HTML - Pop Size Control By Percentage
Hi All,
I would like to control popup size as a % of the window that is generating the popup. Is that possible in any way? All I'm familiar with are fixed height and width parameters. Thanks, Jim Similar TutorialsI have made a link from an image to open a detail of the image in a new page. Everything works OK but the only problem I've got is that the new browser window that opens is too big, the image is nestled up in the right hand corner. Is there a way I can controll the size of the new browser window so that it only displays the image with a minmul white space around it? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Dyfrig This slide show, which I like the functions of, show the size of the show by the side of the photo. Is there a way, other than changing all pictures to about the same size that I can keep the slide show uniform? show at link below TIA http://www.nomagicneon.com/customerphotos.html hello people, I checked the other day how is easy to have a slider with html5 and how great looks, but I was wondering how can I use it to control the font size or color of the font or background. I use already the font size option for the user to my blog's posts but with javascript and by clicking on two images (plus, minus). A simple slider would be perfect but I cant find on internet how can I get the values from slider and feed the size or color. I only found one tutorial on html5 slider which just prints the number on the slider. I am not an excerpt so any help will be much appreciated. cheers i have 2 frames in my parent frame say 1.htm ie left frame and 2.htm ie right frame now this 1.htm is quite a long frame and has a scrollbar and 2.htm is a short one i dont the scroll bar beside my frame 1 but want it to be for my entire parent window ie i wont to scroll both my left and right frames together how do i do that Hi! I have a page that contains a text area. What I want it to do is to change its size according to the size of the browser window. How can I make it do that? I did it once but just can't seem to remember how I did it. Thanks Hi. I was wondering if there is an html code or a way for me to reduce the size of images on a page by percentages. The reason being, we have images that are 200x200 and then some 200x150, etc. at random sizes. When I use the "image size =" in html, the images are coming out distorted. I would just like to reduce the images by 50% on width and length. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Daniel Hello, We are developing a consumer applicance here with a simple web interface. The web pages are served using "echo" statements in bash scripts, so nothing very advanced. The pages interact with the a server application on the box, to display various text data such as statistics, and to allow the user to edit various configuration data. We would like to extend this as follows. The user will enter numeric data, which will be processed by the server application. The application will generate a rating score 0-100, which we would like to display to user using a simple visual display such as an analog VU-meter, or by some other means. It would be a bonus if the "100" and "0" ends of the display "100" side could be colored red and green. Are there simple HTML-coded widgets available that can do this? The fact that I don't even know what these widgets are called, shows up my limited level of GUI design. Many thanks, Paul Hello Everyone! (hoping for quick reply.. lol) I am not sure if this should go here, or in the design section. I chose here, because it is a problem in the code itself. I have introduced myself in the introductory section, if you want to know a little bit more about what I am doing this for. I made a template design in The Gimp photo editor. I sliced it up, and opened up the HTML file in the editor Kompozer. It opened up just like it should, but I wanted a liquid type layout, so I turned the cell's widths into the corresponding percentages, though Kompozer rounded them off. (Shown below) However, when I previewed the file this time, it appeared as if it skipped every other cell, leaving a blank white space in its spot. Not even in the right percentages. I think I know what I've done wrong, looking back now that I am writing this thread. Can someone please point me in the right direction? EDIT: Code posted as comment, due to lack of character room. Hey everyone, I have an embedded Windows Media Player 11 on my site and I have it set to buffer before playing the videos. So I have two questions: 1. How can I make the buffering percentage visible in WMP 2. Is it possible to take the buffering percentage and have a custom progress bar go through HTML or javascript or something? 3. If #2 isn't possible, could I put a message up that disappears once the movie autostarts? Thanks! All: Working to update a previously designed website. Original design uses an <img> tag to create a top banner and another <img> tag to create a side banner. In each case there are mapped coordinates on each banner as links for the subsequent pages. Basic page design is as follows: Code: <table> <tr> <td> <img usemap="Map1"> <map name="Map1"> <area> <area> <area> </map> </td> </tr> </table> <table> <tr> <td> <img name="Map2"> <map> <area> <area> <area> </map> </td> <div> ***PAGE CONTENT*** </div> <tr> <table> The challenge is that the [PAGE CONTENT] varries in length througout the site causing some pages to be much longer or shorter than others. This causes some inconsistencey in the relationship between the side banners height and the page content. In other words in some cases the banner is exceptionally longer than the page content and the reader must scroll past significant "dead-space" before being brought to the lowest mapped links in the side banner; or... ...in some cases the side banner is significantly shorter than the page content causing the banner image to appear "poorly-fit" to the page design. I considered altering the 2nd table instance in the above design so that the banner is carried in a <td> tag that is adjacent to the page content and hopefully to allow the tag carrying the image to size relative to the <td> tag carring the content.... Code: <table> <tr> <td> <img usemap="Map1"> <map name="Map1"> <area> <area> <area> </map> </td> </tr> </table> <table> <tr> <td size="100%"> <img name="Map2"> <map> <area> <area> <area> </map> </td> <td size="100%" > <table> ***PAGE CONTENT*** </table> </td> <tr> <table> The problem I've found with this is that as the content size causes the image to "flex", either readablilty or image quality or both are effected, AND the mappings become inconsistent as the image coordinates constantly change. I've considered 2 solutions and am leaning toward one, but thought I'd post this and see if there are better ideas I'm overlooking. One idea was to add additional table rows inside the [PAGE CONTENT] table presumably creating a "defalut" page size that would never be smaller than a standard for the side banner. Problem: larger page sizes are still a problem as are the changing map coordinates My other idea was to return to the original page design listed first above and again settle on a standard side banner "height"... ...any page that was significantly longer than that height would be split to 2 or more pages with a [NEXT>>] button at the bottom of the page navigating to the additional content. Problem: ...possible complications splitting content... Benefit: ...consistent page design that allows a consistent side banner with navigable links... Question for the group: Does this sound reasonable? Are there better alternatives I am overlooking? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL INPUT!! Hi, I have to display the results in 20 columns, in that 14 columns are frozen, rest of them are scrollable, when I give table widht in % then scrollbar presents to view the data in Firefox. If I see the same in IE, it doesnt show all the data, and there is no scrollbar. If I give the table width in px form then to some extent I am able to see the scrollbar in IE, and minimum pixel I had to give is 3000 and above. Is there any common solution to me to fix this so that I can see same both the browsers. We would like to have solution, width in % not in px. Please let me know the solution for this. I have attached the zip file for your reference to see the code, please run in IE and Firefox and check it. Hi there, When running a website from my Hard Drive or CD, the Active X message pops up, saying: "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..." I know that if you disable the Windows security, this message goes away. I would like this message to not pop up regardless of your security settings... much like the format /y command in the good ol' DOS days. Is there a command that will force the computer to accept the page without user intervention? Thanks in advance! I hello, I want to add buttons to control my displaying. I have an HTML page that has an Outlook View Control. Something simple like this: Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>View Control</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252" /> <meta content="MSHTML 5.50.4522.1800" name="GENERATOR" /> </head> <body style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;"> <div> <script src="email-inbox.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </div> </body> </html> the javascript file has only this: Code: // inserts the <object> and <embed> tags to circumvent the new restriction in IE (since April 11 2006) document.write('<object id="ViewCtlFolder" classid="CLSID:0006F063-0000-0000-C000-000000000046" width="100%" height="180px"><param name="Folder" value="Inbox" /></object>'); The problem is that when Microsoft Outlook is not installed this will fire a Javascript error. I want to avoid that error and display a message like "Microsoft Outlook not installed". Is there any way I can do this?
