HTML - Html Editor - More Than Just Notepad
I'm looking for a HTML/CSS/JavaScript etc. (all of those coding/scripting things that you use notepad for) editor that's a bit more advanced than notepad. It's not too important that it's free, as long as it isn't like.. USD $1000
I'm not looking for a WYSIWYG Similar Tutorialsremoved the message as help is no longer available Hi, I've spend today (9am yesterday till 3am... now) trying to learn my way through HTML from pretty much scratch! I've been helping out at a Drum Shop who've just got a website made, and they've been offered the chance to do a free e-mail campaign to local students. The shop has been open 40 years, and both the staff have been there since it opened, so entering the 20th century with a website is a major achievement! Anyway, I've been trying to compose the e-mail in html, and I think I've got something that'll work... but as I'm VERY new to all this I'm worried about whether it'll work in different browsers etc and, well... at all really! I've attached the txt of the HTML so far.... I've no editor etc, so been using notepad... sorry if it's awkward to read etc. I'm really just hoping someone will take pity on my poor fried brain and have a look at the page / txt and maybe let me know if there's something wrong with it and, if you're feeling generous, offer some tips and advice on changes... unfortunately, my first ever HTML e-mail will be going to 20,000 people, so I'm rather nervous about getting it right! Thanks in advance and eh, thanks for the forum... it's been really rather useful whenever I've been stuck / made a mistake! Steve PS: The images I'm using at the moment aren't quite right, can't fix them till I get back to work tomorrow morning! Ok I'm still really new to HTML with no bad habits & would like to use a program that is really easy to use & geared toward function-ability. I've been using notepad for my HTML I would prefer to steer away from DreamWeaver as I dont plan on using a WYSIWYG So what are my other options for great programs to write HTML in? Thanks Can someone recommend me a goo HTML editor? I can drag and drop control. Include syntax checking, ... I have been using Notepad ++ for a while now. Just wondering, maybe their is a better editor? It needs to be able to work with CSS/JS/PHP. Someone recommended to me Bluefish Editor... I don't have time to be trying numerous software, what are other web developers using? I appreciate any input. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good but easy to use HTML Editor? I want to be able to have complete control over the HTML, something which my current Host Sitebuilder does not allow. Thanks Hi all, I can code html by hand but I am looking some tools or editor which can help me code html faster than hand typing. Any thoughts? I heard dreamweaver is a great tool for coding html. Please feel free to give me any advice. Thanks in advance. Opeth Hello, newbie here. I have worked, hacked, html files, so I'm familiar with the basics and guts of the files. I know there is software that will allow you to create/build html files. I assume these are called editors or html front end...... whatever. So, 1) what is this software called 2) what do you recommend for basic web pages nothing fancy. So what I'm looking for is something that is easy to use, intuitive, and solid. Any ideas ? Thanks Hey people, what is considered to be the best HTML editor, Currently I use dreamweaver but I would be happy to spend out a load more cash if there is a better one, I also want to know which editor would be best spending my time learning. Hey guys, I tend to get really annoying lately tabbing between my ftp, browser(s) and editor, is there some sort of real time HTML editor that shows me my changes as i make them? Think firebug plugin on firefox..allows you to edit any pages code and updates it as you type the code. Note; I'm not looking for a Frontpage type editor, i can write code, just annoying tabbing all the time. Hi all, I wanted to learn HTML before 1 year, but I gave up, it was too much too read But now I wanna start again, and I'm searching for the tool I used. But I can't find it, it was so easy, and I was able to use it, and believe me, there's not much I CAN use It was a simple editor tool, and I think it was from Mozilla. That's what it did: I wrote something in HTML, and when I pressed preview he showed me what will display when I add the code on a website. And I was able to save my codes as a file format, but I don't know which, I think something standard... And now I want that tool again, but I searched for 2 hours now and I can't find it... Does ANYONE know the name? I would be very pleased about a helpful answer... Or does anyone know a tool which does, what I described? A simple tool? ______________________________ CuddlyBunny AkA Nico Hi all Until recently I have used plain text editors to code, but lately I have found that IDEs can be a welcome aid. I don't really need anything super fancy like a full-scale IDE, just syntax highlighting and something that keeps track of indentation so that when I move to a new line I don't need to tab out to the correct indentation. I have used notepad++ on Windows and I really like it, but most of my coding is done in a Linux environment and AFAIK there is no Linux version. Something similar to notepad++ would be awesome. I am looking into an editor called SciTE that is apparently the basis of notepad++ so hopefully that will be the answer. If such a thing exists then perhaps an editor that will help me keep track of the various attributes that each element can have (my experience with HTML/XHTML etc. is limited and I hate having to keep looking up the attributes at my disposable), it would be far easier to have access to some sort of HTML/XHTML/CSS API, or to be able to create one like you can in notepad++, it doesn't necessarily need to be part of the editor so any suggestions on sites that offer this sort of thing would also be much appreciated. Hey guys I am after an online html editor So lets say I have a simple html site I put the editor into an admin folder ( password protect it ) so when i go to the editor I can make changes to the html pages - add images etc. Does anything like this exist? preferably free ware on open source cheers Hi everyone, I downloaded notepad++ in order to work with at creating html code. In contradiction to my expectations there are no <html>, <head>, <title>,<body> tags showing up automatically at each new page. Closing tags do not show up each time i create a new tag and there are no properties/values lists for each tag. So, whats the good in notepd ++ ? Why is it considered better then ordinary ms notepad ? Thanks Hi everyone, I downloaded notepad++ in order to work with at creating html code. Hi There again, I didn't think I would be posting again so soon, however I have decided to play around with building a site for my personal company which does not even exist yet. I just downloaded a free version of Page Breeze which I am sure most of you have heard of and was wonering if it is any good from a "professional" stand point. Being a "newbie" or "rookie' myself and have only played around a little bit on it, it seems very user freindly. Is there anything out there in a "free" version that is better or is there a fairly inexpensive HTML editor out there that is GREAT? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks I used Coffee cut as HTML editor but there is no error checking. Can someone recommend a editor with error checking? Gentlemen: I am new to both Html & Xhtml. Can anyone recommend a freeware editor for Xhtml & a conversion tool for Html to Xhtml? I m wondering which hmtl editors everyone here prefers. I have downloaded HTML-Kit & Page Breeze but I am not the sharpest tool & I end up getting frustrated as I need a more user friendly editor. Something for the ADHD adult I really won't be using advanced things like media for now, only basic HTML & CSS. What I am trying to accomplish is to get a website done without media or movable images. Also, someone told me that there are some editors which come with ready made commands, for e.g maybe such as creating a table by just clicking anywhere. Of course, I will have to specify other things. Are there any editors which automate a lot of your work & save time? Thanks a lot. |
