HTML - Remote/local View
Hi,
I have access to managing a site using Dreamweaver. I need to update a few images and pdf files into a folder located inside the remote view, to be uploaded to the Internet. I can delete the old files from that folder located in the remote view; Can you please explain how do I get the new files inside the remote view so that I can upload them online. I dont have the folders on my deskstop. There is a local view though, but I cannot locate the folder that needs to be updated. Please advise. Thank you Similar TutorialsHello Folks, I'm not too sure which forum I should post this in, but hopefully this is the right one. I have created a horzontal Navigation bar using a repeating tile for the bottom of my page, which views fine on my hard drive. See screenshot attached. However, when I upload the page, the tile stops displaying and only the solid background shows. http://www.magicalwonders.com/Test2/Index.html I can't work out what is going wrong. I've tried renaming the file, deleting from the webspace and re-uploading, but it still refuses to display when uploaded. The other repeating tiles work fine, so I have no idea what's going on. Can anyone spot what may be the problem and save my sanity? Thanks, Myles I want to load a local html file in an IFrame. The main page is loaded from a remote site (http://www.mysite.com). How can I do that if I don't have a web server installed on the local machine? Is there any workaround? Thank you! Hello everyone! I am seeking some help for modifying a site remotey/through another site. Basically I have the site completed but there are a few pages that will have constant information changing week to week and I'm only being hired to put the page up initially and there will be virtually no support beyond the finished product. I need two text boxes with vertical scrolling text with information about upcoming events on each side of the website plus i need a dynamic table where they can remove and add new employee's. The people submitting the information will have NO experience with HTML at all. So a website where they could log in and have a few text boxes that they could edit/modify would be perfect. So,I would like a website where they would submit the information and after sending it, it would send the information and fill in the areas the need to be filled in automatically. (News, Updates, Information, Employee Updates, etc.) I'm sure there are some widget that I can implement easily but I just don't know where to look. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Very similar to whats displayed here. http://www.news-scroller.com/html-scrolling-text.html Thanks ahead of time, Lucid. Hi, I'm new here. Nice to meet all of you, and thank you for bearing with me. I found a free flash panorama viewer, pan0, that I am using to view my own panoramas. The code looks like this (please ignore the emoticon, it came up because a colon and capital D are next to each other in the code): My problem is that I want to use this on blogger, but can't store sample_full.jpg locally on Google. I tried substituting https://path/to/where/my/image/is/stored/on/picasa for sample_full.jpg, but it doesn't work. Is there a way to get this to work on blogger? I see that there are commercial programs that create standalone flash panoramas, but I am not that heavily into it to spend the money. I'd like to create a standalone flash application on my own, if that's possible, or find a workaround. I'm a Linux user, if that matters. Thanks for your help. Hi I am building a website with a great number of very similar webpages which all share a common link list running down one side of the page containing 500 links. though this list will only start with one link it will grow over time. updating this list will become increasingly difficult as it grows due to the vast number of pages it will be on. my question is can i create this list in a single location, like in a text or second htm file and request on each of the 500 pages to reference this single location when the page loads. the list links are a standard web link, as such, here followed by the many ghost buttons whioch will over time become real links 001:
002:
003:
004:
005:
006:
007:
008:
009:
and so on... so what i expect i need is the code to draw the list from the single source and place this info on each of the 500 pages. Thanks for your time =) I have a thumb drive that have portable apps on it. I am trying to make a help file in html for each one. The problem I am running into is that i can't seem to make it load pictures. Code: File structure F:\PortableApps\7-Zip\ (Where the help file is) F:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\HelpFiles\ (Where the pics are at) What code do i need to make this work? Code: background-image: url(..\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\HelpFiles\help_background_header.png); Thanks! I made my own web site... www.mar-cela.com howver, when I open it with Explorer I cant see my jpg images, when I open it with Firefox all is ok. Any suggestions? Was wondering if someone could look at this website and tell me what platform you are viewing from and is anything visibly wrong? http://voyageurwd.com/londonJeepClub.htm I need to create a form with a submit button. When pressed, the form will retrieve data (a list of options) from a remote url then display those options in a Select element. Can anyone provide me with any sample code or point me in the right direction for how I should go about achieving this? Thanks, James I'm pretty new to web design, but I've started making drop down menus using HTML and CSS. I get annoyed that every time I want to change the menu I have to go and change it individually in every single page. I am wondering if there is a way to create the code in an external file and link it into my pages, so that if I want to make a change, I can do it from one central file and have the change appear on each individual page. Is this possible? How can I do this? In the following code, the image display is inconcsistent: - Firefox: works in all cases - IE7 over Internet: works - IE7 locally: image does not display; I get a placeholder. - IE7 locally on my other computer: works. By "locally", I mean that the HTML file and the image are on my local hard disk; by "Internet", I mean that the HTML file and the image are on the server at my web site service. The image is in the same directory as the HTML file in all cases. Here's the code:

My Page

Welcome to My Page

I suspect an IE7 setting on the offending computer, but I've looked around quite a bit and it ain't obvious to me. Any thoughts? Guys n Gals. Is it possible using HTML to search local folders for files. The scenario: At work we have a networked folder, that is constantly being updated with either txt files or xml files and such. This changes on a daily basis. Is it possible to search using html. I don't wish to build a database, as this would require constant attention. I would like to send out a small HTML page, with our company logo, that references the newtrk location. If so, would anyone know or have the code to do this. Java would also be suitable. hi all, i have created a website presentation for my project with about 1000 pictures with only simple html. Hello, it seems every now and then when I create an image from a document/scan or such and I upload it, It displays fine in FireFox, however users in IE are reporting that they're not seeing the image. Can anyone take look at this image and tell me if you see this displaying in IE? http://thejf.org/images/JCC124.jpg Is this an IE bug or something? How come this image appears fine in FireFox but not IE? I have a website for my company, and at the bottom I have a clickable button which gives access to "resources" such as manuals and diagrams which is only accessible with a username and password. I would like to add a button that automatically opens the remote desktop connection tool (mstsc) on the users machine, and ideally ammend some of the default settings of this (drives, sounds etc). I have no idea if this is even possible! Any pointers (or a simple NO!) would be great! Hello, Can anybody post a code that will let me embeed remote .FLV video into web page by using IFRAME? Thanks |
