HTML - Change Page Without Reloading
I have a page (refer.php) that has a form with two fields and a link at the bottom that leads to the (refer.php?extra=TRUE) which is the same page but with ten fields instead of two. How do I make it so that when the link is clicked, it doesn't reload the page but instead just adds the additional fields? This would keep any information already placed in the two fields, which is what I really want.

The problem is that it just reloads at every change. I know it should be storing in the cache or something like that, but it just doesnt.. I'm sure this is a problem with my scripting or something, as basically every website that I go on has it saved in the cache. Recently other users and I brainstormed over at PSP forums. Many users want a youtube application for the psp, but the ram and memory simply wont allow it. Many websites offer an online youtube converter but these tend to take a while to convert, as well as wanting the url for the youtube video. The psp has no copy/paste function so it makes it rather hard to re-type a url with an on screen keyboard. There is already a youtube application for hacked/homebrew psp's, but it is rather laggy, and commonly putting homebrew on your psp will cause it to brick, and un-bricking can be expensive. The psp has a web browser which allows for you to run you own local files without using an internet connection, this means that we can open a local html file without using an internet connection. The other users and I stumbled across the following article http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/200...mp4-files.html It seemed like the perfect solution, but bookmarklets don't work on the psp. So we tried executing the javascript string through a html file, but to no avail. It only loaded a blank page that was running the javascript, instead of a youtube video with a download link. When the bookmarklet is used on a computer to download the video it works fine and the video plays in perfect quality when transfered to the psp. Conclusion: We would like some aid in creating something that will accomplish the goal of running the piece of javascript code so that we can simply choose a video to watch, download it (Yes, the psp can download files to its memory stick straight through the web browser), and watch it. None of us are that experienced in the coding field and if you could help us out, it would be greatly appreciated. If you wished to simply make the whole thing yourself, go ahead. Fell free to put your name and website all over it, as long as it works. If you were to make this work your creation would be used worldwide by hundreds of thousands. Below are the two sites I will use to explain my problem. For reference, I used Mozilla Firefox 3.08 and Google Chrome 1.0.154.53 in my tests. In example 1, I set the height of the content area to be 200 px tall. In example 2, I set the height of the content area to be 500 px tall. When I have example 1 open in one tab and example 2 open in another, I can alternate between the two tabs and see a visual difference in alignment. The HTML code on both pages is exactly identical with the exception of the height of the content area. Can anyone tell me why the horizontal page center changes based on the height of the page? My page is very simple but it works alright. But it's got some little problems. Like it starts out laid out in one format but after a click on the submit button it adopts a different format. And secondly I've used tables to lay out the page and I've read that tables are deprecated for this purpose. When the webpage I created with a margin of 1024 x 768 appears on my monitor (1440x900) as well the monitor of a few other people I have asked, it appears fine. When I change my monitor resolution to 1024 x 768 to view the webpage, I have to scroll over to the middle of the page to begin viewing. How do I fix this so that the page is centered regardless of the monitor resolution of whomever is viewing the page? Hey guys, I'm trying to use submit buttons to display different websites in an iframe (or maybe I could use css?) What I'm basically trying to do is display different SQL databases when you click different buttons. So the code in the website in the iframe will just display the database. Thanks I've seen it done, but probably not in html. Every time the page is reloaded, the background colour within certain areas of the page will change to one of a series of pre-set colours. Usually this is all background divs or table cells that have been earmarked for this colour change, but how on earth do you set that up in html? Any ideas? Then, links on a menu bar stimulate loading a new page, however only the content below the header changes. An example of this, is the CushyCMS website (http://www.cushycms.com). When you click the menu links, the header doesn't reload, only the page content does. How would I do this? My reason for wanting this method, is because I wish to have an image slider present within the header of all of my pages, and I don't wish to have to update every page each time I wish to add an image. A lot of them are just textual changes and I would think my customers can do these themselves by editing a simple .txt file. I was hoping my choices are avalable so that I can just insert this tag into my web pages and then give them login info to their edit page or show them how to upload the .txt file.
