I have heard something about firefox not supporting "focus ()" (at least i think thats it, im kind of a newb) due to security reasons, so is there any way around this at all? Thanks, Dani i have written a simple html form code the problem is that this code is working fine when run in interner explorer, if i run in mozilla firefox form reset button work as submit button it show submit validation code when reset button press, can any one help me here is the code <script type="text/javascript"> function validation() { alert("submit buton has pressed"); return true; } </script> <body> <form id="form1" name="form_feedback" method="post" onsubmit="return validation();"> <table width="488" border="0"> <!--DWLayoutTable--> <tr> <td width="85"><span>Name:</span></td> <td width="393"><input name="txt_name" type="text" id="textfield2" size="35" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span>Email:</span></td> <td><input name="txt_email" type="text" id="textfield3" size="35" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span>Address:</span></td> <td height="0"><label> <textarea name="txt_address" id="textarea" cols="45" rows="2"></textarea> </label></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span>Phone No:</span></td> <td height="0"><input name="txt_phoneno" type="text" id="textfield4" size="20" onkeypress="return numeralsOnly(event)" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span>Comments For:</span></td> <td height="0"><input name="txt_commentsfor" type="text" id="textfield5" size="20" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span>Comments:</span></td> <td height="0"><label> <textarea name="txt_comments" id="textarea2" cols="45" rows="5"></textarea> </label></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="0"><label> <input type="submit" name="btn_submit" value="Submit"/> <input type="reset" value="Reset" name="btn_reset"/> </label></td> </tr> </table> </form> </body> For complicated reasons having to do with getting some Javascript to submit a form properly, which I won't get into here, I need to create a "do nothing" input button, whose mere presence lets the Javascript function work. Since this button does not do anything when you press it, I want it to be invisible. In IE I can get it to be invisible just by setting its width to zero using the line below. However, Firefox insists on giving it some finite width, even if there is no label on it (see below). How do I create a zero width button in Firefox - and is there any other way to hide input buttons? <input type="submit" name="control" value=" " style="width: 0px" title="No function" /> I am creating a website that has a search button with an image. I would like to know if there is some simple code that I can include that would display the same basic image with a different color when the user mouses over the button. Here is the code: <FORM name="searchform" onSubmit="return validateSearch();" METHOD="POST" ACTION="search_results_lt.asp"> <INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="Search" VALUE="" SIZE="20" > <INPUT TYPE=IMAGE SRC="images/search_button.gif" Name="SearchButton" Value="Submit"> </FORM> **** Thanks for your help, Robin Hello, I am pretty new to the whole html world so forgive me if this is a simple problem. I have look all over for a post explaing this problem but i haven't found anything. I am making a site for a friend using Dreamweaver. I know i know, i regret not coding it from scratch but its too late now. Anyways I have a pretty good page layout going now but I have ran into a problem with loading my images. On my home page an image in a table nested inside another table will load when viewing in safari but seems to disappear in firefox. What is going on? Its a pretty simple piece of code. I place; <img src="Pictures/RDV couplepalm.jpg" width="200" height="" style="float:right; padding: 8px; margin-left:10px; margin-bottom: 10px" / inside of a paragraph in a row of a table. I have rewritten the code for this image, copied it from a working image and screwed around with the table heights (although I wasn't too sure what i was doing). What else should I try? I have attached screen shots of the site in both browsers a copy of the problem jpeg aswell as a copy of the html. Any information anyone could givee me would be REALLY appreciated! Thank you. Can you please help me? I am making a website in MS SharePonit designer 2007. The site will be in 2 languages, Croatian and English. On the home page of the site I have put two radio buttons to give the choice to go to English version or Croatian version. And below those 2 radio buttons i want to put a button with text "ENTER SITE". But I don't know how to do this: If the Croatian radio button is checked, a click on the "ENTER SITE" must take you to the Croatian version of the site, and if English radio button is checked, click on "ENTER SITE" must take you to the English version. Can you please tell me how to do that? I need html code of an ad with close button and I also need html code of floating ad with close button. If someone knows how to do it , please post html. I need a button that will execute a chatbox aside from the plain Brown block with words. Code: <p>Welcome to the HackersLounge! Hello everyone, I'm new here. I am having a problem making a button (well not a problem, but it is not how I would like it.) I have created a button using 2 images: Code: #navbar ul{ float:left; list-style: none; } #navbar ul li{ display:block; float:left; padding:10px 0 10px 10px; margin:10px 0 10px 10px; max-width:120px; min-width: 50px; background:url('images/button-left.png') no-repeat scroll top left; } #navbar ul li a{ display:block; color: #fff; text-decoration:none; padding:10px 15px 10px 5px; margin: -10px 0 0 -2px; font-weight:bold; text-align:left; background: transparent url('images/button-right.png') no-repeat scroll top right; } So, it works, and I could use it, but only the right image is the link, so I was wondering how I could also make the left image the link too. Hello, Please point me in the direction of button-layers. In other words: How do I make a whole layer act as a link so that when a user clicks anywhere within a layer (and not ONLY on the link in the center of it), the whole layer acts as a button? Thank you for your expertise! I have a long list of dealers in the United States, is there such a thing as some kind of drop menu that a user could just find the state and then just click it to go to it. or should I just list all the states and have them hyper link to them. I thought there would be something cooler out there. TIA http://www.streetmagicleds.com/smlocatesales.html I have submit buttons on one form. Is there any way to change the text that gets displayed to the user? Here's what I have <td><p><input type="submit" name = "sid" value="372"/> The text displayed on screen to the user is then "372", which isn't very helpful. The variable sid is passed to the form action, and while the value I want passed is, in this case "372", I would like the button to be more user friendly, and have the text say something like "Get updated data" rather that just say "372", so the user knows what the button actually does. Is there a way to do this? Any help would be appreciated! Hi all a couple of questions.......... first how do I add text to a colored button that is part of the heading of my website. It is all lined up and when I go to paste the words in the button moves out of range or table. Is there a certain code that I use to prevent this. Secondly how do I make this a rollover text box....Thanks for your help |
