use "background-repeat: repeat-x" but I was wondering if it is possible to do without CSS? Similar TutorialsHello Everyone. The problem I am having and always wanted to know the correct way is . When adding text within a table with a background image and if the text excedes the background image thus increasing the height of the table, the background image repeats. What I want to do is have a solid color repeat at the bottom of the image so the table does not break the image, I want the image not to Repeat but to take on that solid color and repeat that color through the bottom of the Table so I can add as much text as I need. Currently it has a horizontal scroll bar for 1024px users. The footer image is actually the body { } background, aligned to the bottom center. Is it possible to put a smaller background image on top (like in layers) of my old background image? I have a background image, but I want to put a smaller image on top of that one, but for it to be treated also as background image. This image is a black vertical rectangle, but is faded on the edges to give a transparency, so its a .png. So ultimately what I am trying to do is put this black rectanlge on top of my original background image and with the transparency on the edges of this image, be able to see my original background image. How can I do so? Also what I was thinking was that this faded background would be scaled to fit different screen sizes, so do "width: 75%"? Just so that it ALWAYS stays at 75% no matter what screen size it is viewed on. Is this the right approach towards getting this result? In my website, the navigation bar and logo are repeated at the top of every page. However, if I were to make a change to the navbar, I would have to implement that change on every page (50+). Is there a way I can change the code in one place, and have it change on every page? Thanks! Any help is highly appreciated..thank you. I have three images which I want horizontal on the bottom of my page. One aligned left, one aligned right, and one aligned center. I am having issues with aligning the center image, it is always just placing itself to the right of the aligned left image and not on the center of the page. If anyone could help me out with the code for an image centered between two others that would be great. I'm currently coding a website (my first, clearly) that will ultimately have a large number of pages. I understand the value of writing semantic code and pairing it with an external style sheet to make changes in design quick and easy across a website. My question is, how do you code common elements across the website (ie headers, navigation bars, footers, etc) so that making a change only once (such as adding a tab to the navigation bar) will change it across the site, without having to change the code on each individual page? I understand that you can do this with php, but it doesn't seem to be the common solution. Is there another way to accomplish this without php? Thanks in advance everybody! Hi. I have a webpage with 3 frames. A top frame with the title, a bottom frame with the navbar and a frame in the middle for displaying content. I have an image that I would like to have centered in the main content frame. I can get it centered horizontally no problem but I cannot figure out how to center the image vertically in the frame. You can take a look at the page on my website at http://www.austinbooth.com/. Currently I have it horizontally centered and I just moved the image down one line from the top of the frame. It looks ok on my 15.4" laptop screen but on larger displays the image is too far to the top of the frame. Therefore I would like to center the image vertically as well. I need the same effect (using any method) that has those three boxes centred on the page. Or in other words, the background image as an image map. - this I'm having trouble with, because you have to designate the picture as a set # of pixels in dimension to make an image map right? and if I do that to my background image, then it may display too big or too small depending on the person's screen resolution right? So does anyone know how I can have clickable regions on my fixed background image without the image being too big for low resolutions or too small for high resolutions? I'm not too experienced in HTML and I'm having a problem with displaying a background image on this site I'm building. I know this probably isn't the best way to be doing what I'm trying to do, but I'm using a Frameset with 3 columns. The left and right I just want to display the background image and the main to be another frameset containing the main website content. It looks perfectly fine in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer the background images in leftMargin and rightMargin don't show; it's just blank.
