HTML - Page Doesn't Show - Cpanel
Hi, i am restarting a site. I have the old HTML in text docs that I saved. I am using Cpanel.
The home (index.html) page worked fine. But, from there I am trying to add another page (about_us). So what I am doing is creating a new file, and naming it about_us.html. Then I edit the file and paste in the code. But when trying to view the page as site.com/about_us it doesnt show up. But if I type site.com/about_us.html it does show up. The new file is displayed right above the index page in the file manager and all... I don't want our visitors to have to type ".html" at the end, they won't be likely to remember to anyway. I have no idea why it's doing this because I don't remember doing it before. The navigation bar I used previously used to work but now the links in it don't work because they dont have ".html" at the end of the link. (ex.<a href="http://www.site.com/about_us">About us</a>). Similar Tutorialswww.jessicaloewen.com You'll see at the very top that the alternate text "menu" shows rather than my jpg Why is this and how do I fix it? If you click "view image" it will open the proper image in a new menu. It displays fine in Firefox - what am I doing wrong? The page shows up great using just the file on my computer, but after puting the page on the FTP client for the internet the background picture will not show up. this is how I coded it: background="whatpic.gif" src="whatpic.gif" style="background-attachment:fixed" I put the picture in the same folder as the html page on both my computer and the FTP client. Any help would be great. The background picture is a very simple thing I made using paint and saved as a GIF file. thanks -Laura Hello, I am using some Jquery code + CSS to display fade in and out text above each image. NOTE: running on Mac OS X Good day, I have a test page for a website I'm currently working on, there's a video player on it that shows itself on internet explore but doesn't actually play the videos and on Safari or Firefox it doesn't even show itself. The webpage is located at: http://viloda.com/videoindex_portfolio_rtvnh.html and I think there's something wrong with the HTML. There's probably something wrong or/and missing but I really can't find what. The Video Player works perfectly fine locally, so the player made in Flash can't be the problem, I think it has to be code. So I was wondering if perhaps one of you could help, thanks for reading this over. Oye, I am trying to complete this teeny photo album I've been working on ... and I just about completed .. when I tested the Site in various browsers (mozilla, Explorer 8, Safari, Google Chrome) ... i noticed one of the frames is not showing in Google Chrome. How odd? here is the site: xxx There are three teeny shaded squares in a frame that is designated a height of 70 pixels and a width of i believe 100% ... it is visible on Mozilla, Explorer, Safari ... any ideas? is my source code screwy? Thanks! ok im messing around with cpanel (just got hosting from inmotionhosting.com) and i downloaded a layout and im uploading the index.html, images, and the css file to cpanel but when i go to view the page, the pictures dont show. what am i doing wrong? Hello. I am creating a website, www.realhelp.am, and there are 3 languages, armenian, russian and english. In website, when I am opening it, everything is ok, but when i go to cpanel, and want to edit code, there aren't showing russian and armenian texts. Instead normal text, there are numbers, and each armenian or russian letter is for example this one "ծ", or this one "գ" . Can you help me?how can they displayed as normal letters? Now then... I host with Aventure who use cPanel. I have created a passworded directory and have a number of users set up with usernames and passwords.. which is all very nice, but I can not find a way of adding Username and Password fields to a web page as oposed to clicking on a link which then brings up a seperate box to fill in (see www.strictly-smokin.co.uk). Any clues? I'd just like two fields for users to input their details without that box appearing... Cheers, mmiicchhaaeelll hi guys, I am a beginner of HTML programming. Do I need to refresh or something? Any things I need to check on Cpanel for the settings??? thanks guys!! Hi, Is there any possible to show a HTML or ASP page inside the table. I have tried with frames but i dont know how to execute exacltly. Thanks I've got a page that, on starting, checks its URL for a hash extension and behaves accordingly. So the hash, or lack thereof, is important. I want this page to contain some hyperlinks to itself, with various hash extensions. It doesn't work! If the URL is just to the page (eg. mypage.html) it reloads fine. But if the URL is, for example mypage.html#&e=extrastuff, the page doesn't reload at all. Is there a solution to this? Basically I want to put this page "http://3d-story.com/Old-Afgan.html" into a 3rd party widget. When I place this 3rd party widget on my page I can scale the widget frame to any size I want, but the page within it doesn't scale. Looks like this "http://www.wix.com/mettam/test" What code do I need to put into my HTML code so that it will scale to the frame of the widget ? Here is an example of my code with in the widget. Code: <html> <head> <title>Old Afgan</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <!-- ImageReady Preload Script (Old Afgan.jpg) --> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function newImage(arg) { if (document.images) { rslt = new Image(); rslt.src = arg; return rslt; } } function changeImages() { if (document.images && (preloadFlag == true)) { for (var i=0; i<changeImages.arguments.length; i+=2) { document[changeImages.arguments[i]].src = changeImages.arguments[i+1]; } } } var preloadFlag = false; function preloadImages() { if (document.images) { Old_Afgan_03_over = newImage("images/Old-Afgan_03-over.gif"); preloadFlag = true; } } // --> </script> <!-- End Preload Script --> </head> <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" onload="preloadImages();"> <!-- ImageReady Slices (Old Afgan.jpg) --> <table id="Table_01" width="977" height="695" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td colspan="3"> <img src="http://3d-story.com/images/Old-Afgan_01.gif" width="977" height="82" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="2"> <img src="http://3d-story.com/images/Old-Afgan_02.gif" width="190" height="613" alt=""></td> <td> <a href="#" onmouseover="changeImages('Old_Afgan_03', 'http://3d-story.com/images/Old-Afgan_03-over.gif'); return true;" onmouseout="changeImages('Old_Afgan_03', 'http://3d-story.com/images/Old-Afgan_03.gif'); return true;" onmousedown="changeImages('Old_Afgan_03', 'http://3d-story.com/images/Old-Afgan_03-over.gif'); return true;" onmouseup="changeImages('Old_Afgan_03', 'http://3d-story.com/images/Old-Afgan_03-over.gif'); return true;"> <img name="Old_Afgan_03" src="images/Old-Afgan_03.gif" width="497" height="251" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <img src="http://3d-story.com/images/Old-Afgan_04.gif" width="290" height="613" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <img src="http://3d-story.com/images/Old-Afgan_05.gif" width="497" height="362" alt=""></td> </tr> </table> <!-- End ImageReady Slices --> </body> </html> Can someone please please view my sit at resconsultingnyc.com, i used microsoft expression web 3 to make everything aligned.
